  • Having seen the release news of the new Aprilia RS660 I decided to take it for a test ride to see how it stacked up against my Ducati Supersport S.

I was doubting between these two and, after testing both, I went for the Aprilia. Never looked back.
Very well finished, lovely engine, light and precise chassis, trustable electronics, amazing looks, sporty but comfortable suspension and really comfortable ergonomics.

I saw the tuono 660 in local dealer and thought same, so small so you have confirmed for me thanks. Mind you, guy on calimoto is 6ft 2 and he never complained!! More aggressive ride position than i thought. Ill stick with the supersport!

I rode one last week. I'm 6'1" and didn't find it cramped. But, it's the first sports bike I have ridden, my only other reference really is my Multistrada 950S which is of course totally different. I rode the 660 for an hour without getting off and no discomfort. I found the suspension sporty but comfortable. I hope to try a Supersport maybe when my bike goes in for service.

thanks for the review, lots of detail about the experience.
kind of surprised seeing videos from other riders, that have said its comfortable.
e.g. in one case, the rider is 6'2 ua-cam.com/video/t6EcbYPZ-2I/v-deo.html
food for thought, although after seeing your vid i will definitely wait to sit on one before building hopes of bringing it home.
stay safe, many happy rides to you. (and congrats on the lovely MV, great bike!)

Its not apples to apples.... supersport should be compared to tuono 660 or tuono...
Supersport s to me is really comfy when it comes to sports style bike... im 6 and 200lbs...

For me aprilia felt so much more premium than yamaha or kawasaki, so hearing that for u it's cheap damn :) would love to check out that ducati

The Ducattis on the showroom floor scream "no expense spared," put Harleys to shame.

I don't get it why people compare the rs660 to the supersport 950... it is comparing a sport bike with a sport touring bike. Both are ergonomically totally different. I like the tuono very much, still a chose the Ducati as over the aprilia. The aprilia looks like a toy made with cheap plastic, the Ducati looks a real bike.

Because a lot of us are in the market and deciding between the 2

@jorgevillalobos4050 It still doesn't make any sense. Again, they're different bikes. The only reason people like you are choosing between the 2 is because you see sporty looking fairings on both bikes and think they are in the same category.
The tuono is closer related to the supersport in all areas, ergonomics, character ... .The rs 660 is a sport bike like the r6, the daytona, etc... you can't get panniers for a rs660 because it isn't meant for touring, but on the supersport you can because it's a touring bike, it only looks more sporty than most touring bikes, like the kawasaki 1000 sx for example.

@robrechtvanbethune7663 good points but the fact that customers look at both of these bikes when considering. I think I'm gonna go with the rs660 but even just now I was still researching between the two. I do think I've made up my mind though.

The ducati is super good fit. Im 6'1 250lbs and the ducati fit like a glove. However it looks boring AF to me. I tried the aprilia and its great too with more character. I dont want to show my age 😅

I own both, Ducati, is a higher premium bike, comfort, looks and sound. You cant compare those two. The 660 is not on the same level as the Ducati SS

My bodyfat is 9.5% and I can manage 20 bodyweight pull-ups on a bad day. Its more a matter of comfort and body position than fitness - thats why there are Touring bikes as well as sports bikes. Thanks for watching.
