I had a different bank at first when I got the car but then my credit union said why not switch to us and I did. It automatically comes out of my social security check every month. Never have to worry about my car payment being paid. 2 years and I can't wait. I have my credit union account for about 28 years. I like credit Unions when big banks are bought out they change everything. Credit Union I have it is just located in the state that I live in.

I did repo for 6yrs and only had 1 person that wouldnt give the keys up and that was because of his mouthy GF, always walked up with a copy of the paperwork and give it to them. Best part is when they tear it up and say i dont have any paper work i cant take it and i pull another copy out my pocket, i tell them i have the original at the office with 6 copies with me so you can have this one too if it makes you feel better but im here for the car…..not you, your property or anything else so all i need is the keys and you can get everything you own out of it. Usually just hand me the keys

Once it is hooked up, it is repossessed. Too late to jump in. That is now attempted auto theft. The tow truck driver is not allowed to drive, after he jumped in. He is required to call police, and have the former owner removed.

By law the repo guy has to drop that vehicle based on Texas regulations. Had he taken the vehicle and the owner not gotten inside then the repo guy would be in control. And based on Texas state law the police can not help the repo guy. I've seen this happen a bunch of times. In Texas if you manage to get inside your vehicle before the repo guy drives off, the vehicle has to be released.
If repo is after your car, avoid it. Talk to bank, get caught up and pay about $400 to have the repo removed and the car gets to stay with you legally. 😉
This is actually not a problem, now they also get the keys from the buyer. If he does not give the keys now since the car is repossessed he is going to be fined for that as well. At this moment in time he has 0 claim to that car anymore.
