What you said about customers reluctance to call you back is exactly why you see other plumbers on UA-cam saying, "I've been doing this for 17 years and never had a problem" when you can blatantly see that what they are doing isn't right.
@@bluebulldog_uk Obviously Honeywell Diverter Valve manufacturer may have a problem with those shut off balls swelling for a pastime , so just by replacing that top plate coupled to new Ball , it Sorts the Problem... great Work Around, personally i would have likes with the Tiles behind a door especially , but you went that extra mile to keep a person happy... Great Result.
ive never even thought of this , so its defo an option if im busy that day , but probably never will as im stuck in my old ways of changing the lot ,great tip though
That’s a really good tip regarding the MV. Look forward to your video on the diverter valves, your knowledge of plumbing coupled with your hand skills is as good as it gets. In addition to said knowledge you have what I would call “ The extra mile factor” ie you go above and beyond for your customers. Not every plumber would be bothered going back to rehang that towel rad. You my friend or the bench mark for plumbing. If there was a Dali lama for plumbing you would be up there Luke. Keep the content coming. Superb work my good man.
With blowtorches, if I've ever had issue setting it off, I just turn it upside down and spam the button like you did while hitting the curve of the tip with something metal, it shakes the tiny bit of flux/solder that is stuck in there :) Top video as always, sometimes we gotta go back to job, it is what it is!
Thanks, Luke. I've done this myself, on occasion, with the diverter valve. It's your main port of call for when the rads warm up some without demand, same time the hot water is on. The rad did look more to the right on first glance. I would have looked to have it centralised from the outset, but the customer looked at it before you left, and I know how you felt, hearing they weren't satisfied and they're elderly, and you'd have wished they said something there and then, because you want customer satisfaction. It happens, and when it's all square, and you chat about it afterwards, it's all good. That's how we all get on. Well, should do.
Yeah mate in hindsight was my mistake it looked lot better afterwards, yeah the diverter repair is something I do rarely in certain circumstances, works well with tight access 👍
Can I just ask if the left hand pipe for towel rail refit could have been done by cutting just enough at the left hand end (keeping the pipe still attached to its valve) so just reconnect by resweating at the elbow only? No need then for a coupling in this left hand pipe. Me thinks...? Thanks to you for kindly sharing your experience, working knowledge... very appreciated!

and next week called back because the actuator is gone, just replace the whole thing , not much different in labour costs and the client has something which should last another 20 years
That torch you’re working with isn’t designed for inverted brazing. You should know this yeah don’t you agree. Benzomatic has a brilliant website with everything you’d want to know about soldering.
Did nt know that you could change the plate tidy job on the towel rail they should have said at the start where they wanted the towel rail saved a lot of hassle
I think I'd have launched that blowtorch out the customers window. 😂 Shrewsbury college went over to them just before I left. Wasn't impressed I prefer my superfire with the swirl tip.

New one for me always change the whole body or just the head didn’t realise u can buy the plate great video 👊🏼
Thanks mate 👍👍
Yes did know you could change the plate , good to see some one carrying it out.
👊👍
Nice! never thought of doing that, Cheers Mate
👊👍
Always fold those cleaning strips in half down the lenth when cleaning pipes - gives you more control and you can target stubborn areas !
Learned something new today. Didnt know you could buy new plate's. Thats why i love plumbing.
👊👍

Thanks mate really appreciate the kind words 👊👍
Yep nice job with the radiator, job satisfaction with a happy customer 👍
Thanks mate 👍
Yes I’m like you I’d rather go back and have a happy customer. Didn’t know you got the plates for the mv 👍
I thought of doing that but never trusted it would work now i do. Thanks mate
yes mate ...more interested in a happy customer..it leads to more work
100% mate 👍
Good job mate
Thanks mate 👍
Nice one, I had that issue :) not sure I’ll be diy’ing that one myself
Nice work!
Thanks mate 👍

I’ve bought a super fire 2 now mate I stripped it to pieces and still would not work…drove me insane 😅😅
I would of centred the towel rail in the first instance but s-it happens 😅 you sorted it 👍
Got there in end 😅
Nice one mate. Didn’t know they existed. Will get one for the van
Handy to keep mate only about £25-£30
Blooming awesome that buddy. Great repair. Does this only work on Honeywell though? Cheers
No mate I’m going to do a full video on diverters and how to repair there’s a few you can repair
Great tip will definitely try this on my next one
👊👍
Great content as always mate, what's the brand of paste you use on rad valves
Thanks mate. Jet lube V2 plus

Worth using the quality mv when it comes to spares
Nice video Luke 👍😁👍😁
Thanks mate 👍👍
great job mate well done nice one
Thanks mate 👍
Very useful. How did you know it must be the plate and not the head, i.e. how did you know the head was working correctly?
Moving into hot water and heating positions as it should be and trickling round heating always the ball 👍
Can I just ask if the left hand
pipe for towel rail refit could have been done by cutting just enough at the left hand end (keeping the pipe still attached to its valve) so just reconnect by resweating at the elbow only? No need then for a coupling in this left hand pipe. Me thinks...?
Thanks to you for kindly sharing your experience, working knowledge... very appreciated!
Yeah could have sweated it off save a coupler I suppose but when it’s painted shouldn’t really see it but fair point mate 👍
Hi where did you get the plate from ,,,any part No please great fix I did not know this
Regards
Graham
Hi mate I will link below but you can use the part number to source from wherever,
I normally use city plumbing thou

and next week called back because the actuator is gone, just replace the whole thing , not much different in labour costs and the client has something which should last another 20 years
If it goes il let you know but actuator wasn’t as old as body so if I was 5 years old they should get maybe 15 years now?
My plumber just turned a flow tap down a bit from the immersion tank. It was letting water into the heating system. Problem solved in seconds.
Not all people are as understanding as you,it becomes a pain to revisit jobs
👊👍
After fitting that towel rail, are those air vents in the airing cupboard too low now.
Fair point, air just going straight into that towel rail but with the combined Feed shouldn’t pull in any air really
If i had access i think i would just change the valve and have done
State of that tiling 😂
Nice job with the rad was that a combined feed and vent with the valve you put on it ?
Yes mate 👍 only do it when the boiler has a overheat stat thou
On the second client… so that want the rad moved to be on the centre yet they are ok with the tiling….?lol😂
Yeah couldn’t get a match unfortunately so best of a bad situation
Just remember if the top of the lid has a dimple on it you can, if it’s flat on top don’t try and remove the head, if you know you know 😂
Oh I know…learnt the hard way 😅
@ hot or cold system hard way 😂
It shouldn't matter if the pressure is off though.@@bluebulldog_uk
I don't know, what's the issue if it's flat on top?
Flood insurance😂
This nerrad torches are crap. Had one for a couple of days and slung it. Same issue, wouldn’t ignite
👌 👍
Feck that blow lamp in the bin 🗑️ 😂
😎👍🤜
Hasn’t been used much since I got my press gun 😎😎😂👍
You can't please everyone all of the time fair play

That torch you’re working with isn’t designed for inverted brazing. You should know this yeah don’t you agree. Benzomatic has a brilliant website with everything you’d want to know about soldering.
So the Nerrad torch you can’t use upside down? Never heard of that to be honest, Every blowtorch I’ve ever used I could
Did nt know that you could change the plate tidy job on the towel rail they should have said at the start where they wanted the towel rail saved a lot of hassle
One of them mate I just presumed and nothing got said but glad it’s sorted for them 👍
🤘😎🤘
👊👌👍🙌
BG dustsheets not fireproof then!
Unfortunately not 😂😂😂
I think I'd have launched that blowtorch out the customers window. 😂 Shrewsbury college went over to them just before I left. Wasn't impressed I prefer my superfire with the swirl tip.
