  • This is a Game Changer! | New GreenStalk Automatic Watering System Setup and Installation!
    It's time for us to transition our indoor GreenStalk vertical garden setup outdoors, and so in this video we talk about hardening off our vegetables, some of the maintenance we do to prep for assembling our GreenStalk, and most importantly, in this video we introduce the new GreenStalk automatic watering system and GreenStalk lid.
    We are a GreenStalk affiliate, and we love our GreenStalk vertical gardens, and this new watering system and Bluetooth enabled watering hose controller are going to make the watering process so much easier and more consistent, and we are excited to be able to show you how easy it is to assemble the GreenStalk automatic watering system.
    If you are new to GreenStalk vertical gardening systems, this is a great first look at the system and some of the great new features.

    Great video. The watering system for my mother's GreenStalk is still in the box. I need to set it up for her.

    Sound pretty sweet, thanks for the walkthru - I was hesitant on the greenstalk-style gardening, but the new watering system resolves what seems to be one of the biggest concerns.

    Parsley and Strawberries. Would love a "REAL" green stalk but right now my budget keeps me with my 2 generic ones. Lol😂

    If it's warm enough, how about some dwarf tomatoes?

    Plant parsley in the extra pockets. Parsley goes with everything and looks pretty growing alongside green leafy veg. Or, grow some bush beans... maybe some french variety like Maxibel Haricot, because they produce heavily.

    I do love my GreenStalks! The watering system is a nice idea except that I turn my towers daily. I will need about six of those lids though.

    Personally, I’m longing for some fresh green onions and chives. Both grew well in my GS last year! I’m trying to get my hands on some of the purple bunching onions this year 💜🧅

    I vote for tarragon.. because I just realized I forgot to start mine.
    Or basil. Or strawberries. :)
    I just got and set up 2 greenstalks yesterday. Looking forward to filling them out this weekend!

    I am blown away by this new watering system! You explained the setup well. 😊
    I would suggest planting either carrots or broccoli in the empty pockets.

    That looks nice. The only thought that I have is with the watering system is that you would have to detach the clips and reposition if you want to spin it for even sunlight distribution unless I am missing something. Looks great if you do not need to turn your planter though. Thanks for sharing I was curious how it went together. Just the cover alone would be a good buy! Many thanks.

    • @Grubbdub
      @Grubbdub Рік тому +1

      They give you TONS of extra clips, so I have them randomly positioned on different sides. It’s easy to unclip the hose, turn it and clip it into one of the other locations. It still works! Less effort than hand watering.

    • @Grubbdub
      @Grubbdub Рік тому +1

      @@michelemenard8364 I do! The only issue I can foresee a problem would be if you use the plant supports (trellis). I don’t use those, they would make it more complicated.

    How about growing strawberries? I had some cheap knock-off for vertical pots and ended up giving them to my daughter, who is using them for strawberries now. I went back to growing in pots and now that I'm back from my several month trip to Calif I can get the garden going. Just planted a bunch of seeds in the greenhouse today.

    How many green stalks do you have? I have 8 and the thought of trying to figure out how to get them all on the same watering system feels a little overwhelming. I also don’t like that you can’t spin them without disconnecting the watering system. It might not be as big a pain as I’m thinking since you don’t have to uninstall the whole system, just disconnect the hose but I’d have to see what people say once they’ve had time to try it out.

    Can ANYONE out there answer this for me? I am ready to order the green stock. However, I had emailed the company and explained that I live in a small apartment that has no balcony. They told me they would not recommend it just for indoors yet I keep seeing these videos about indoors? They stated that there would be no place for the water to drain. I currently have a Lettuce Grow but I really want to green stock as well. Is there water draining all over? I really really want to order one of these! Can anyone help me here?

    • @GutenGardening
      @GutenGardening  Рік тому

      Great question! Here is how we handle using the GreenStalk indoors. If you buy a spinning base for it, you can place that base on top of some bricks. That gives you enough extra height that you can then take the hose that comes out of that base and let it drain off into a container when watering. We have found that that works for us, if that makes sense. You can use something as simple as a seedling tray with no holes to catch the water. We have also found that, if you don't overwater, the amount of water that comes out of the hose isn't too excessive. Does that all make sense? I would say, if you don't buy a base, then it would be harder to deal with because water will come out the bottom.

      You are awesome! Thank you so very much for your rapid response. I can now take advantage of the last day of the sale. Are you still able to use your 10% on sale prices? Also, do you typically just water once a week, I’m sorry I meant once a day? And what a great idea to set it on bricks. I appreciate you! ❤️

    • @GutenGardening
      @GutenGardening  Рік тому

      You are welcome! Yes, just click the link, and then when you check out use "Guten" and you will get that extra $10 off. We water about every 2 days indoors, but I think that your mix, plus heat, etc. will make that a learning/refining process for you. :) So, you may find your needs are different than ours. That being said, you are more than welcome, and please let us know if you have any other questions! :)

      Sorry, ordering right now and I’m confused as to the difference in the ultimate spinner versus the mover? Does the mover just allow you to move it from one place to the other and the spinner allow you to also drain the water?
