I love how Cloud politely knocks on the door and waits for his mother to open at his own home, but just busts right into Tifa's house without any consideration 😂

36:00 Apparently, it actually pays attention to how well you play the piano. Saw someone else who really just keysmashed instead of trying to actually play something and Barrett told him "don't quit your day job."
In the orignal game if you played a song you found, I think? somewhere in the house, you could find Tifa a special limit break later when you went to town.

8 minutes in, and I'm laughing my ass off. A SOLDIER just took out a helicopter by throwing a chunk of steel and concrete at it like he's King Kong, and you say "C'mon, let's get him"?!
Because apparently he can't survive bullets. WELL AT LEAST HE USED TO BE!
Could not be happier with the opening section they chose. They really wanted to throw us in the deep end right away, immediately playing with heavy story stuff.
Lots of delightful surprises and really great details from minute 1 of Rebirth.
Of course, in my game the mission to find Sephiroth has been suspended, pending the completion of the new mission which is to become the best Queen's Blood player of all time. Once Cloud becomes King of Games maybe then we'll deal with that guy or whatever.
Its so cool seeing how they made sephy so likeable and amiable in the beginning. Its weird seeing him that way but gives his character even more depth. 💜 the original did a good job at that but this one just brings a whole new level.
So, Tifa was a horse (chocobo) girl when she was a teenager?

and he already mashed through the tutorial explaining ranged attacks and air combat so pray he figures it out eventually and doesn't ignore it the entire playthrough

100% it’s the best part! Right after Jesse offhandedly guessing the whole plot a quarter way in.
When Tiffa excitedly says "yes," it will be clipped and used in so many black and orange tube vids.
I can’t watch all of this right away since I need to stay ahead in my own playthrough, but I got to just say, it’s such a treat watching you play this Jesse 🤗 also so happy I turned in for the crisis core streams, having tried to play ff7 original and having the crisis story in the back of my mind while experiencing Rebirth is so much fun!
So glad I waited to watch this. I'm stuck at the dentist and it's a the perfect distraction while I wait! Can't wait to watch more. Just a few minutes in and everything is crazy 😮

I stayed up until midnight last night to play this. I'm too old to be doing that and I'm paying for it now but I'm so glad I did. I got up until the Kalm Morning part, so I'll have to wait to finish this video. But I really enjoy watching Jesse play the game. And the game is amazing so far. I can't wait until I can get back into it tonight. This is truly something special

I just realized the scene with sephiroth and why or part of the reason why he was able to show up there to cloud at the inn.

My prediction, having just watched the opening, is that Zac is in the lifestream and it is preparing him in some way to aid or protect Aerith when she needs to cast holy.
Ooh, that's a fun theory. Might explain the differences between this opening and Intermission's ending for him.
I also avoided the demo and didn't play any of this until my stream yesterday. So glad to have experienced it fresh!

I am only just finishing the mountain of side quets in grasslands and am in love. The ease to swap between party. The fact equipped materia gains AP on non active party memebes (aside from combat sym), the SO on and SO on. I love it
I am so sad for Jesse on his first run missing those, but the good news is you can go back and only be redoing a few hours.
Usually I watch these long ones in spurts but this one I had to watch all the way through, they did great!

Spoilers for first 10 minutes of the game
I just realized, at the end of the Yuffie DLC Zack is at Aerith's temple trying to figure out how he should say he's there, but then at the beginning of this game we see him just after the end of Remake still walking with Cloud, which then goes right into him finding Aerith and her dying in his arms, so why would he need to reintroduce himself? Either the Yuffie DLC scene takes place further into the game and he was in denial she died, or there's somehow a third timeline where he was still a SOLDIER (because he was clean during it meaning he wasnt attacked by all of the TROOPERs)? I'm so confused as to what's going on and can't wait to see what this game has to add

I love these games and what they're doing but that part of the Nibelheim fire just reinforces my need for Squeenix to stop having guns in their narratives because they apparently do not know how to write scenes with guns in them. I don't need it explained to me WHY they didn't shoot, I understand all the implied reasons but it doesn't matter. It takes so long and looks so goofy it takes me out of the scene. Either have them shoot and fail or DON'T GIVE THEM ALL GUNS. It's not an unsolvable problem, but it is left unsolved.

2:38 "Yo, that was a different dog" Stamp? Yeah, I think I've seen people wondering if Stamp's design changing was just another sign that we're now on a different timeline (compared to the original FF7). It was a beagle before, but now it's a terrier.
10:05 That scene where the white materia falls from her hair is reminiscent of the corresponding one from the original FF7, so it does seem she really died on that timeline at least (this are Steins;Gate/"equivalent exchange" shenanigans happening here).

2:28:05 A multiverse is just a bunch of alternate timelines (parallel universes), and that definitely could be a thing considering both Sephiroth and Aerith seem to have knowledge about other timelines. Also, there was a scene at the end of the FF7 remake that showed Zack bringing Cloud back to Midgar right as Cloud was leaving Midgar with the party. Some people wondered if that could have been just a flashback overlapped with the scene that shows them leaving Midgar, but that would create a contradiction with the fact Aerith is still alive here.

My guess so far is beating the Whispers at the end of Remake caused the timelines to temporarily merge, then they 'mostly' split and the events of Remake happened in Zacks timeline but deverged around the time of the fight... i recon the 'alternate' team was crushed by the expressway that the Whispers saved them from in the Remake

I don't understand why Cloud feels like he still has to keep secrets after he left Shrina. Why can't he tell Tifa about the past 5 years? is it because he doesn't want to admit he has no memory, he has no memory of getting accepted into soldier but somehow magically ended up as one. I played and loved the original game but still have a little trouble with everything involved, it's complicated

I hope he realizes quick, everyone skips the basic tutorial parts expecting its 100% the same info from remake, and doesn’t learn about the ranged attack/air attacks or perfect blocking I noticed lol
Even though the TV broadcast was Live, the radio COULD be a recording, rather than a sign of these events occurring at the same time, I’m not clear on the exact media technology they have
