- Welcome to Part 01 of our FIRST EVER playthrough of Final Fantasy 7 Remake- today I experience a FF game for the first time!! I can't believe I have never played a game from this series and I'm so excited to get to share this with you all! The game starts off with a BANG as enter the dystopian city of Midgar on a mission to sabotage a Mako Reactor!!
Watch as we take control of Cloud Strife and meet the colorful cast of characters that will be joining us on our mission to stop the evil mega corp Shinra!
Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade, is an action role-playing game by Square Enix and was released for PlayStation 5 and Windows in 2021. Final Fantasy VII Remake is the first in a planned trilogy of games remaking the original 1997 PlayStation game FF7. Set in the metropolis of Midgar, players control the mercenary Cloud Strife as he joins AVALANCHE, an eco-terrorist group trying to stop the powerful megacorporation, known as Shinra, from using the planet's life essence as an energy source.

The original FF7 is the best game ever made. This Remake is a real love letter for that game. I'm so happy it makes so many people join this world, but also it makes many play and love the original too!

Aeriths theme is heavely inspired by Celes. Sephiroth is not near on that level as Kefka. The whole One winged angel is inspired by Kefkas winged appearance. Aerith singing in Theatre? Ah yes thats the very conic Celes scene in Theatre singing again!
And so on. 6 is THAT good of a game, that 7 had many inspiration of it! XD

Man, Final Fantasy's original score/soundtrack is in a class of it's own! Golly I get tingles hearing the fantastic soundscapes everytime, its so immersive and energizing

Well now, you're in for quite a journey. You just popped in my feed but I subscribed to follow along. Remake is a trilogy, which is both an actual remake and sleeping 5th entry into a compilation of prequels/sequels to the story of the original ff7.
Welcome to your first journey into Final Fantasy VII, and Final Fantasy as a whole. Every numbered entry is another world, another story, another adventure.
A quick spoiler free primer... Midgar is a city-state, and the largest most advanced city in the world. It is run by a corporate government that through money and backdoor dealings, has taken control from thr Republic of Junon (the second largest most advanced city in the world, and the former capital of the nation). There is an entire world out there, but this first of three games focuses on the city-state of Midgar, which was built upon 8 towns, which became its 8 sectors. (There's actually 9 sectors, the headquarters is Sector 0). You start in sector 1, and during your escape in chapter 2 you will be in sector 8. When you open the menu there is a button to see a 3d map at any time to show where you are in the city as a whole.
A note: keep track of expressions to catch what characters are thinking. This story runs several layers deep, with symbolism everywhere (a simple example, Barret and his glasses; with them on he puts up a front, with them off you get the teddy bear behind the act.). Anime style noises help to direct you to important expressions. Example at 17:07 "I should know this, why cant I remember? What would a cool person say?"

Loving the playthrough so far! As someone that knows the game very well, watching her shoot the weak point at the back... while standing in front of it... was mildly frustrating... but I've done far stupider things while playing games so understandable lmao.

you picked the best final fantasy to start with as difficulty curve is easy. It has great in game tutorials. The Story is just amazing too. I really pumped for Rebirth after wanting those Previews. Decided not to play the demo as its only 11 days to go. Also you can guard and counter with cloud in punisher mode on non red attacks it works wonders on riot shield enemys.
Glad I found you through Baldur’s Gate 3 …which I never finished but FF7 is favorite , and I loved Remake back in 2020. I would watching people experience Remake for the first time.

Jessie is voiced by Erika Lindbeck. At the beginning you mention Night City so you would know her as Misty in Cyberpunk 2077. She’s pretty prolific. She’s Magilou in Tales of Berseria, Cassie Cage in Mortal Kombat 11, and many more things.
Tifa is Brit Baron, who was in GLOW on Netflix, Aerith is the streamer Strange Rebel Gaming. Biggs is Gideon Emery who is also prolific. Cloud is Cody Christianson who did some TV acting. Wedge and Barrett are also big actors. Meanwhile the girl in sector 7 slums who keeps track of your monster kill count is UA-camr Brizzy Voices, and UA-camr Arin Hanson (Game Grumps, EgoRaptor) does several minor Additional Voices.
I have a love of Voice Actors and knowing their filmographies. Kind of a hobby.
No spoilers, but you are in for a treat. Cant wait to see you play FF7 Rebirth eventually as well

yes, ATB is quite important. back then on original, it was even the only mechanic of doing all things.
there was no "filler" actions while waiting for ATB going full (because OG FF7 was completely turn based, with option to play with either active ATB where enemies have their own real-time turns and don't wait for player's input, or passive ATB where enemies will wait their next turn indefinitely until the player issued a command on ATB-filled character), the other difference is, there was only one ATB on each character. Classic control mode lets the system do these filler actions automatically while giving the ATB parts being handled by players, is now the closest thing that made FF7R feels similar OG FF7.
though FF7R now have more than 1 ATB charges per character, it's usually still better to consume one of them whenever they're available (unless for certain actions that benefit from consuming more, like Barret's Focused Shot, more ATB charges consumed = more damage and stagger). they're not supposed to be kept at 100% for too long, and they're not being carried over to the next battle session.

Take your time with this one and explore your surroundings because they're chest and items. This game has great looking environments and 🎶 ✨️👏 . . . You're doing really good. 👍
Glad to have you on board the final fantasy train, or whatever you want to call it. Ff7 might be my favourite game ever, and I'm thrilled with how they caught the vibe in remake, which you'll see. Don't listen to people saying "you should play this" or whatever, the developers made this game in mind to be as appealing to brand new final fantasy gamers as well as the old ones. Remake is supposed to be many peoples first foray into the franchise, so it's all good, I've seen a couple of "well ackhtually"s in the comment section, ignore them. Enjoy my favourite game of all time.
So I finally was able to get to watch this play through of CH. 1 and 2. & I was trying to figure out what the heck Rebirth was.. and now I know it’s the sequel. I need to catch up before the new one comes out. 😅 - Hope you’ve been enjoying the game though!

Yeah... I counted at least three key moments in the intro ALONE. You cannot be staring at chat. Not with this game.
Kinda. People can understand the basic story just fine without absorbing every single cutscene. Though I agree, streamers that stare at chat during critical scenes are a pet peeve of mine. Paige isn't the worst by any means, she's just highly social.
I highly doubt she'd have played this game to begin with, had her community not pressured her. Maybe we hold off on the fan-gating for now. She seems to be enjoying the game regardless!
Yeah, her seemingly missing the fact that Shinra caused a huge chunk of the explosion deliberately was... a little annoying? I would much prefer streamers look at chat during downtime rather than in the middle of integral cutscenes, but hey ho.
I just finished playing the demo. Tip. Dodge a lot and get behind enemies. Straight on attacks. Maximilian Dood has videos you can watch to learn more on lore. I'm pretty you will grow to love it. 😉👍
The best thing about Final Fantasy games is you can find one numbered game and just play those. VII has several games, movies and books associated with it’s universe. X is also a good one (and rumoured to take place in the same universe, which none of the others overlap at all). VII is by far the most beloved of them, as it was the first to move away from a medieval setting.
interesting that she recognized Cloud from Smash Bros. but not Sephiroth, hope you enjoy the game, its one of the greats

This is probably the best game to start with. I never really wanted to be that interested in the Final Fantasy 7 Story because the game is so outdated graphically and I’m not prepared to handle that for 80+ hours..
I adore how this game looks exactly like the OG, but 100% better ❤❤
And by the way, you did decent job with the fights in the beginning, considering the craziness of them mechanics

Og FF7 is like a 35-40 hours game and with 3x speed and no random encounter functions on the new ports it's like 25 hours.
And the steam version got a lot of mods with a lot of futures!

luckily all final fantasy games are in there own universe so they don't have anything to do with each other, final fantasy OG 7 was my second FF game and it still remains my fave of all and FF7 remake is a great recreation of the first section of the original, i was worried at first of making a 3 or so hour part of the original into a stand alone game but i was so happy with the result.

For the most part every Final Fantasy is its own standalone thing the only point of commonality that I can remember is that some enemies are shared by some of the games.
they often share thematic elements. "summons" in the series are re-used quite often, but sometimes they vary, and other games don't have materia. "gil" is the common currency in pretty much all of them, as well as chocobos. oh and there's almost always a "Cid", that's a fun recurring character archetype
im new to your channel and i really loved this game even as a fan of the og ff7! a lot of fans can be really toxic, but i hope that doesnt take away your enjoyment of the game. if you like it, then that's all that matters :) cant wait for the rest of your playthrough!

Remake is utterly fantastic, start to finish. Just bear with mild pacing issues during some chapters. It's worth the patience! 😉
Bit late at this point but the weak point to shut off the shield was on the scorpions ass and u kept shooting it/hitting it from the front doing almost no damage or bouncing. Just for future reference if you ever replay the game.
Use fire spells against humans, lighting spells vs machines, and aero/wind spells vs flying enemies. Little pro tip.

The scorpion boss fight is a lot easier imo as Barrett, until you get master thunder magic materia's... then this fights walk in the park.
With Cloud just keep attacking. And just spells and items when you needed. It's a quicker and more satisfying way to take down enemies. 👍

The best way to beat the Scorpion at the beginning. It says weak spot on his ass. Just use Cloud and run right up under it's tail and keep spamming the square button.

Welcome to the addiction! Shoulda played the og first! But gotta start somewhere!
Combat help. Switch to normal classic if it gets stressful. You can still control or let them do their own thing. The characters automatically do the best environment strategies for boss fights, showing you what to do. Also let's you take a step back and learn the party system, command system, etc.
Also, set the battle camera to zoom out more to make it easier to find environment changes, as each time the scorpion goes to use the laser more debris fell down, that you'd have to retreat to. Basically it's a "get away from me" move.
Enemies take more damage from behind than in front. For the scorpion you had to ram your sword in its butt.
More advanced help: earn ATB fastest by attacking. Leveling needs to be done but you'll get tutorials when it is time, and it's done to weapons for actual choices. The rest is done automatically but any time you get an "Orb of # materia" you should see if you can equip it. Different characters are better for different tasks. Better to dodge than block if you can. Better to use environment to tank than to have to dodge if possible.
You should play the original final fantasy 7 when you get a chance. That way you can compare the original details over the new ones. A lot changes have been introduced into the remake.

Dont know where you get the idea to jump into amazing games I've played, but keep it up, this is why I'm here. This world might be a little different from what a witch is used to; it's all industrial and machines, technology and magic fusion like He-Man, remember He-Man? It's like that. Also, don't rely too much on potions to heal, healing magic heals far more HP, but it has to be cast, leaving you open more than if you take a potion, it's a balancing act. But magic can level up, potions can't

Watched your entire witcher 3 series my fav game ever but please dont make this be your first final fantasy experience the 7(original)8 9 even 10 were amazing. Like these were genre defining rpgs before the witcher .. the new ones are complete shit ..

I grew up playing the OG final Fantasy on NES so I have a few years on you 😅 and I think maybe growing up on the older ones is why I always thought OG 7 was the most overrated FF game next to 10, but Remake changed that. Adding Remake to the compilation makes 7 the second best in my opinion next to 6. Nothing will ever beat 6 for me personally.
