    Great overview! I'm surprised how much adding in the grey helped. Also, there's an option to mix in studs from presets, which has the other Lego art sets and some other palettes. (this way you can add in studs from multiple sets)

      Good to know about the presets, adding each color was not a big hassle for this example but could potentially be a bigger issue

    What resource would you go to see the actual colors that Lego makes for all their different tiles, dots, plates, bricks, etc? Rather than using this program, you can use a superior piece of software known as PCStitch. It allows you to import almost any image with stitch resolutions of 999x999. You can get it to be much higher with a little tweaking of how the values are entered. PCStitch maps to 505 DMC thread colors. You can also create your own custom thread color maps. So the challenge here is to color match all the components that Lego makes with all the thread colors used by PCStitch. Then you can do the same thing this online software does without having to be online to do it. You simply replace each stitch with a Lego component of the desired shape and/or color. You're not limited to relatively simplistic designs with PCStitch either. I use their software to make my fractal cross stitch patterns. I have over 10,000 fractal cross stitch patterns to date that I made using PCSitch.

      This is not an official source, but Rebrickable has a table that includes the RGB values here: rebrickable.com/colors/
      There are other resources that offer the same or very similar info, even HEX values somewhere, but I don't think LEGO has published the official colors they use internally.

    Maybe also usefull for Ministeck. Interesting.

    • @BrickSystemBros
      @BrickSystemBros  4 роки тому

      yes, I had not heard of Ministeck before but I looked it up and there is a lot of overlap in the design. I do see a few big differences:
      Ministeck has no round edges, so there will be a different overall feel to the model. Also, Ministeck comes in different sizes and not just 1x1 sections. Finally there are some minor color differences as well.
      I think LEGO Art Remix can still be used to generate good designs for Minitex but just as a basic outline to fine-tune with these differences in mind.

    • @Svepo38
      @Svepo38 4 роки тому

      @@BrickSystemBros Yes. I had a look at it and at first glance it, at least in my mind, it works.
      Ministeck offers a set with your own picture for some years now, but only in black and white. I am not an exclusiv Lego builder so i guess i am going with that. I prefer the more mosaic siyle then the dots.
      Thank you for pointing it out.

    Hey man! Great Video! Btw, when I upload and adjust my image, the step 3 image looks way better than the step 4 image. Is there any way where i can download instructions for step 3? Cheers:D

    • @BrickSystemBros
      @BrickSystemBros  Рік тому +2

      Hello, step 4 is just taking out pieces based on any inventory restrictions you may have, there should be a way to open the "pieces used" menu and change the quantities to match step 3. I just checked with a test image and step 3 & 4 look the same when there are no inventory adjustments. As far as I can tell, there isn't an export feature for step 3.

    How do I resize a regular iPhone photo to fit this? Mine are all stretched

    • @BrickSystemBros
      @BrickSystemBros  2 роки тому

      Hi there Brickheads, there are two ways around this problem. Option one is to crop your photos into squares before adding to the website. If you don't want to crop, there is a way to change the aspect ratio in step 1 on the site. Keep in mind that the blocks under the tiles are 16x16, so the overall size of the mosaic can be changed by increments of 16 studs.
      The default square starts at 48x48 I think, but if you click on the "Resolution" button under the picture in step 1 you can adjust the slider to make the width or height a different size. For an iPhone image, try setting the width to 32 and the height to 64 for a vertical photo, or 64 x 32 for horizontal.

    I wonder how you can make a smaller one like a 30X30 plate?

    • @BrickSystemBros
      @BrickSystemBros  Рік тому

      If you make it too small it is hard to see the correct shape of the letters, maybe possible to do if you build the letters out of other types of pieces and have a plain background, but that's not really a mosaic anymore.

      These custom versions aren't available, just a digital design. Your best option is to buy the parts individually on Bricklink.

    Hi thanks for this video mate! but i have some concern, i notice that my potrait requires a lot of colors, (default) by not adjusting any avaiable color, are all the color listed is made by lego?

    • @BrickSystemBros
      @BrickSystemBros  3 роки тому +1

      Hello Ezzat, thanks for the question. The current version of the LEGO Art remix site has an input option that will help you I think. Next to the "Select Input Image" button on the right you should see an "Input Set" button. If you click on that it will let you pick from a variety of starter color palates.
      The first 7 or so are based on sets that have been released and will limit the range to only the colors in that set. For example, Iron Man (31199) will have lots of blue, dark blue, and dark red studs but very little green or tan.
      I would suggest using the "All Stud Colors" option, which uses colors that have been released as a 1x1 round plate (AKA the stud). As far as I can tell all of these colors have been made and can be found in official sets. Now, some of them might be pretty rare and will be expensive, but if you only need a few it shouldn't be too bad. Hope this is helpful
