These are obviously from different episodes. The first game is a continuation from the previous day, which you see in the second segment. So technically you would watch the second segment first, then the first segment. I wish there were more NBC eps available, But the cost of tapes was so high back then. I’m grateful for these little snippets :)
Concentration is the best game show ever, much better than classic version. I hope they find all the nbc game shows from 70's on back & put them on tv again.
I wish at least one of the Ed McMahon episodes had survived, but no. Hugh was out for a long stretch and Ed filled in. Hugh came back & had on a neck brace for a few weeks. Never did find out what happened.
Ed McMahon hosted for 6 months (exactly) in 1969, displacing Bob Clayton, who took over for Downs near the beginning of the year. Clayton took the job back for the remaining 3 1/2 years of the series.
Gilmore Box, KING Ch 5 Seattle aired Concentration at 3pm on a tape delay from 6/3/68-7/31/70 and KOA Ch 4 (now KCNC CBS) Denver also aired on a 3pm tape delay from 10/31/66 until the end. Can you please contact both stations to buy them. It will cost you thousands but worth buying a gem in history. Think new episodes of the original Concentration is like seeing lost kinescopes of The Honeymooners. Can you please post them on UA-cam in its full episode once you have them.

Speaking, organ music 🎶, again I.Y.O., why didn't ABC-TV Network have organ music for its N.Y. City, N.Y.-based Mon.-Fri. daytime serialized drama in "..Children"-"Dark Shadows"-"l Life To Live" in late-1960s/early-1970s?
It depended on the show and the network. Gilligan's Island (CBS) did in the fall of 1965; F Troop (ABC) did in the fall of 1966, although ABC started airing The Flintstones in color in 1962.
Concentration was the last existing NBC show to transition from black and white to color. It did so that November. As for the Flintstones, that was done in a roundabout way. In 1962, ABC still didn't have color capability so those shows were transmitted to ABC from NBC, and ABC transmitted them to affiliates.
When Concentration went to color in November 1966, it made NBC the first network to have all of their programming in color. CBS and ABC didn’t do so until 1967 (in ABC’s case, in late December of 1967).
Excellent. So few of the Hugh Downs' Concentrations have survived. Thrilled to see this one.
When Buzzr does another Lost and Found special, this should be included.
I forgot about the door music at 13:14. As a kid, I was always amazed at how quickly the prizes showed up on the doors.

Well, it's fun to see the original series no matter how badly edited. Thanks for posting this.
You're welcome!
I'm glad that the prize board (behind the contestants)was saved and used in the Narz era .
Now i want a surprise burger!

You could always tell when an NBC show was going to break back then when a white square appeared in the upper right hand side of the screen
Love the game show
Great memories, thank you!

Thanks for bringing back the game show. When Bob Clayton took over, it continues where they left off on yesterday show.

32:39 - is the NBC Kinoscope logo from 1952 which was used right up until the 1960’s.
It sounds like they had industrial-sized motors and relays for those board pieces.
Thank you.

@@TheWOCArchive "Concentration" is my all time favorite TV program.
Great to see a Downs-era Concentration show with Clayton announcing. Downs and Clayton, IMO, made a great emcee-announcer team.
I'd like to have some more airings, lst incarnation, "Concentration" on NBC from early-1970s w/late Bobby Cl'ytn h'stng p'std
Walt certainly looked disappointed.
There will be a reboot of Concentration will be broadcast on NBC
As seen weekdays- in black and white- at 10:30am(et).
Not until November 1966- the last black and white daytime program on NBC's schedule.

One of the classiest game shows ever! Great to see a lost episode! A gem! Wonder which station is was taped from?
NBC STUDIOS IN N.Y.
Rockefeller plaza in NYC
Like that music used when the doors closed when a new player appeared on the set.
Should add that the music goes up there with Fleming Jeopardy's "curtain-opener" tune as a great short piece of game show music.
At 17:10, you can see how small the board really was.
It was approximately five feet across, and four feet high. Small for a studio set piece, but big if it were in my living room. 😉
They played hava nagila on the show!
Great to see more surviving episodes of '60s Concentration, cheesy organ and all!

Where did you find the Concentration kinescope?
It was on a tape that I purchased from a collector. There's lots of other old game shows in the collection, so maybe I'll find more episodes!
