Great! Thanks for the real world report! After having ours for more than one year, I can’t really find anything to complain about. Overall, it seems like a great value.
I’m curious if anyone has a system to say set a 5 gallon gas can next to it, and have it feed from that? Feeding it every 90 minutes seems… like an issue.
Sean, you have outdone yourself! This video was hilarious (LOVED the music!) while being informative. You and Kristy are, by far, my favorite RV tubers!
My 2500 watt Champion just couldn’t run my RV air conditioner even with a soft start installed. Along with my residential refrigerator. Bought this same generator and ran it during a boondocking stay in Florida last month. Totally impressed with it! Sure glad to see your review and endorsement. I’ve learned so much from your videos over the years Sean. Appreciate your efforts to contribute honest reviews to the RV community.
We added a soft start to our ac also, hoping to only need one of the Yamaha 2200 generators. It started and ran the ac at home....but on the road with the fridge running, one just wouldn't do it. So, we have two Yamaha's but sure didn't want to haul both. We may consider this one as it's light enough for me to handle and has more wattage!

Just as a FYI. MAX Peeding Rods, is manufactured by Dinking Power / Genmax. They also make several generators for other companies. The new 145cc 164F engine has been getting excellent reviews and proving to be a contender for compact suitcase generators. The size of the Honda eu2200i but with more power. The pulsar 4000 is the same unit but in gas and a dual fuel version, the genmax 3500 is also the same. Im a dual fuel man myself. But these are impressive units. Funny video, always enjoy LoLoHo…👍🏼
I have one of these and am completely satisfied with it. It puts out full advertised output and is very quiet to boot. Long term reliability is another issue and only time will tell. However, parts and service are available but not easily. Definately worth the money
i like my older honda eu3000. it is paid for. i installed auto start. and a extended full system. auto start is great. can turn it on from inside my rv. and not worry about the furl level with a five gallon + the factory fuel supply. all hard mounted to my rv so it can not walk away. and a hard cover for bad weather. also acts like a second layer for sound. then a exhaust piping that go two feet above my rv roof so no fumes or gasses to worry about. or gag on.
I'm checking into the dual fuel generators because I don't like carrying gasoline. Do you have experience with them at higher altitudes---say over 7,000 feet? We live in Colorado and often are at 8-10,000 feet and have heard that the propane doesn't work well with that altitude.
Still… nothing beats the remote control of the Champion gen set. It has held up over many years and powers our RV reliably. Not sure how long that unit (in the video) would last.
I bought this unit in 2023 to save weight while boondocking. It works great. I have a 26 ft TT with twin shwintek slides that can be an electric hog. It runs my AC. I recommend it.
Great to hear! Thanks so much for the real world report. Yes, it offers a great weight savings and also a space savings over most 3000 W models. Overall, it seems like very good value. Glad to hear it runs your AC.
Thanks I just bought one....been seriously eyeing generators preparing for Floridas upcomimg storm predictions. this thing seems to be just what i need
I think you will enjoy it. If you look in the comments here, another viewer said he has been running his air conditioner with this exact same unit for the past couple of years and it has worked out great.
We have had this generator for a while now. Love it. Our 2200 watt would not quite run our air even with an easy start. It did on our Solitude but we now have a Brinkley and for some reason the Briggs 2200 watt would not run the air. The Maxpeeding rod does a beautiful job and really isn't bigger than our 2200 watt was.. Burlington Bill busking on the road and here on you tube.
You know, you guys inspired me to cross the North Atlantic on Queen Mary 2. I was just idly watching videos of ships in storms, and I came upon your channel, and I got the ocean liner bug. Thanks for putting it up a few years ago.
Have you done it yet? We have done three transatlantic crossings on the QueenMary 2. Each was a surprisingly different experience. We have not done one in many years, and I would like to get back on the ship again. If you have the time, it’s a fantastic way to get back-and-forth between North America and England.
Bought the MXR 3500 and used with Hurricane Helene and Milton. Ran like a charm, but the spark plug gap was incorrect. I regacpped and bought backup plugs (NGK's CR5HSA). Ran for about 4-4.5 hours per full tank, while running my fridge, Window AC unit, Computers and big screen TV. Total run time so far about 60 hours. Best $522 (with tax) I ever spent.
Thanks for your real world report! Hope you are doing OK after the hurricanes. Yes, having one of these units on hand for emergency power is a no-brainer. I’m pleased to hear that yours is working well for you.
Hi Sean, Thanks for the review! After seeing this I looked into their company and found they make the MXR 3500S duel-fuel. Comes with an electric start and a remote!! You should check it out!! I just received mine and it works great!!! And it still passes the tonneau cover test!!!
I will definitely check it out! I’ve had some other people ask about dual fuel options. So maybe I will end up doing a sequel to this review. 😂 thanks for the info!
That looks pretty nice! I'd be interested to see more of a comparison with the "yellow brand" since that's probably it's biggest competitor. Weight, noise, runtime...
Yes, the quietest generator I ever heard was a Honda 3000u (I think that's what it's called) being used by Parks Canada. I was 5 feet away and didn't even know it was running. All these companies that use 21 or 23 feet as the reference point do that because they know they can't come close to the Honda. Edit: Even the Honda 2000i is too loud for me.
Question, did you test the output watts? I’ve grown skeptical of Chinese stat’s on products. I have several 900,000+ lumen flashlights that are less than my 3000 lumen Sofirin SC 33
He put a 2k watt load on it and said it runs his AC (watts = ?). He really should buy a Watts Up and test it at 3k watts but apparently he's too busy making warning labels.
Thanks for this. We are boondocking with friends right now and have borrowed their generator to top off our batteries. Our first time using a generator. Hate the noise, but love the power. This X-peeing-ator generator might be perfect for us. Small and cheap! - Jim
Well, we trust you! You have always come through with great advice. We needed a lighter generator, and this fits the bill! Amazon will deliver tomorrow !
I hope you like it! For the price, I think it’s tough to beat. Since posting this video, I’ve heard from some other owners of this unit and they have been pleased. One guy has been using it for two years to run his air conditioner and is happy with it.
Hilarious! Thanks for another fun installment of LOLOHO! How did you get Brad Paisley and Waylon Jennings to sing those songs that I’m certain you wrote? 😉
Can it keep the rig cool while the hair dryer is running too?? Will it get close to the 3000W output?? Nice that it has the TT30 plug for sure! PS: amazing accompaniment for the video too!!
That's a nice generator for the price if it lasts and they support it. But, I think people need to be reminded that buying something like that to chase a low price is a gamble. You don't have any idea how long it will last and if parts will be available when and if you need them. Rolling the dice and hoping is one way to go. If hope doesn't work out and you need a $3.00 part for that 3 years from now which can't be found anywhere your actual cost will be at least double. That's because because you'll be buying another one to replace it.
Yes, I mentioned something along these lines towards the end of the video. That is one reason that I am often hesitant to recommend brands that I don’t know. Overall, I think it is a great deal, but with the caveat that I don’t know much about this company and their long-term customer support. I did make one miss statement in the video, and that concerns the warranty, it appears that the warranty is two years, not one year. Depending on how people look at it, it may be worth the gamble to pick up this low-cost generator, considering the value for the price. We received a few comments from other owners, and so far everyone who has commented has been pleased with their unit.
Nice job with the custom music to fit the generator review. I suppose the small fuel team would be a drawback. I have the Predator 3500 Inverter Generator from Harbor Freight that I purchased new six years ago at Harbor Freight Tools. It's been great, and parts are readily available from their customer service team. I can't believe you found a generator that is that small and light with a 3500 W starting power rating. It's the same as my Predator at half the weight. I think I paid $650 for my Predator 3500.
We got one two years ago and it has been working well so far. We have used it in all kinds of weather from cold and snowing to warm and rain. It has enough power to power our trailers AC unit without any issues. Like I said so far so good.
Thanks for your real world report! Yes, after owning this unit for more than a year, I can’t really find anything to complain about. It gets the job done and is great value for the money.
@ a certain point price has to be a consideration. Hell buy two and only use 1 and if it ever dies you have a back up and you still have an extra $300 plus tax to keep you warm.
Ilike MaXpeeding Rods brand, I have a adjustable track bar and adjustable control arms for my Dodge Truck. Saved me hundreds of dollars. Vevor is another good knock off brand for part time equipment. I have the Harbor Freight 3500 but it's pretty big compared. I'm a Contractor and some things I buy name brand, others knock off. It's a cost/benefit analysis for sure.
I just bought a new generator that is completely identical to this one but it is a: Pulsar 4000W Super Quiet Inverter Gasoline Powered Generator with Recoil Start and CO Shutdown, PGD40ISCO. It is the same identical generator but it comes with a 3 year warranty and cost me $471.00
Would have liked to see it run a 3000 watt load and seen the output frequency on a oscilloscope. (true sine wave?) This company has it's headquarter in China.....
I want to know the vertical height of this generator. I have a tractor supply metal box bolted to a bumper hitch carrier on the back of my van and it is only 18 or 19 inches tall inside and my champion 2000w inverter generator barely fits in it. I like my champion 2000 but it doesn't like my air fryer. It will run it but you can tell it's stressing! Seems like I buy a generator every year or 2 at this point but every time I find the "perfect one" I find something better. I'll probably keep my champion though because powers whatever I need and it hasn't failed me yet!
When I went to your Walmart link in your description I saw that there is at least one other brand selling the exact same generator. That brand was Pulsar.
Interesting. I wish I knew about this before I bought a Predator 3500 that weighs 98 lbs dry weight. I do need a generator to run the RV A/C. The Predator does that fine. I would have liked to see you hook it up to your travel trailer. But I guess I'm not buying another generator soon, not until the Predator dies.
As a small engine mechanic, my only concern for anything like that is repairability. I have a pile of the no brand, two cycle snd the CHEAP ones out back that are SCRAP because they are not worth repairing, period. Cheaper does NOT mean better when it comes to future repairs. I have a 20 year old Honda portable that still runs like new. I can buy parts for it all day long. Even some of the old Coleman and Craftsman generators are still repairable compared to the ones I have in that pile.
Yes, that has always been my concern when approaching "no name" brands. I also wonder what kind of customer service (and parts availability) will exist in the future if and when things go wrong. There are definitely tradeoffs, and when you pay more for one of the major brands you are also buying into that warranty and customer support experience. With that said, we have had problems with both our Yamaha and Champion generators that were only fixed when we opened the cases ourselves and did the work in our own garage. With any of these generators, it helps tremendously if you are able to diagnose and repair on your own.
It appears to be a good product, but time will tell I suppose. We have had our Yamaha 2400 for 14 years now and it's still going strong. With that one year warranty on this orange generator, I wonder if it will still be blowing and going 14 years from now? Thank you for the overview! Happy trails.
Yes, I agree that part of what you are expecting from the more expensive brands is better longevity. We have had excellent experience overall with Yamaha. But I have to say that our Champion has also held up quite well. But typically, with the blue and red brands, you get superior noise performance.
I've been looking at small generators for a while and have yet to make a purchase. One thing I don't see in most reviews is how good is the companies support? Can you get parts? This particular generator has 8% one star reviews and 15% 3 stars or below. It also looks to be sold under other brands such as Pulsar, GenMax and AIVolt. The company that makes these is not the same as the company selling/branding them which is a red flag.
Very interesting inverter generator but I was thinking that if you could connect 2 for 6000 watts and it only has 1.1 gallon capacity for gasoline why not make a auxiliary fuel tank for it say 5 gallons. Ed in Partlow Virginia.
any idea how it does at delivering the 3000W continuous wattage for longer than a few seconds? I had another orange brand one that advertised an inverter generator at 2000w continuous, but it struggled to light a 100w lightbulb. I got rid of it.
When you turned on the heat on the hair dryer, it seemed to stumble a bit. The electronics of the eco mode would have me concerned, with my Honda it’s flawless.
Love the generator theme song, it was sweet! We’ll need a long-term test for this new brand. Quick question Sean, is taking my little shih-tzu baby with us to Grand Teton/Yellowstone a bad idea? I know there are many places we’d have to leave her in the truck while sight-seeing & I wonder if it would be too hot in late August/early September.
Cheap is a relative term. They are NOT cheap. $1300 is NOT cheap. Also, you want pure sine wave output and at the maximum rating too. Many lie about the capacity - they list PEAK output and not RUNNING output. Huge difference too.
thanks for showing the new generator but more importantly what in the world did you use to make that song and is that all you voice? I GOTTA have that PA setup if one exists !
The "Yellow" brand is likely based off of the Ducar 1600w suitcase inverter generator. I have found this unit (in Ducar trim) to be extrememly reliable and fuel efficient. But it does not have the power to run a table saw, or even my older corded circular saw. It would be interesting to see you put this MXR under a heavier load than a hair dryer - which typically only uses 1500w or so. I would also like to know how this unit stands up to extensive use, say after it's had a dozen or more oil changes... Thanks for the review, and putting this inverter on my radar. For the record I have heard of MaXpeedingRods in the past, I believe they make car parts.
I will do some more testing with this unit. There have been several comments here beneath the video from other owners who have good things to say about it. One guy says he has been using his to run his air conditioner on his RV for the past couple of years and has no complaints. Agree with you about the long-term durability questions. This is one reason I am usually quite skeptical of brands with which I am not familiar. It’s easy to be happy when everything is working the way it should. But once something goes wrong, having good customer support, and parts availability makes a huge difference in the ownership experience. Thanks for your comments!
Great review and a good refresher on the warning labels. Could do without the AI generated "musik" though.... I'd rather listen to an open frame generator.
No, I have not had that problem. In fact, I ended up doing this video because after a year I could not really find anything about the generator to complain about, especially for the price.

Shutdown, PGD40ISCO. It is the same identical generator but it comes with a 3 year warranty and cost me $471.00
I’ll be darn. It is exactly the same unit.
Does it have usb ports?
@@shouldibehere Yes it does.
Not in the market for another generator, but as always, enjoyed your entertaining video. 😍🤩
Parts availability? What happens when it breaks? Any service network? I have my doubts
Would have liked to see it run a 3000 watt load and seen the output frequency on a oscilloscope. (true sine wave?) This company has it's headquarter in China.....
I would like to know if you can get it serviced or buy ANY parts (carb or carb kit) for it. If the inverter board fails is it a paperweight?
@@techguy9023 Sounds like there could be a lot of apprehension.
Great review.
Looks like a clone of the original Generac/Craftsman 3000i series, same size and also had 30A outlets; newer models are 3300/3000 watts.
How long would you think it would last a 25ft Airsream running an AC unit before refilling with gas? Just an estimate?
Interesting. I wish I knew about this before I bought a Predator 3500 that weighs 98 lbs dry weight. I do need a generator to run the RV A/C. The Predator does that fine. I would have liked to see you hook it up to your travel trailer. But I guess I'm not buying another generator soon, not until the Predator dies.
Will it run for a full 8 hours on 1.1 gallons of gas?
Thanks for the entertaining warning labels! 😂
I'm sharing this video with a friend who might be looking for a new generator
Should have a 2+ gallon fuel tank to run a RV A/C all night. Thanks for sharing.
Great review Sean. Thanks👍
Do you know if they have a propane adapter?
Thanks.
Very interesting inverter generator but I was thinking that if you could connect 2 for 6000 watts and it only has 1.1 gallon capacity for gasoline why not make a auxiliary fuel tank for it say 5 gallons. Ed in Partlow Virginia.
Nice Rod!!
😂
Be interested to see how it handles AC running highs on a hot day.
any idea how it does at delivering the 3000W continuous wattage for longer than a few seconds? I had another orange brand one that advertised an inverter generator at 2000w continuous, but it struggled to light a 100w lightbulb. I got rid of it.
great warning stickers
There is also a dual fuel version.
thanks for showing the new generator but more importantly what in the world did you use to make that song and is that all you voice?
Not 100% sure, but I think this orange one is a Ducar built generator also.
@@BKD70 If that's true it's getting bumped up on the short list! 👍
Tried to order it from Amazon but they will not ship to my address. I'm in California, dagnabit!
Sounds like it needs another warning label!
Amazon says it can't deliver to my address. Guess it's nor CARB complaint plus it also says it's non-returnable. Bummer.
A3500w inverter should have a 50amp plug.
I have 2 3500 inverters and they have 50 amp plugs
Great review and a good refresher on the warning labels. Could do without the AI generated "musik" though.... I'd rather listen to an open frame generator.
The person responsible has been sacked!
Great tunes! They should really work on their brand name. 🤦🏻♂️
would it be safe to charge my EcoFlow Delta if solar charging or another alternative wasn't available?
How many hours does its last on a full tank?
If you can find it use non-ethonal gas. More expensive but wil likely run it longer.
Sean - when running did it shut down unexpectedly at all due to CO2 sensor being to sensitive?
No, I have not had that problem. In fact, I ended up doing this video because after a year I could not really find anything about the generator to complain about, especially for the price.
I've always wondered if a sound dampening box w/ ventilation would work well
I may try my hand at making one. I have some sound deadening material that I bought for a car but never installed.
