    Glad someone has done the comparison. I'm having this exact dilemma. I want the more sporty version being the RS, however the silver/red/blk paint scheme on the tuono is much more appealing to me. Here in the US the RS is a little more difficult to find at dealerships because they sell out almost immediately, so pre-order is a must. The proper wind screen on the RS on the open roads in the US may be more helpful with a mid-weight bike. Flickability is really nice to have and could be life saving in certain situations I've noticed, my prior bike being a scrambler. The quick shifter and auto blipper would also be nice to have standard. The price difference, always nice to have lower price but now I suppose I know why. Still can't decide arghh...

      I want either of them but I'm very concerned about the reliability. Now if Japan would copy it, say Yamaha. Then with the wheelie control & build quality I would sell a body part to get it. The RS660 is gorgeous.

It's a real looker with the fairings, great sound, presence, plenty of electronics, great with the options included. Great riding position that is biased to sportsbike which is awesome. Thanks for the comparison review; two great bikes. I commented after your last Tuono review that it would be a difficult decision splitting the two - so it proved. I said on balance I’d take the RS for its enhanced electronics and the fact the riding position isn’t that radical for a sports bike. Your point about middleweight bikes with a good power spread in today’s camera-infested UK is very valid. However, I overlooked your point about the RS having more ‘space presence’ is equally valid; thanks. Lots of riders might feel short changed trading down to a ‘smaller’ bike, even though the engine and bike dynamics are bang on. Onwards and upwards for Aprilia, methinks.

    Chops, awesome video, one question.How does the riding position of the Tuono 660 compare to that of the Tuono 1100? Thanks.

    After a naked "middle" weight like the monster 821, either of the z900&900rs, xsr900/mt09 ktm 790 duke, Is the Aprilla 660 in the same category?

    Great comparison pal.. loved the idea of these bikes since they were launched. For me, someone unlikely to go on track I think it would be the Tuono 660.. so far I'm a naked bike fan tbh.. But I'm 28, been biking on middle weight bikes 7 years now and not owned a faired sports bike yet..
    So the RS660 could be a great first faired bike for me.. but on the flipside I want a Speed Triple RS 1050 which one of your other videos made me fall in love with! 😍

    again don't stop the bike, how much room under seat. Are their any luggage mount holes under the seat like the Kawasaki z600. other than that i bought the 300 Honda which is good fun to the shops. get ya chops out next time. (I'm thinking which one to add to my collection

    Want an rs660 so bad, not just because it's brand new either..from what reviews are saying you can't buy anything similar really. You've either got the bikes like the r7 sv650s which are too similar ergo wise to the supersports and you won't ride them for more than an hour (coming from experienced advice) or they are faired commuter bikes like the cbr650r. Is buying a bike on finance really that terrible an idea ? Maybe I could spin it to myself as a credit builder haha?

    I think your onto a winner with either bike and imho Aprilia are going to sell loads. Not sure if they would tempt me to ditch my KTM 1290 GT but they look and sound superb with all the right toys so never say never! - thank you Mr. Chops👍

    Been sleeping in my car on the week days saving every penny for the rs 660. First bike but I'm not a 19 year old jumping on a bike. Almost 30.

    Great vid... I'm foxed... How can electronics detect that the bike is wheelieing and let it, and not loosing grip on the rear? Can't be pitch, as if yr going up hill HT wouldn't work... Sensors in the front forks to show that the wheel has dropped and is weightless? U seem an intelligent guy.... ☺

    • @WL2K
      @WL2K 2 роки тому

      The Inertial Measurement Unit does all that, with gyroscopes and accelerometers. Pitch, lean, yaw, front vs rear wheelspeed

    If I didn't own my 790 Duke already, I think the Tuono....oh wait...the RS660..might be a go'er. Hard to know which one to choose! Not sure I understand Aprilia's logic in different electronics between the bikes. As for the electronics on a middleweight...real question is, do they inhibit anything on the bike? The 790 Duke has all the same, minus cruise, and doesn't take anything away from the bike in my opinion.

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  3 роки тому +1

      Yeah good point regarding electronics, no doesn't limit anything only thing I noticed a couple of times was wheelie control kicking in on Tuono! So why not have it there to save you if the worst happens 🤷‍♂️

    I noticed your knee was at a very acute angle on the RS (12:01), so comfort must have been compromised. Any comparison to the Tuono?

    • @LambChopRides
      @LambChopRides  3 роки тому +1

      It's probably the 360 camera.. its not too bad at all on your knees. Yes it's sporty but much better than a supersport

    G'Day Mr Chops. Well done. This was a very good video and the comparison between the two bikes excellent.
    What are these two bikes? The RS660 IS the boy racer used for track days. The Tuono660 is the commuter, back
    road scratcher around the twisty hills. Unbeatable. I'll take the Tuono 660 thanks.
