Jared - have you abandoned the whole house in-line water filter body with replaceable cartridge filter that you were recommending a couple of years ago? If so, why?
Thanks for the info Jared. You, in my book, have to be one of the most “likable” individuals on UA-cam. You’re honest, sincere and genuine. I love your content, video editing and general “real-life” information you provide to the camping & RV Community. Thanks again and God Bless you and the family on your travels 🙏🏼⛺️
Watched your video... I turned out to be a 51 year old Nomad... Scared (yes) but away from abuse... "Truth"... Nothing helped me in this video but it was wonderful! Thank you!
The bug zappers are great. I bought a 3 pack at Costco 5 years ago (Harbor Freight didn't have them back then), and they are still going strong. I hang them on my awning and use them instead of the awning light to keep the bugs away from the door. Never thought about bringing them inside, I am going to have to do that this season!
We have done the same with the bug zappers inside. We have not, that I recall, have had issues with bugs when we sleep since doing so. We recommend it to everyone.
I made up a tool kit for our couple's camper with just about everything from HF. fuses, tape fasteners, multimeter, wire, clamps and a multi-tool all fit in a small tool box. Very handy.
We use the water filter and the flashlight. I'd like to try the water pump...for water... and get the lanterns for grandkids. They LOVE having their own lights. The bug zapper in the camper would be nice. I spend a great deal of time smashing bugs on the ceiling before going to bed. Thanks for the ideas!
Finally, the bug zapper has made it to a store. I found one in a Walmart in east Texas about two years ago in a display that implied it was something they were testing. Haven't seen it since and have wanted to get another one. The bug zapper does work, and I use the light instead of a flashlight inside the house. Only thing different is mine is orange, not black. The one unhappy feature is that it takes hours to recharge, but I guess that's a good thing cause it means it has a large battery. I can confirm I get at least the 20 hours mentioned here.
Ive used that bug zapper like you, just inside my rv to zap the skeeters before I go to bed. It really works! And that light feature is all I need to get ready for bedtime, saving my rig batteries.
We have found some very great values at Harbor Freight too! We have the waterproof tote and the wheel chocks. Love them! Thanks for this honest review of products.
I did not think about HF selling camping gear! We will be shopping there! I just bought one of the bug zappers from Amazon. I like tool carrier...right now I'm using ziplocks 😂. Great vid!
I've had the bug zapper for over a year and used it regularly to kill off the bugs that manage to get inside the camper. Walmart sells the same device. It works very well for what I use it for
I have some of those rechargeable pull lights. So far so good they seem to work great and last a very long time in between charges if I don't use them. I am very interested in the bug zapper mainly for that reason of having it up and running inside the RV. I have a large corded one for the outside but it's not feasible obviously to bring inside. Great idea thanks!
I had picked up a couple of the lanterns that pull up. I'm in Texas. We had an ice storm, freeze that took out the power for 6 days. These lanterns lasted the duration. I also keep one in my pick up and my bug out backpack. I would give them 10 stars. They are worth the money.
I’ve had 2 of the rechargeable bug zapper lights for two years and they are both going strong. I uses them frequently while building my campervan at night. Best deal for quality nitrile gloves, and definitely the best deal on zip ties!
I’ve had a couple of the small lanterns for our overland adventures for 3 years with no failures as of yet. I’ve gone through a few of the blue magnetic lights, not because the lights have failed but because I’ve broken them from my carelessness. At less than 2$ a pop or free during promotions I’ve usually got one or two floating around. Good video.
Great episode. We bent an axle while in Tampa on our TT. Harbor freight was 2 minutes away. We bought jacks, chain and straight edge and corrected it, for cheap! Great useful video.
My current favorite Harbor Freight tools are my extending ratchet and breaker bar. I have a nicer ratchet, but having the adjustable angle head and being able to extend it for extra leverage is nice.
I've got a box of those same gloves too. Great for if I have to work on anything greasy or deal with chemicals. I don't use them for dumping just because I have to really fight the twist locks sometimes and I've ripped thin rubber gloves before. I have a pair of waterproof vinyl gloves for that task that won't tear.
I have one of the bug zapper/light that I got from Menards. They are exactly alike. I love mine! Great bright light for when I have to take the dog out. They also fit down inside of the cup holder on your camping chair. With the zapper up you can enjoy a nice cup of hot chocolate in the evening without being bothered by bugs. Oh, yes, they are made so you can just wash the bugs out.
Whether you get them from Harbor Freight or Amazon those rubber wheel chocks should be standard equipment for all RVers. In fact if the big name that makes those plastic ones said "We know these suck and we're going to stop making them" I'd actually be more inclined to buy more of their products. The battery powered bug zapper is a nifty idea and I think the tactic to use it overnight to grab the bugs that follow you into the rig is a terrific application - curious to see if it lasts the summer.
I struggled with those lady beetles this year too. I vacuumed a few thousand out from between my slide seals before moving the slide in, at a couple of campsites. But no matter how well I got them out of every nook and cranny I could find, I'd still have at least 1 or 2 in the bathroom every morning, crawling around on the shower skylight wanting to get to the sun.
A couple of comments. The table looks nice. Will go look to buy. I use the gloves when working on my vehicles. I have never worn gloves for dumping, etc. Never an issue. Have owned motorhomes since 1979. Water filters. I have had motorhomes with filters, but don't go out of my way to filter. Municipalities spend many of our bucks to provide good water at the faucet. On the same subject, we do not buy bottled water and use the water from our water tank. Refer back to 1979.
Good video. What’s your thoughts on this? While driving, turn off the propane tank. Then plug in the AC 110 plug into a 12 volt to 110 volt inverter connected to the house battery ( that technically are being recharged by the engine alternator) thereby eliminating the chance of a propane fire. This would only be used while driving. Could run a generator but that burns extra gasoline. And if one have Solar, that too on a sunny drive will also keep the batteries charged/ topped off and the refrigerator running even at max if necessary.
We have the table and like it. and it stands up really well to hold meals or drinks in the cup holders or a book or other items - like making smores at the campfire. We also have the black chocks and they do work better than the yellow plastic ones.
LOL. NaCHO Daddy, what a genius name. NaCHO is the chemical formula for sodium citrate, which is what allows nacho cheese to become that lovely, runny texture that it's known for.
I don’t have one but have heard great things about their generators. Had one next to mine and we tested them. Both the 3500/4k. Theirs was quieter and ran longer on a tank of gas.
Kewl stuff! Bug zapper that works and is rechargeable for under $15!?? Heading out to buy one today? Like the table but don’t need it, have the lights, and gloves, still a great vid, THANKS
I have all of these HF products for our RV except the tote, and couldn't agree more with the utility. Some of the most useful stuff comes up as freebies or steep discounts are the things like bungee cords, zip ties, and don't forget the little lights that double as road hazard lights - every RV'er should have a half dozen of those!
The bug zapper, don't have the HF one but almost exact duplicate from Ozark Trail (WM brand) it has served its purpose so far. Bought last summer when our rig was swarmed with mosquitos in the UP. Still working.
Great review. I have a couple of these items but will be getting more. Not a Harbor Freight shopper normally and hadnt thought of going their for my travel trailer. Will do now.
Very good reviews. Some of the items I've used and have the same opinions you expressed. Harbor freight has come a long way over the years. I still approach some of the items with a little caution, but overall most times good items. God bless y'all and stay safe on your travels.
That little lantern was a life saver for us. Not in the RV, but on a trip to do some maintenance on the VRBO property. Tennessee storm blew in and knocked out all power. Turns out their power outages last days! The only light we had was that little lantern. At night, we had to huddle around it to play cribbage or chat. Complete darkness otherwise. Needless to say, candles were purchased and a bigger lantern. Lanterns! Bought a few of them….
I need to check out that water pump, the one I use has battery leads that I hook to the battery of my ATV. It's super slow. I like the idea of using my drill instead.
We have used the outside light bug zapper for years… inside! The lamp is waterproof, so you can clean the bugs out under a stream of water. Ours have lasted for a 7 year circumnavigation.
I like the pop up lantern for the purpose of using it on a table away from the door vs the awning lights, which attract bugs right around your front door.
Love the bubble light! Zapper not so much😉 The light is amazing and last a LONG time! Didn’t get at Harbor but online elsewhere. It’s true, you can rinse it! We hang it from our pop up over our table and it’s plenty of light 👍
Those tent stakes are great. I use them for many things. Those little lights not so great. To put new batteries in you have to unscrew the back with small screwdriver.
On the pricier side; I use their solar panels. While I cannot attest to the latest models; the SAE connectors were crap, but since I needed MC4 anyway, I just replaced the SAE ones with the MC4’s Also have the 20 foot flagpole I am using as an antenna mast. I see they have gone up a bit. I bought mine a few years back on sale for under $60. currently $89.99)
I picked up one of the Katchy bug batchers last year when my camper was invaded by fruit flies. It does a good job. Even managed to catch house flies and those dang biting buffalo gnats.
HF nitrile gloves are the bomb, as we discovered during covid. Wife n daughter use the 5 mil for lots of dirty tasks, I tear them up too easily so live in the 7 mil normally but love the 9mil for tougher jobs. Underrated at 4.7 stars!
I've had the pull up lanterns for about 5 years (I only use them when the power goes out) and still have the original batteries in them. I think I remember getting them with a coupon and it was 4 lamps for $5.
Ought to use the Blu Technology 3 stage water filtration system ! Only weighs 13 lbs. Yes it’s pricey not Harbor Freight prices but it last 4 months depending on your water supply.
Bug zapper failed for me.... three different purchases. Light worked for a while on two of them but ultimately, they all of them failed within 1-4 months. Your mileage may vary.
The only two items I buy frequently, are those two cheap lights and are only used for power outages, or other emergencies. The blue one with the hook and magnet, can go just about everywhere.
Those oval led lights are awesome. I wait till they go on sale for a buck or when they are the free gift for stopping in. Get a dozen of them. One in each car, few in the camper, each person has one in house next to bed for power outages. Uses 3 aaa batteries and they last for hours. Really good light output.
You and a lot of other people put the water filter in the wrong spot. When your hose sits in the sun and the water between the filter and the rv heats up who knows what grows. You want to move the filter to the side of the rv so its the last thing water filters through before entering your RV
i have the bug light and even in my apartment I get critters ,, silent and washable . my daughter has issues with skeeters and being able to have it INSIDE has been the best thing ever
Can't live without Harbour freight, we live in Ontario, so we have to drive to MI to shop. But it's worth the trip. Decent hand tools & tool boxes as well.

The harbor freight aluminum frame camp chairs are my favorite camp chairs; even though I own much more expensive ones.
The bug zapper cool thanks for the tip... I have the same table in green been using it for 3 seasons now and it fantastic
Bug zapper inside for the win!!! GENIUS!
I've had the bug zapper for over a year and used it regularly to kill off the bugs that manage to get inside the camper. Walmart sells the same device. It works very well for what I use it for
I always love it when you post anything it is always so dang helpful

Definitely going to get the bug zapper. I use their nitrite gloves all the time, so I know they are good. Thanks for the video.
I bought that table a little over a year ago. The table outlasted the cover, but all and all the table has worked out great.
I had picked up a couple of the lanterns that pull up. I'm in Texas. We had an ice storm, freeze that took out the power for 6 days. These lanterns lasted the duration. I also keep one in my pick up and my bug out backpack. I would give them 10 stars. They are worth the money.

The $5 lantern. I take some aluminum foil and cover up half of it and redirect more light to the area that I want. Fyi
Great idea!
I have THREE of those storage bin/trays. They're great!
Nice!

We have most of those, except the filter, and zapper. Think we'll look into those, thanks👍👍👍
The bug zapper is a good idea for inside the RV. I wonder if it works for the no seeums in the Keys.

The camp table is the best. I've had mine for 2 years and no problems!
We always use the rubber wheel chocks, the gloves and tent stakes from Harbor Freight. I frequently go there to see what else may work for us.
👍🏼
I don’t have one but have heard great things about their generators. Had one next to mine and we tested them. Both the 3500/4k. Theirs was quieter and ran longer on a tank of gas.
Yes their generators are popular.

Really just watched this episode for fun, but impulse bought 3 of those bug zapper lights (using you AL of course). Thanks....
Thanks Jared! Would you happen to be able to reference your video on towing calculations with the worksheet you made?
Very good reviews. Some of the items I've used and have the same opinions you expressed.
Harbor freight has come a long way over the years. I still approach some of the items with a little caution, but overall most times good items.

I would add the Hardy pigskin gloves -- buy when on sale. I keep a couple pairs in the camper and one in the truck to pump diesel.
Fun video! I'll be fun to see an update on these products in the future.
I’ve bought the tent stakes twice because they were great and on a coupon a very good deal!
On the pricier side; I use their solar panels. While I cannot attest to the latest models; the SAE connectors were crap, but since I needed MC4 anyway, I just replaced the SAE ones with the MC4’s
Also have the 20 foot flagpole I am using as an antenna mast. I see they have gone up a bit. I bought mine a few years back on sale for under $60. currently $89.99)
I have two and yes they do work. The light draws the bugs to the zapper.
👍🏼
I picked up one of the Katchy bug batchers last year when my camper was invaded by fruit flies. It does a good job. Even managed to catch house flies and those dang biting buffalo gnats.
The bug zapper and pump are the biggest interest items for me, please update as time goes by :) Thanks!
Love your videos, I will have to try a couple of these items out!
😂😂😂 the transfer pump review had me cracking up 🤣🤣🤣
HF nitrile gloves are the bomb, as we discovered during covid. Wife n daughter use the 5 mil for lots of dirty tasks, I tear them up too easily so live in the 7 mil normally but love the 9mil for tougher jobs.
Underrated at 4.7 stars!
Check out the stainless steel screws. It’s a nice small box and you can’t go wrong with stainless!
The lantern is great. We have been using them for 3 years full time in our RV.
Very cool . thanks for keeping it real...
I've had the pull up lanterns for about 5 years (I only use them when the power goes out) and still have the original batteries in them. I think I remember getting them with a coupon and it was 4 lamps for $5.
Wow. Impressive.
I bought the tiny table in the beginning of the video on Amazon for 23$ and it came even more compact than the ones from the physical store

I was wondering about that! I always put mine on the RV. Thanks for posting!
Great review. We like Harbor Freight
I had no idea Harbor Frieght carried camping gear. Thanks for the reviews.
I have the wheel chocks. They are great
We have the pop-up light and it's lasted a long time. Great light.
Good to hear they are lasting. They put out a healthy amount of light!
Great video, I have most of the items, but the few I don't I will be buying!
👍🏼
i have the bug light and even in my apartment I get critters ,, silent and washable .
my daughter has issues with skeeters and being able to have it INSIDE has been the best thing ever
My brother just introduced me to Harbor Freight! Got a Bauer brand impact driver for just $200 (Milwaukee and Craftsman were almost double the price)
Love these videos Jared, love em.
Napalm is the best bug killer there is. I highly recommend it. 5 out of 5 stars!
Agent orange is great for poison Ivy and other invasive vegetation.
Where are you? Vietnam Nam jungle?
This is awesome glad I found you
This was GREAT!! But now I need to go to HARBOR FREIGHT😅 That table is pretty impressive and the bug zapper...what?!!
I love it!
Enjoyable, and informative video, thanks
We keep the bug zapper by the door. Makes a great area light too.
Can't live without Harbour freight, we live in Ontario, so we have to drive to MI to shop.
But it's worth the trip. Decent hand tools & tool boxes as well.
Don’t use the drill pump for potable water. Ours eventually leaked a thick grease into hose, which made its way into our fresh water tank.
Interesting to know, thank you.
Already have and use, several of these products. That table may be my next buy! Thank you for another great video.
I use quite an aray of Milwaukee tools but use the Gloves, & chocks from HF.
👍🏼
Thank you for the information.
Table rocks love mine
I do not go camping , but I have one of the lantern lights by my bed, should the power go out!
