    It's so great to see an instructor who's willing to learn from others. It shows that they care more about their work than being right all the time.

    He looks like a very nice guy, not like a lot of other fighters that are egoistic and narcistic fucks, i respect it when people who have succes just stay normal, nice and down to earth

    Wow. This is really good, simpler and more likely to work than other rear naked choke moves I've been taught.

  • @richcapo

    Krav has the best escape in my opinion. If you try to grab the choking arm with the opposite hand, as is shown here, you better pray that arm is dry as a bone. You’ll slip right off if it’s sweaty.
    Nick, if you haven’t, you should do a video on the Krav way to break the rear naked choke.

    That's crazy I tried the flip method in a street fight it works as long as you get that space in your neck as Elias stated in the video. The drop definitely works after the flip to do whatever you have to do to descalate or further engage the situation

    Another option is to just tilt forward I think and when the other guy is off balanced or off his legs than grab his head with one arm and flip him over not land to your knees first like he does at 7:53. What do you guys think?

    Elias pulled with his left arm your right and turned hips to the side and it worked.. but can you save yourself from choke if he would pull your right arm with his left (so he would grab you on your foararm)? because in most cases you dont really know in which arm you got into (at nights, when u not paying attention etc.?)

    • @lowlowseesee
      @lowlowseesee 6 років тому

      perhaps you should do the same technique or put them on their back so you can roll to their feet and add pressure to the lock. it becomes ground bjj at this point and some bjj training will put you in great hands

  • @neutrino78x
    @neutrino78x 6 років тому

    Interesting. I did itf taekwondo in high school and we were taught to get whichever hand is easiest and grab the thumb and torque their hand off. This is a totally different technique. My only issue is that he still has his arm around your neck...well I guess there' s no magic move. This is an interesting alternative though.

    I wonder what a woman should do to escape a rear naked choke. I don't think this technique would work for her against a big guy.

    • @YellowPaint100
      @YellowPaint100 6 років тому +7

      sportsmenonline I think techniques for women against a big guy should be taught privately & general stuff openly because bad guys watch these videos too. Then the bad big guy has all the advantages.

    • @lowlowseesee
      @lowlowseesee 6 років тому +3

      yellowpaint....how the hell do you know that bad guys watch these? hahaha im not saying they never do but really man? most assholes that will attack women are not enlightened enough to make it through 2 mins of a vid like this. you sound like an untrained fellow who sniffs yellowpaint hahaa. and to sportsmenon....i train in bjj and i get choked out by women all the time. mind you im not a big dude. the way i view it is that the more skill you acquire as a grappler the more weight you can mitigate. there are in fact some people that are so damn big that certain techniques that are high percentage become low percentage. fortunately for us there are only a few men walking around at 300 plus pounds

    • @youngruggedandraw6864
      @youngruggedandraw6864 6 років тому +2

      Guys chill. Watching videos won't make you a God in fighting
      You have to practice it a lot. And in street fight most of the training and technique gets lost cause people get in survival mode and overhyped. Yes most of us overhype even if statistically the fight is fair and there are no weapons or multiple attackers

    • @boxingforselfdefence7620
      @boxingforselfdefence7620 6 років тому +1

      Yes, I think the reality of a choke is that it's almost always accompanied by a movement to take you off balance, off your feet or onto the floor, and more so in the event of a women being attacked by a perp who wants to take her to a secondary crime scene. I'd say, the reality is that you've only got a few options as smaller and weaker and off-balance and that's to either trying to fight your way partially around and attach legs to the attacker's and/or to drop bodyweight as fast as possible and hope to exploit the movement as the attacker struggles with the drop. Chaos is good, as the video states.

    Great video because I was in a situation like this the other day. However, I do wonder if it is better to use the opposite hand to pull down or pull sideways as you turn? Anyway, what happened to me the other day like two days ago is I was in a club and this weird guy came up behind me when I was sitting looking opposite from where he came and started lightly shoving me saying I have to move out of his way or something. I told him look at all the space to the left and moved my shoulders slightly to show him go ahead and walk by (he had plenty of space so I dont even know why I did that probably to try to diffuse him) and he juist kept trying to get me to get up or leave or something. I dont know probably just start shit with me. Anyway, after like 5 seconds I jsut had it. I got up and shoved him back to create space and get him away from touching me. As I did this a bouncer grabbed my neck from behind and for a second I tried getting out and I actually have had training in both bjj and judo as well as some wrestling. However, I still was not able to escape and just put my hands up saying fine and he escorted me but some other bouncer came by so I stopped trying to get out quickly anyway as there was two of them. But I know for a second I tried to get out and failed.
    But basically it was weird because I have got out of standing chokes easily before and even tried using them in a freestyle wrestling class on a younger guy or teenage kid training at the time and couldnt get one to work due to how much movement there seems to be on the feet. yet this knucklehead bouncer was able to get me so well. I felt kinda down and good I came upon this video. It makes no sense how he was able to hold it since what I did was turn my body to try getting him on side or in front of me while trying to put his hand down. But I did it from the same side hand as his choke came from unlike in this video above. I wonder if that was the difference. I also do not think he used a rear naked choke but an artery or forearm choke. I also think me being a bit drunk maybe has somnething to do with it and not training for a while. I dont know but I know that grip was fuking hard and for a second I pulled down but he repositioned it back with like pure gorilla strength.

    • @mac3770
      @mac3770 5 років тому

      Basically my previous tactic would be to use same side hand as his chokinig arm to pull down on the wedge and turn hoping to grab his side with my other arm. It did not work on that bouncer though.

    Better carry a knife or two so you can pull it out and stab, if you can. You can articulate it, because your life at that moment is literally in danger.
    The knife of course you have to be fast to get the person off of you.
    I'm a proponent of two knife carry, one on each side. Where you place them is your choice.
    Just be able to articulate why you stabbed or cut the other person.
