Bro, you need a remote temperature probe to actually check the temperature of the water. I agree with your side brush problem. But some other stuff you said it was just not true. There is no dustbin sensor in the robot. That frequency of empty is set by you in the app.
if you set the carpet settings in the app to "ignore" it uses the side brush on carpet. not ideal but I turn it on time to time in my fully carpeted rooms to make sure I get everything. just gotta be careful to turn it back off afterwards otherwise you can accidentally mop the carpet which is gross
Just a shame I did not watch your video before I bought this robot. Great video, thanks. Just for the new readers again: THIS X40 DOES NOT CLEAN EDGES BETWEEN CARPET AN WALLS. In other words, the side brush will not come out or even spin at those edges This Robot was designed for the Chinese market where most homes have hardwood floors. It is useless if your house is fully carpeted.
Nice review. I like that you highlighted right up front the infuriating fact that the X40 doesn’t use its side brush on carpets i.e. it doesn’t even try to clean the edges and corners of carpeted rooms. Such a weird decision when even the predecessor, the X30, does use its side brush on carpets, at least that’s what I saw in one X30 video. I want the X40 but with 80% of my rooms being carpeted I’m going to wait a few more months for that firmware fix to come out. I’m also considering the Roborock s8 MaxV Ultra as an alternative that, unless Dreame does fix the side brush issue, will probably do a better job on my carpets.
Does anyone know what laser rays does the X40 Ultra use? Because it seems most of them use LIDAR and they can cause damage to pets eyes especially because they lie on the floor so it is easy for those rays to reach their eye level.
i'm currently owning the Z10 Pro from Dreame. I do however want some more aid with daily mopping now that my back is giving out more and more.. The L10 Ultra here in Sweden is 1/3 of the price at 5500SEK, compared to X40 ultra 15,000 SEK and L20 is 2/3 of the price at 10,000 SEK. Would I notice any "real" upgrade between all these? Or should I simply wait and save up for next years X50 Ultra?
I have a English cream retriever that seems to shed and regenerate her hair every singe day! In your opinion, is this the best vacuum for that? 80% of our floors are hard. Thanks!
That dreame looks almost exactly like the roborock qrevo with the extending brush and mop. Even the app looks the same. Who copied who?! Btw what’s the dog water bowl you have?
Bin sensors are still under patent by iRobot. Ive tested loads of these from a myriad of manufacturers and they are all poor on carpet. Also these companies keep pumping out new models but are lazy at upgrading existing models.
I have a 2000 sq/ft clinic of concrete (polished) floor (no carpets) and the x40 is $800 more then the x30. Would you recommend me buy the x30 or x40? or a different vaccum all together for my needs?
x40 Ultra - does it need to buy the extra Dreame TriCut Brush to replace the main brush in order to reduce hair clog? Does hair clog on the side rollers of the TriCut Brush?
Can you please tell me does the auto empty actually suck the dogs hair into the dust bin. I have a model that was bought last year and it doesn't do it even though u was told it would. Thanks
Bro yours is still working...after the update on 5 Aug 2024 mine is dead...I cannot control the robot from the app..can you check if is still working ?
I bought the dreame x40 just over a month ago and now, it keeps on saying device offline in the app. Even after I reset it and reconnect to the internet, it just goes offline after 15mins again. Have you ever experienced this? Any suggestions for fixing? Please help.

You could turn at the app ignore carpets, then the side brush will spin again. Try it
this is an honest review for a person with a carpet. without a carpet you are gonna be very happy

overall a really objective and straight forward review

I’m surprised there’s no update
@@EverydayChris This robot vacuum cleaner can reach over a 2 cm threshold?
@@midlspahe22 mm according to the specs
If you set it hoover only and ignore carpet sensor, the side brush will work on carpets.
What’s ur advice if the price difference is 200€. I will buy it first time?
Awesome video!!! Does anyone know how customer service is with dreame? (Considering this vs roborock slim)
When I email them they usually respond quickly. check amazon reviews
Better than iRobot products?

interesting. It does use Lidar and I can see it through our cameras. It actually goes all the way up the entire walls at my head level too.
@@EverydayChris Hey Chris, a Big Thanks for your prompt reply.
Can you compare Narwal v/s X50 Ultra

I say wait to upgrade.

For sure. Esp with hardwood floors the edge cleaner helps alot. WE have 2 goldens haha
Nice wood paneling
Ty!
Great video! So which robot vaccuum mop do you recommend for people who are looking to upgrade?

Interesting! amzn.to/4dnhMH7 stores a ton of water
@@EverydayChris I thought that was some weird vacuum cleaner station for a minute 😅🤣
Coupd u please share video of ecovacus x5 pro omini? Or share your views..what u think it is worth or not? Anyone pleaase reply

do you know if you could ask google assistant to see the vacuum camera? as you would do it, for example when you ask it to see a security camera
For camera function I don’t think you can but it does support Alexa and Google for smart cleaning

Hm.. I say the x40 for the edge brush. But if you don’t have any dog hair the 30 does a solid job!
x40 Ultra - does it need to buy the extra Dreame TriCut Brush to replace the main brush in order to reduce hair clog?
Does hair clog on the side rollers of the TriCut Brush?
It still clogs on the side side part where it rolls but doesn’t affect the cleaning, and yeah you gotta buy it separately!
What if you were upgrading from a Roomba j7+? Is it worth it then?🤔
Possibly for the mop features
Can you please tell me does the auto empty actually suck the dogs hair into the dust bin. I have a model that was bought last year and it doesn't do it even though u was told it would. Thanks
Yup! It sucks it all

Yeah mine works!!! Contact support
The robot cleans 90% well. Not entirely as many reviews make you think. It's a good robot but far then perfect.
And boy it's too expensive.

Try holding the home and spot clean button to reset the network settings!
