Amazing! I’ll have to check your recipe out and give it a go and get my bake on. Thanks again for watching, really appreciate the love ❤️🙌
Hi Jack. That is a stunning platter and the wood grain is beautiful.
Very much appreciated!
That's gorgeous! At first I was worried about the black putty, it ended up being extremely complimentary... beautiful burl. 🥰
I’m glad you liked the end finish! Thanks so much for watching Patti 🥳
Big and beautiful plate
Gorgeous colours.
Stunning and beautiful, take care, thanks..
Thanks for watching, you also take care! 🙌❤️
Good morning, the dish is beautiful.
Good morning! Thank you kindly. What would you use it for?
Jack, watching your video I cold learn many things: You are a master using your tools, ...your technique is very precise, ..and your taste shaping the wood really refined. Thank you very much. If is not to much to ask I would like to know the brand of the black putty that you are using for this project.
Salutations from Atlanta, USA.

Gorgeous, simply timeless !! Fits into any decor and the wood texture is stunning!!
Hmm previous comment not posting, maybe due to link to raffle ... look at previous video for link 👍
The figuring is just stunning, another beautiful piece 👍
It's easy (or easier) when you have many years of experience ... I have about seven bowls worth at the moment, spread over about six years ... hope to be doing more relatively soon 😁
There's that narrow ridge again! When you were turning the underside of the platter, I thought that I usually see rounded turned surfaces in one curve. What about making it like you did the base--with curves with some vertical changes--also like crown moldings are done. I have a McKee Jadeite salad bowl that has vertical changes about 1/2" on center. I've seen three of your narrow ridges near the top of the outside of a bowl.
I like your use of clay here, instead of adding color with resin.
Thats beautiful. Anyone would be proud to have it as a centerpiece.
I think it would have looked a lot better with the natural edge, without the bondo.
Beautiful wood though. And awesome job.
Trying to enter your raffle, but I don’t see the link. Also, awesome platter.
great piece of wood lovely grain and a super shaped piece. what was the compound /filler stuff?
Beautiful....... Of course,! 😁
Thank you, of course 😉👍🏻
Beautiful cake stand Jack! What grit CBN wheel are you using?
Very nice Jack, greetings from Australia 👍
Thanks for your creation, it’s absolutely stunning.
I love oak this is beautiful. I want to hand carve a bread bowl (southern biscuit making bowl) from a chainsaw cutting of birch tree that my nephew brought home to me. I have no clue where to start. 😂 my son told him I was fascinated by your channel and I got that gift.
Aww thanks buddy. That’s nice of him! Good luck, I’m sure you will do great. Just my videos a few more times and I’m sure you’ll get the hang of it 😉👍🏻
Thanks for showing how’s done. It will be super difficult for anyone else’s to come out looking as beautiful as yours.😂
That’s very kind! Thanks buddy
Outstanding work. New mechine?
Thanks buddy. Had it since January, you like it?
@@JackMackWoodturning ok thanks
Hi Jack beautifully made good job I enjoy watching your video thank friend
Hi Vince, thanks so much. Appreciated! Have you watched any of my other videos buddy? 😊
Wow great result as usual!!! What is that « play-doh » paste that you used?
I like that one. Nice work.
Cheers buddy!
l love this wood is it harh to get us
English Oak would probably be quite pricey for you. You have quite a few different varieties of oak in the US though so I shouldn’t think it is too hard to get hold of.
I wonder what kind of wood the base is? I'm guessing oak as well?
Don’t see any link for buying into the turning kit great project though!
What was the putty you used? I don't think I've ever seen it used here in the states.
Here's a platter of flattery for you good sir. I made metal parts on a rotating lump of iron for a living. Never could my machining be called artistic. Your craft is thoroughly fascinating and a joy to watch
Wow, that is very kind. I really appreciate it 😊😊
F/A brother nice real nice
Cheers buddy 🙌
What kind of sharpening jig do you use ?
Beautiful design. You have done a fantastic job. 🙂🙂
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Where are you watching from?

Thanks buddy! Very kind. Did it turn out how you imagined?
Hello Jack, brown oak burr! You know how to choose your timber. A really nice job you made of it there. Best regards. 🙃
Haha thank you kindly! Where about are you based?
@@JackMackWoodturning Rosyth, Fife, in Scotland. Just a couple of miles north of the river Forth. Not that far from you really. Was that Milliput you used to fill the voids on your platter?
amazing🔥✌️🌷
Thanks Mani!
Beautiful woodgrain, I love oak ❤ great piece!
Thanks Rene! ❤️
Very beautiful. The figure in the wood is fabulous.
Thank you very much! Can’t beat a nice piece of oak right?

What a beautiful piece of wood. Lovely platter
Thanks G. How’s it going?
The black putty was/is the perfect choice here. Blended in with what the wood presented perfectly. Very nice design. Well done.
Awesome
Nice one W. Thanks for watching 😊👍🏻
very nice
Thanks Barb!
Another stunning piece Jack Mack. My knowledge of wood only extends to the U.S. Pacific northwest. What wood was your platter piece ? Showing my ignorance again , what does your filler putty consist of ? Again, stunning !
Did you say what species the wood is? Sorry if I missed it.
Great project, thanks for sharing!
It’s an Oak Burr
Kool trick with the epoxy. Great turning skills , beautiful piece. Thanks for sharing.
Lovely piece as usual, mate. Really love the grain.

Big like!👍👍👍👍👍✅💪Felicitări! Great video 👍👍👍😎
Enjoyed watching this with my 5 year old grandson. He said "is that a plate?...I love it, its pretty"
He was very interested and asking me questions as we watched.... I think you have a new admirer of your work 😀😀
what size is this blank?
A music professor I once had said this about drummers: "Good drummers make the easy stuff look hard. Great drummers make the hard stuff look easy."
You, sir, are a great drummer.
Beautiful. I like how you reflected the sharp detail at the rim of the dish in the base.
What happened to your four-jaw though? 😊
Круто!!! Привет из России!!!
Beautiful center piece for any table. Another work of art.
Thank you Mark! Is this something you’d have on your table centre? 😊
@@JackMackWoodturning Yes as I have an oak diningroom table.

The grain of that oak wood platter is beautiful! 🤎 Love oak pieces. 🤎
So pleased you appreciate it! Thanks for watching
The finished piece really highlights the beautiful grain patterns. I could look at that for hours!
I love the wood for this one, I had to look at it twice to see the lip you had on the outside. amazing brother!
How wonderfully satisfying to watch!
❤ Great work Jack! As usual!
Thanks Rick! 💚
Very nice!
Thank you! Cheers! Did you like the wood?
@JackMackWoodturning Yes I liked the Oak burl wood. Oak burl can be very challenging!
Beautiful! Just beautiful!🩷

Look at the previous video 👍
U just cannot beat it.
You can’t beat the platter?
Can you sharpen a pencil on the lathe
Yes. Very easily 😉
😘😘
👋👍
Gorgeous as usual Jack! A lot of turners I know don't like turning oak, not sure why, it can turn out spectacular as you've demonstrated. The question of the day is what was the black putty you filled the cracks with? I assume it's some form of epoxy putty? Cheers!
Hi Andy, it looks like a two part epoxy putty called "Milliput" that we can get here in Britain. It comes in different colours too. Best regards.
One word - exquisite!
Cheers Angela! That’s very kind. Where are you watching from?
@@JackMackWoodturning Hello Jack. I do like how you turn what looks like an ordinary piece of wood into something beautiful - and this one was particularly lovely. I live in the West Country so appreciate the “Britishness” of what you create. Keep up the good work!
Beautiful I love it ❤🇦🇺
