It's just him really, so much cringe in what you are saying ...
"The gods work through" ?? like it's not his work, his achievement ?? like the fool Floki in the TV show who said it was the gods making his boats ??
"gods work in mysterious ways" you say that to things you don't understand, things you can't explain, your comment is literaly insulting einar's hard work ...
In any case if "the gods" you are talking about even existed, they are most likely dead by now, stop living in a tv show ...

    • @kimpa843
      @kimpa843 5 років тому +22

Oh and here's a quote from him, in case you thought he's some cringy ass "old gods worshiper" :
"I am a strong supporter of individual responsibility. No one died for my sins. This is a slightly pagan body of thought: the gods help those who help themselves. It mirrors that you are your own god, that it is your responsibility how you behave, what you contribute in this world."

@@kimpa843 ; I've read your comment and the one that came to reply to you and I'd rather take a less emotional approach then both of you(getting irate with eachother).
First of all, all religious beliefs, even Satanism(the belief in ones self that you describe) is based off of "old gods/old holidays\old symbols etc" it's all adapted and melded to form what they use to represent themselves.
If you don't believe in organized religion, you should be aware that you're embracing an ideal that when practiced, has many roots in older religions, regardless of how you choose to "practice" for lack of better words.
Einar is a secularist, it means he believes *everything* has a spiritual importance(some take that as far as inatimate objects) everything.
This means to him music can be spiritual, and while working on a project inspired by his roots, a part of which culteraly, and by extension many other religions and customs extend(many modern holidays, traditions, hisotrically documented "Christian rights" within royalty, come from, you guessed it, "old gods", and stories of the gods that came before the Christian ones or indeed even Satanist, or other adaptations.
In being disrespectful to his roots, you are far more insulting to not only his work, the very heritage he draws from for music you claim to enjoy(why would you be here) but also every rite, holiday, tradition, etc that in some way originated form the very things you insult(tales of the gods)and the rites of those who celebrated, hunted, etc by it) not for their sake or your belief or not, but for the sake that these traditions, slightly altered renaimed, and adapted became the very traditions that your country follows.
They made slight aalterations so it can be "tied to Christianity".
You're insulting the groundwork that got adapted so that your country has its traditions.
Yes they believed and such in ways that even modern Odanists/Heathens/Pagans\Wiccans, may not, but the point in respecting the roots of something even if you don't follow it, is being educated enough to not by association, be disrespecting what even your modern traditions are based on which even Atheists and Agnostics "do"(they have a Christmas tree/Yule tree often, etc it's just not spiritually tied for them.)

@@mathewrichter3941 "you are an idiot", so that makes you better than me doesn't it ?
It's all about you really, you are so selfish, "your religion" Einar is part of, you are right and i am wrong that's it ?
He is not an "actual pagan" go ask him, he will tell you to not put words on people's beliefs, it's personnal, dont' try to put him in your place.
You are a sheep if you believe that "gods" gift prose etc to men, go wait that something good is gifted to you little sheep, dont' make it happen ...
it's just hard work, talent just comes by hard working on something you like.
You are judging anime it's fiction, it's art, something your closed spirit seems to not comprehend, but oh wait real life fiction you like that don't you ?
Cuz that's all it is really, fiction, your religion is a lie, and if it doesn't make you a better man it's a pointless one.
Anime gives me inspiration, motivation just like some tv shows or some movies does.
It makes me want to be a better man to do things better.
So go your way and I will go mine and don't assume Einar's way you narcissic selfish basterd.

At the end of the song I can hear this rumbling, building bass sound at the bottom, which becomes more and more powerful by the second. Every musician increases his dynamics and it explodes on the echo you can hear just for a second after they have finished the song. It's amazing! I can feel how you are playing this song with such passion because of it. I really like this acoustic version. The entire performance is fluid, an aunthetic gift. Thank you.

I share Einar Selvik's songs with my Facebook friends in Nigeria and Morocco. They love it, and Moroccan music sounds quite similar to Mr. Selvik's work. A lot of people aren't aware of the amount of contact the Norse had with North Africa and the Middle East, but there are numerous historical documents of it that are supported by archeological evidence.

It's truly amazing! And some of those folks came back with the Vikings voluntarily! There's even evidence that shows that Old Norse and Sandskrit have similar etymological roots. It sucks that people cover it up so that the Vikings and their culture can continue to be a white supremacist power fantasy. The Vikings, and the people that came before them, are more than a balm for insecurity.
