    Saw arrived yesterday ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfQm1wmg0ItKDLavxj1nXtQY9HP7EF504 and today I cut about 3/4 cord of wood with it. Make sure you get an extension chord that is at least 12 gauge wire, minimum. This is my first electric in about 10 years, and things sure have improved. The self-sharpener works great, and it just kept cutting through some pretty decent logs. Wear your eye protection, and ear protection. Excellent saw.

    I own a variety of Stihl gas saws (5 I think) and have used a borrowed Stihl e-saw for brush work. I loved the light weight of low noise of the e-saw but they will have to come way down in price before I buy one, especially when you consider the likely depreciation in value and functionality.

      I not know what you try to say but I have the Stihl MSA300, 220C, 161T, GTA26 and the Trimmer135, I do everything I use to do with gas power and in my case I find it more convinient.
      Yes they sure have a down side witch is the batteries, I have all batteries from AP200 to AP500 just wishe they with hold on longer.

      Is a fast powerful saw to bad even the AP500 battery is not up to the saw. Using about 80% of the blade you may got 15 minutes cutting time if you go in full power mode, then the battery always got hot and it takes about 15 minutes just for the charger 500 to cool of the battery so it can charge back again.

    • @TheFullyChargedGardener
      @TheFullyChargedGardener  2 роки тому

      The MSA 220 T and MSA 220 TC-O are STIHL’s most powerful cordless top handled chainsaws, designed for tree care professionals to remove larger branches or perform crown maintenance with ease.
      Recommended with a light-weight 14” guide bar, both MSA 220 T models use a high performing PS3 full-chisel saw chain to achieve a fast, high-quality cut. The recommended AP 300 S battery delivers 2.1 kW of electrical power, providing up to 29 minutes of working time and plenty of power for cutting larger sized branches.
      Both models have an adjustable oil pump, an ergonomic trigger system and a 180° LED display, ensuring the operator always has a clear overview of key information such as the operating status of the saw and the chain brake position. In addition to these features, the MSA 220 TC-O also has an oil sensor that will notify the user when the chain oil tank is empty, helping to reduce potential downtime, premature wear to the cutting attachment and the risk of overheating.
      The MSA 220 T and TC-O top handle chainsaws are built with durability in mind and are suitable for use in the toughest conditions thanks to the hard-wearing components. Maintenance of the machine is kept simple via the MSA 220 T’s modular design, allowing housing parts to be removed and replaced quickly and simply.
      Other features include side-mounted chain tensioning, captive nut on the sprocket cover and tool-free oil tank cap as standard. In addition, the MSA 220 T boasts an easy-to-clean air filter for long service life and optimum motor cooling.

      In certain applications Battery machines most definitely are the best option, for many reasons.
      The is most certainly pressure on the supply chain due to increased demand, but we also have to remember that there have been many events over the last couple of years that have also had an impact on the supply chain. As consumers, I think we are going to have to learn to be more patient and factor in longer lead times when considering our purchases.

      hahah 2 stroke is defiantly not dead. when deciding between battery and 2 stroke ask yourself if in use the throttle is held flat out for long periods of time. If so then you need a 2 stroke. Battery is only suitable for intermittent operation. Like a Battery top handle climbing saw. Cut a branch then climb to next location cut a branch climb to next location.

    Only a fool would spend that mony on this. Cordless has cost so much ore money than petrol. The equipment all though well looked after just keep failing. Parts to expensive and availability sketchy. I love cordless but it's outpaced itself, it is not reliable. Avoid Stihl cordless. Not only than that this chanel tells you how fantastic it all is but dosent point out the many issues and poor designs Stihl cordless has. And of course Stihl don't want to know. £510 I paid for my petrol hedge cutter 10 years ago, worked most day, still in shed waiting to go back to work. Within 4 years I have had 4 cordless hedge cutter costing £1720. Add on ap battery failing after only dropping 10% efficiency, long reach failing, battery holster melting(Stihl sent replacement) it is far to expensive. Also add on your charging costs. Just leave cordless well alone, you've been warned, it will cost you big time!

      Cordless is great for some tasks, especially infrequent use by home owners. Like most cordless tool manufacturers it takes a while to get it right. It took makita and the others a long time to make really good cordless tools. Stihl is still learning at the moment that's why each new tool is better than the last. its no so much that the new tool is fantastic is just that the previous one was not very good.
