How to Put Together and Use the NEW GreenStalk Watering System!

Hey Everybody! Welcome to Morning Glory Farmstead! Join me to learn how to use the NEW GREENSTALK AUTOMATIC WATERING SYSTEM! I will show you how to put it together and use it for one GREENSTALK and then you can tweak it if you want to use it for more than one greenstalk. This will allow you to fill up the water reservoir by just turning the nozzle. Once you turn it on, it is recommended to leave it on for one or two minutes once a day for smaller crops. During the really hot part of the season, you will want to turn it on twice a day for larger crops. When you have just one GreenStalk, you can leave the valve open and use a timer when filling the reservoir. If you have connected multiple GreenStalks to the watering system, use the valves to control the flow depending on what you are growing in each GreenStalk. You will need a watering system for each GreenStalk.

Interesting….but I’m wondering if I’d rather have more GreenStalks instead of easier watering….I only have 2 so it shouldn’t take that long to water them. Even if I get more, I’m not sure it would save that much time because you’d have to watch it so you wouldn’t run your well dry or raise your water bill sky high…..lots to think about! I would agree that Green Stalks original watering system with the bowl on the top leaves something to be desired because although the centers of the tiers may be moist, the pockets dry out every day, especially in Florida heat. But I don't think that new watering system is much of an improvement. The pockets are still going to dry out because you're still watering from the top. I also can't spare my watering hose just to be hooked up to the green stalk. I've got other things I need to water. I water everything every morning, including all the Greenstalk pockets. Once or twice a week, I water the Greenstalk from the top until water runs out the bottom.
Hey ZsaZsa! 😀I have always chosen not to use the watering system because I simply love to spin and water the GreenStalk. I am very much a visual gardener and just watch my veggies to see when they need to be watered and how they are responding. I plan on speaking to that in the next video. I understand what you are saying about the hose as well! I also have growbags to water so need that hose to be free. I could see it working for some who may have only 2 GreenStalks or something similar to that situation. Good to hear from you! 🥰 Lolly
How frequently do you water your Greenstalk?
Hey Mary! 😀Are you referring to the automatic watering system specifically? Or just in general with the GreenStalks? I will definitely address that part 2. Had a few more things to address in the next video. If you are referring to the new watering system, GreenStalk recommends leaving the water on for 1-2 minutes a day for small crops and twice a day for larger crops and in the height of the season.
