You are so funny. I love your channel. MS eat your heart out. Lindsay shows us how to do stuff without robbing our wallets lol. Love the toppers, I'm going to bling mine up and put them everywhere. Thanks for this project.
Hay girl... in my opinion you are an expert. You keep it fresh and affordable. I love your videos and I now have my 10 yo granddaughter watching and trying your techniques. Thanks for making our crafting time, quality time as well.
I wouldn't bother about Martha. I thourghly enjoyed listening to your bubbly, happy voice. It reminds me of my daughters 😊. Because I like to quilt and work with fabric I will attempt to figure out a way of making these delightful ornaments and hear your bubbling personalty while I am doing them. Keep on keeping on.
Thank you Lindsay! I just bought one of these stars from Valley Artisans in New Hampshire and tried to make one from studying it. You are a huge help to me! Who needs stuck-up Martha Stewart! I will happily go to other videos you have made.
Just found this tutorial and looks like you're just as good as Martha is....remember she has a whole staff of people that make all her stuff and then show her how to demonstrate it....she doesn't come up with all that jazz on her own....TFS
What an easy and pretty ornament!! I LOVED watching your video. You make it fun and easy. Definitely not boring! Every other year we travel to my brother and sis-in-laws home to share a big family Thanksgiving. Some years back I began taking ornaments that I made for everyone to take home after the day was over. This may be a fun one to do or to take and have the grandkids help me with.
You ARE an expert, you're able to teach everyone with a simple approach and frugality :) I had a difficult time trying to follow MS back in the day. She would buy the best of the best and I just couldn't do it :( but I did love everything she did :/. You, are the answer to all of us monetarily challenged crafters :) and I thank you, from the bottom of my inky heart, thank you
You sure crack me up! I am going to have to make some of these for my tree. I'm going to use blue & silver. They really remind me of the bows I used to make with my mother. We'd take the thin waste strips of wrapping paper & have matching bows. JIL
Just happened upon you and this video after several hours of clicking and watching looking for ideas for simple but inexpensive Christmas gifts. Anyway I just have to say I loved the tutorial and the craft idea and most importantly YOU! You cracked me up and made me feel like we were just hanging out in your craft room chatting and making stuff. Thanks for the smile today and please keep posting great videos!
thanks! I'm glad you liked it! I have a blog with lots of Christmas ideas too if you are still looking for something: thefrugalcrafter.wordpress.com/tag/christmas/ happy crafting!
LOVE the snowflake! I lost my BHG Dec. magazine with instructions. Found this video and LOVE IT! Thank you. Plus thank you for actually talking through the steps like I was sitting there, I hate the videos where people are all quiet after explaining a step or play fast annoying music , lol
This is wonderful! So easy with your clear and happy instruction! Thank you! Kudos to ole greybeard for supporting his team. And I appreciate Martha Stewart and especially love the videos with her and her Mom “ Big” Martha. She is a perfectionist indeed but I also think they probably took whatever she said out of context. Looking forward to seeing more of your project ideas!💕
Martha, Martha, Martha, It's not good to put others down when we all learn from each other. I love every ones ideas, I take them and add my thoughts and hopefully improve on them. I really love your ideas, I may not do what you do what I add to what I do take. I just want to say thanks for your ideas and your fun personality.
Been subscribed to your channel for a while now and you are a real source of inspiration. These ornaments are darling. I see a lot of strip cutting in the future for the neighborhood ladies who come over to craft ;-). They will love this. Thanks.
Loved your comment about Martha Stewart; I've watched her on HSN and she makes more mistakes that her staffers cover up... it's funny to watch her. Loved the ornaments! I love your videos.....
Hi there,my name is Jenavie and I would just like to say that I absolutely love you channel! Just in the past 2 hours I have probably watched about 15 videos! Such an inspiration, thank you. Happy crafting to you too.
you did a really good job of making those look easy to make. I learned to make those 30 years ago on the Carol Duvall show. I think I've made thousands of them. I really liked your video and your sense of humor.
Imho you are priceless to those many of us in need of a patient, caring and gifted crafter such as yourself. When I have questions or concerns about craft, I know you will give the best advice. That's invaluable, and worthy of our respect and appreciation. Thank you for sharing. ❤👏❤👏
These look fun! Much like the woven hearts for Valentines! I LOVE your series on ornaments! I might be very busy the next few weeks! Thanks for the great ideas & reminders of some of the old favorites too! These are GREAT! (News casters seem to like to trash everyone, take things out of context, twist things people say & do, and so on. I love Martha Stewart's crafts & can't change that! She does some awesome things! (So do you, Lindsay!) At what point does anyone become an "expert" anyhow? (With some of the "experts" newscasters use, one has to wonder if it's pretty arbitrary... some seem to be anyone with an opinion! They like to drum up a lotta drama for ratings, even if it means hacking sound bites to make people look awful... just to get ratings... news is pretty sad any more! ) Seems they tend to use the adjective in place of the noun, I suppose!?! I'd say you're an expert in several craft areas, Lindsay (as is Martha Stewart, clearly!)
I’ve been making these for over 30 years! I learned to make them from the Carol Duvall show! This year, I’m going to try making them out of stiffened fabric!
Really nice, friendly chatty video and great make! Im going to show the clients at the mental health day centre where I work how to make these in our Christmas crafts session tomorrow. Thanks!
I use a paper trimmer, an xacto guillotine style trimmer I bought at Staples for $25 probably 15 years ago, still as sharp as ever! Or you can use a rotary cutter and quilters ruler if you have it (I keep one blade for paper and one for fabric because I think the paper will dull the blade) You should be able to cut it fairly strait with either tool or an craft knife and a steel ruler. I don't think they sell the paper is 1/2" strips.
Love your videos! I think your pretty expert, but appreciate your occasional mistakes, they make you human! LOVE that you do so many different things. THANK YOU GOD BLESS
Beautiful job... keep it up. and to the one out there that says they know everything. Well tah hoowey with them. I swear. that tells me your so arrogant....TheFrugalCrafter, I think a huge thumbs up. you make everything so easy to craft....Thank you
Love your video. The directions are paced just right. I am anxious to try making some of these. I've been making tea fold snowflakes, and yourwill be a nice variation. They remind me of the Swedish woven ornaments.
HOT DIGGITY....This is such a Great project...and your presentation demo...is the BEST......I have both THUMBS up and both BIG TOES up too...LOL...How's that for a HOORAH aye? LOL...You make it fun and just go with it...love your SPIRIT....One of the best on here....Thanks so much....Will def make these....not only just paper but other mediums too.....leather...cloth....etc.... Thanks for sharing.. Ken
Thanks for the tut. I made one using a 6" square of patterned origami paper. Because the paper is lighter (than card stock) and had a crazy op art design to start with, it looks great with strong backlight--you get overlapping layers of pattern.
What makes an expert? a college degree? years of experience working and creating? Hummmmm........I don't know, but I enjoyed watching the video and learning a craft I can pass on to my children for fun at Christmas and to add to our homemade decorations. Thanks Lindsay
hi....like your video.....simple and easy to make...dont know marta stuart, dont care.....ive seen meny videos and .....PEOPLE DONT SAY THEY ARE EXPERT.....good work
I’m laughing at your take on the Martha Stewart comments. Your perspective is always so refreshing. My favorite video of yours of all time is the one where you use a soldering iron. It’s probably 12 years old by now, and it was hilarious, and scary and informative all at the same time. It convinced me to NOT try that at home! Love you to bits!
I think this would be cute to make an even smaller one 1/4 in and glue to one side for a package bow, or one on each side for an ornament. About Martha, she made herself who she is today, but if you ever watch her try to craft she isn't a crafter. But she is a smart business woman getting into the craft line. Look how much stuff we buy with her name on it! :) dee
I was shocked (but I believe it) that Martha Stewart would say that. It is a riot because all her "crafty ideas" I am sure OTHER people taught her and I am sure she used youtube to double check on how to make something prior to showing the audience. BTW, I come on here to learn, I don't go to Martha Stewart when I want to learn something!
Love it. Thank you so much. I don't know how much more can you explain it. great job. Practice practice makes perfect and then you come an expert. jjajjajjjjajaaa. Sorry Martha I wonder how you learned everything you know!!!!!! ;)
I love wat hing your videos they are so much fun. What if I'm horrible at cutting paper can I buy them already in strips. I'm pretty sure I can't cut in a straight line, even if my life depended on it. Thank you. B.C.
I did a lot of this even my husband help and donated to center for a bused children. they where so happy. Thanks Lindsay.!!!!
I have been making these for decades. It first came on tv on the Carol Duvall show on HGTV! I loved her.
I love that you always have the links to buy supplies. That saves sooo much time searching. Love the variety of your crafts and appreciate your time!
You are so funny. I love your channel. MS eat your heart out. Lindsay shows us how to do stuff without robbing our wallets lol. Love the toppers, I'm going to bling mine up and put them everywhere. Thanks for this project.
You are right Lindsey. Free publicity for Martha!! Love the snow flakes. I don't think Martha could have done better lol Edith
Hay girl... in my opinion you are an expert. You keep it fresh and affordable. I love your videos and I now have my 10 yo granddaughter watching and trying your techniques. Thanks for making our crafting time, quality time as well.

You are so welcome!
Love these cute bows. I'd rather watch crafters like you than MS. She has professional designers do her stuff.
Just found this tutorial and looks like you're just as good as Martha is....remember she has a whole staff of people that make all her stuff and then show her how to demonstrate it....she doesn't come up with all that jazz on her own....TFS
Thank you, thank you, thank you!! Can wait to do this with my granddaughters!!!
Thumbs up! Great job, easy to follow. Take THAT, Martha.

you ARE right! you actually use so little paper!!! is great and looks real fine :)
Oh...and Martha should be grateful for all the blogger vloggers who use, demo, and promote her products!
I loved the video and love the little chatting as you go it makes it more fun to watch :)
I think you an expert Lindsay and very entertaining and you take the time to share best wishes Ilona
You're the "expert" I've been and will continue to watch. Love these ornaments!
Love them! Making some this weekend, I'm always looking for paper ornament ideas that don't take forever!
Been subscribed to your channel for a while now and you are a real source of inspiration. These ornaments are darling. I see a lot of strip cutting in the future for the neighborhood ladies who come over to craft ;-). They will love this. Thanks.
