I'm 1/2 Acadian so I fully support French language rights in Canada.
But I'm also 1/2 Tlingit and not only fully support Indigenous rights in Canada...I also fully believe that Indigenous Peoples should be exempt from the bilingual laws! We've already had English shoved down our throats in Residential Schools & now we're having French doing the same!
Reconciliation doesn't include Colonial languages still being imposed upon this country's First Peoples! It's just another form of assimilation!
The Governor General, Mary Simon, is bilingual and speaks English and Inuktitut...the original language of her People's lands that is now called Canada & Quebec!
I know not all Quebecois are racist towards Indigenous Peoples...but many are! Because when they say, "je me souviens" (I remember) it's a very short memory because they forget that they are immigrants from France and are guests of the Indigenous Peoples whose lands they now call Quebec!
This racism is evident the way they're attacking Canada's first Indigenous Governor General who's from Quebec! They hide behind "French language rights" when really they're angry a "Sauvage" is their GG! 😥 Time to end this oppression & start supporting the original languages spoken on these lands long before there was a Canada or Quebec!
Gunalcheesh! I gu aa yax'waan xoni! Ixseexan!
Thank you! Do your best friend! Love you! ❤️

I enjoy all the caring government employees meeting in cyberspace each day as well, since this provides constant interaction and learning opportunities.

They should make it a law in Canada that all citizens shall learn how to speak and write Cree (nehinaw) languages when graduating high school. "Tansi" ✋

For the first time I feel disappointed that we have elected this woman the First Nations that could clearly change Canada but instead her thick skin has remained she's forgotten the people and not just First Nations either. Well she'll get her millions and her pension and her niece clothing allowance and stay quiet as our people are dying on the streets and poverty and child welfare scooped them up this woman who was allowed to continue his corruption on so many levels. She's a big disappointment and I'm truly disappointed she's been calling I saw how much that her thick skin has forgotten what it's like to be at the bottom of the Grassroots level or most of us First Nations are. Enjoy your clothing allowance and your big fat million-dollar pension

Being at home with our families makes us who we are. Strangers shouldn’t be interfering in our lives to take over our activities of daily life together, cooking, cleaning, crafts, childcare, sharing hobbies and daily life together. In urban communities the employees try to take over with daycares, and control your lives for their own employment interests. It’s a huge disrespectful control of citizens lives even depriving them of home ownership by inflating costs.
