I love Knuckles Chaotix. It´s a masterpiece that shows what a powerhouse the 32X was. Because I live in Europe, the Pal reagion, was the poorest of 32X stuff and also the most expensive. But at least we could also get Chaotix. It´s the same reason, why I own the Sega Mega CD, only for Sonic CD.
You don’t have to redo a level if the other player clips through a wall. There’s a button you can press that summons them to your location at the cost of rings.
The game was originally a mega drive game about sonic, called Sonic Clackers sonic was replaced by mighty in the final game (sonic had his same moveset) Also the Chaotix here aren't a team or group, it's the just name of the game. All 5 characters are there independently for their own reason but they rescue each other. I guess that Heroes' influence on Team Chaotix makes everyone look back at this and think Chaotix was the group, but it's just the name of the game. The fact mighty was a reskin is probably why he was never brought back as part of the chaotix team. I also don't like the emphasis on "knuckles" in the title because if you boot the game its just called Chaotix. Heck at some point in development the title screen for the US consoles specifically said "featuring Espio the Chameleon" as he is the new main character made for this game. Still I prefer to just call the game Chaotix, as knuckles is on the same level as everyone else, not the leader. As for the game itself, it's honestly great for me, it's my comfort game, I like playing it and pulling off complex tricks to go super fast. I don't mind the 5 acts because as you said it's just more game, and while their level design repeats, I do like each set piece. For example, I really love speed slider, marina madness and botanic base, so I always look forward when i get to it regardless of the amount of times ive played the stage because I'm just getting more game that I like (plus more time to enjoy the beautiful OST!). Though i don't really like Amazing Arena, the clock gimmick isn't that fun. Also I'm surprised you didn't mention the special stages, as they are the most 32x thing this game has. I really like them and the challenge they give, they're pretty fun , and also give a reason to extend the level amount, because i keep failing on them hahahaha, and give you an incentive to actually do something in the levels by holding onto rings. I hope this game is rereleased and acknowledged more, it's just really cool and fun once you understand how it works, most people who criticise it for the controls just seem to not understand how it works and try to play it as a regular Sonic game (which does not work here).
Huh, I didn't even think about Sonic Crackers, thanks for pointing that out (I played it a little bit a while ago). I didn't mention the special stages because I thought they would take up time on the video in a way I didn't like. Though I probably should've at least mentioned the special stage music reference in Sonic Generations. But, yeah. Thanks for pointing stuff out.
Sonic CD wouldn't be called Sonic CD. Knuckles Chaotix would be even more poorly recieved for performance, but probably praised more for the complex gameplay mechanics. While I think this would benefit Sega's profits a little, It would be terrible to lose the Sega CD. It was such a neat little device.
a beautiful disaster! a half-finished game for a half-finished system. so disappointing considering how incredible it looks (genesis couldn't do those colors)

Yeah, the PAL was kinda rough with Sonic releases. Sometimes it got mainline Sonic games REALLY late.
@@brentendo6424 Or you couldn´t find it at all.
it doesn't really show what a powerhouse the system is. it's doing the bare minimum.
@@Saetta06 But it still give a special feeling. At least for me.
nice work playa
Bro this content is so good you just earned a sub
I appreciate it!
Good stuff, keep it up.

Yeah, but I never needed to use it so I forgot about it honestly.
@ literally the only time I’ve used it is when a character glitched through a wall. I think that may have even been the reason they included it.
Yeah, it's pretty useless most of the other times. Of course, the one time I needed it, I forgot it existed.
I like it though!
Thanks!
Me too😊.

What if Sega never made the add-ons? And if both Sonic CD and Knuckles' Chaotix were on standalone Genesis?

Sega CD = 👍🏽
SEGA 32X=👎🏽
whats with the hum in the background the entire time.
Idk, might be my bad mic. I work with what I've got.

Honestly this game wouldve been way better if they made Espio a Chameleon.
