cars like punch, venue, creta, seltos, brezza, etc are called "SUV's" in this country. i hear what you mean. why is this country selling 100-120 bhp fwd monocoque slightly elevated sedans as suv's? where is a v6 or v8 engine from an indian car manufacturer? where is the performance car culture ffs?
Good point, But the fact that Indian buyers don't buy a car for the driving experience, 1. It's a mode of transport, hence Km/L is important. 2. Status symbol, hence a driver enjoys it. We did have the Mondeo, Ikon 1.6, 1.5 City VTEC, Later the Abarth punto, Tata JTP, Though I personally hate 3 pot motors. The actual nice cars were the older BMW's with a manual box, But now keeping an old car here is turning out to be an expensive affair with the new RTO regulation of 15 years, then every 5 years. This is not a country for car lovers, We guys are a dying breed. Also the stupid rule on modifications.
Factors making cars in India soul-less: 1.) Sedans going extinct. We had so many great sedan options before- Octavia, Elantra, Corolla, Jetta, Civic, Accord, Cruze. Now we have only 4-5. 2.) Car brands leaving India- Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Opel, Ford, Fiat. 3.) Death of Diesel 4.) Decreasing number of physical buttons, increasing number of touchscreen.
Bro your absolutely correct about your fact but may be because of view or something you have tried to be specifically insulting. The facts is that india has very less demand of racing cars and you are not one for whom a company will start a whole assembly line.
As a classic car/bike owner i understand your frustration brother ❤❤ I want be an Industrial Automobile designer but lets see where i will end up cause door to my goals are very scarce in this country
Ohhhhh man this channel is soo damn underrated. Ok let's get it straight the Indian car market is basically producing commuter cars😂😂 And only way we can spice things up is to organise an Indian car racing event where at first only Indian cars will race each other sponsored by other companies too, slowly add international competition and let them innovative and learn technology step by step that's the only way to me i think we can get an Indian car with soul😂😂
I think you've got it very wrong, your average Indian is much much much poorer than the average person in the west they have to be practical and buy vehicles on factors like cost, fuel efficiency and reliability they can't afford to burn their money on a luxury purchase as they are saving up for their children's education, retirement etc. In the long future when average indian is rich we can spend on art and luxury now people have to keep their aukat in check and focus on getting ahead in life.
There is so much potential just sitting there, Tata can use Jaguar's powertrains to make performance oriented cars set one of them as a halo car like Lexus did with the LFA or Honda did with the NSX, Mahindra own PININ-FREAKING-FARINA the people who literally designed every single Ferrari pre-2013, not to mention Pininfarina made a Electric hypercar in 2018. Both companies have the resources, the required technologies and engineers at their disposal but they choose not to make such cars which infuriates me so much! Only car currently available in India which is the closest to having a soul is the Mahindra Thar and that's saying something because many people consider Thar a Wrangler knock-off
Once in a while youtube reccommends some random video on autoplay. And I had to watch Mr. 306 subscribers, stating that the Indian Car industry is soulless. All fking 27 mins of it and it was very subjective and with very little-to-no objectivity. The 'Soul' as you claim will only be brought to life if there is a large no. of people begging for it to exist. Issue with road - The country is run on middle classess tax money. If you minus all the bleed that goes into corruption and useless govt. officials, you are left with peanuts to build good roads for commuters (Mind you not auto-sports enthusiast). With abandoned pot holes and bowel movement like traffic congestion, your lucky if your 'Soul' is left undamaged by the time you get home (on both weekdays and weekends). I can't imagine indian car brands investing their time and money into researching like the western counterparts when we don't even have decent road to commute, forget enjoying thriller rides in your Mclaren. Issue with purcasing power -A normal men or women make only 18000 Rs. a month and 92 Cr out of 94 Cr voters don't make enough money to pay basic tax. With the 2 cr who are making good money, spending even 5 or 10 Lakhs is a big commitment.I can't imagine indian car brands investing their time and money into researching like the western counterparts when we don't even have actual demand for sports cars. So, the indian car makers settle to make cars that sell to the masses. Why? - Because they are capitalists and if they don't sell such 'boring' cars, then the go out of business. At which point this video becomes pointless. Be glad that somebody is trying to even try to compete in the international market when the country and its people are so backwards and under developed. Besides if everyone is so enthusiastic about supercars then shut the fk up and make your own car. Start a culture. Build communities. Let auto-makers take notice. Do private research on how to make fast cars with least cost. Become better engineers. Hey, who knows maybe Mr. 306 subscribers here can become the father of cheap indian sports cars someday (no disrespect).
All fancy terms like creativity and soul of the car are good to listen but the same companies are getting bankrupt and same soulless car makers are buying them. End of the day sustainability is important if you can't have it then you won't stay long. India is a country where money is valued. Hence people will not shellout money if they think it is not giving value to their money.
well what i think is all the best or souled cars were launched in the era when our parents were young and their ideology is more about saving and be conservative in society instead of being open minded and acceptable like Gen-Z, and now a days when Gen-Z's heading to have purchasing power with the mindset needed for these cars, WE DON'T HAVE ANY IN THE MARKET, The soul cars was launched in the wrong generation, that's why we purchase or import foreign cars. HOPE THIS CHANGE OR SOMEONE FROM US HAVE TO COME FORWARD.
India needs a car that proves a cheap sports car is viable. Even if india sees it as a A-B mostly that 15% of people who are enthusiats are still going be looking for that in a cheaper range.
It is clear that you're trying to make several points in your video I will counter them or respond to them one by one - What is a Soul in a car? You go on an on about this so tell me tell u what is this soul you're talking about. Take the 2nd Swift Diesel 1.3 DDiS for example. Cars that are made keeping in mind people's needs, their wants and their desires. Don't think that Indians don't want fast cars or that they do not want to daily a Ford Mustang GT. But understand that India is a different country. It was born not even a century ago. People are still learning the basics. There's turmoil, hardships and less money than you can even imagine to go around. So if a manufacturer, takes all that into account and makes a car which fulfills people's needs and also gives them a slice of what it is to have a fun driving car, without making them go bakrupt in owning the said vehicle, will be a car with a Soul. Understand this! If a car is cheaply made, that doesn't make it souless, If a car is an econobox, that doesn't make it souless, If a car lacks a big 2-litre engine, that doesn't make it souless, everything depends upon the context. The Diesel range of Maruti - Swift, S Cross and Ciaz 1.6, these are really great cars that do have Soul. The Indian car makers, - namely Mahindra and Tata have their own issues. Even I aagree with them. But you're still young. When you'll grow older you'll truly realise what the Soul is. Rest said, good attempt at making the video. Keep making them, keep learning.
Couldn't have said it any better. We are content simply shouting from the roof tops that we are a super power (read: we do not have anything to learn from the rest of the world!)
People go for Samsung instead of Lava as a flagship phone so Lave don't launch a flagship phone, same case with Mahindra we successfully discontinued our flagship SUV G4 Alturas and preferred Toyota Fortuner. Same way even Tata don't dare to launch a C segment sedan where all other companies are present in India.
I have always wondered why havent we manufactured a cheap V8 yet?!? I mean come on! We have the manufacturing capability and the sales so why not offer an indian made v6 or v8 in our cars? But all these r pointless with the national speed limit at 80kph or 100kph 🤦♂️ plus the roads we make are never smooth and plain they are always like a roller coaster ride or full of pot holes.
You’re mostly right but it’s all about the cost to benefit analysis. Before you make a generalised statement about Indian cars you must understand that most Indians do not care what they drive as long as they get from point A to point B. This has nothing to do with soul but rather to do with the cultural barrier. Japanese cars are among the best but the average Tokyo resident doesn’t own a car. Does Japan lack soul then ?
this video is bit miss leading. the problem is with not indian car manufacturer ,the problem lies within people(customers), and government policies. that is also the reason american, european, and few japanese manufacturer left indian market. pininfarina and mahindra's formula e team is managed by mahindra and mahindra group so they can easily come up with 500-1000 hp supercar and so do tata, but they wont cause we have shitty government policies and shitty customer market where people happy buying wagon r and puting cng kit in it.
You are blaming the engineers and manufacturers? What you think about the consumers ? They will only make or they will try to make what is in demand, our consumers are not much enthusiastic as japan Germany or us
He is also adding in international markets aswell... It's also important for an automotive company to stand out in a sea of other brands... A unique distinction also helps in setting up a fan base, unique to the brand And those engineering graduates just want to make the most stale cars as possible which blend in the sea of other brands... I mean every single automotive brand has a special car, which influences the mass consumers into thinking the brand is interesting...
this video is great but the way you are speaking is kind of throwing me off its like youre reading a script one word at a time instead of a sentence... idk might just be me
Well I found your video distasteful and pointless. Without knowing history about the industry not being able to make their own car(properly) until last 35 years, this video is quite disgrace. If you feel Indian car industry is soulless, why the more soulful cars of foreigners are not at all there on Indian road?! Because they failed 😂 and exited the country The so called foreign brands have headstart by a century.
Searching SOUL in machines 🤣🤣🤣 For me they are just a fast medium to reach from point A to B and for manufacturers it's just another business driven by demand and profits.

Also i think the nissan 350z would have been a much better example to use instead of the skyline, since nissan was facing a hard time and were trying to cut back on there loses they experienced during the late 90s to early 2000s and even after that, they released the nissan 350z...
cars like punch, venue, creta, seltos, brezza, etc are called "SUV's" in this country. i hear what you mean. why is this country selling 100-120 bhp fwd monocoque slightly elevated sedans as suv's?
where is a v6 or v8 engine from an indian car manufacturer? where is the performance car culture ffs?
The sad reality is our most iconic and beloved car , the HM ambassador was based on a morris oxford. A British made car.
No it's a blend of both , hence it's a INDO-BRITISH PRODUCT.
Really enjoyed the video 😂😂 car lover will get this video
Factors making cars in India soul-less:
1.) Sedans going extinct. We had so many great sedan options before- Octavia, Elantra, Corolla, Jetta, Civic, Accord, Cruze. Now we have only 4-5.
2.) Car brands leaving India- Chevrolet, Mitsubishi, Opel, Ford, Fiat.
3.) Death of Diesel
4.) Decreasing number of physical buttons, increasing number of touchscreen.
Bro your absolutely correct about your fact but may be because of view or something you have tried to be specifically insulting.
The facts is that india has very less demand of racing cars and you are not one for whom a company will start a whole assembly line.
Amazing video 😀
the difference between you and me rightnow is you worked and made a yt video, you're a lap ahead bro, see you at finish line. godspeed
the video we all needed
very well made
Curve EV is perfect for this Video 😂
Topic:🗿Narration: 🤡
give this man 500k subs
Cars are soulless machines. No matter how you car enthusiasts try to romanticise it. Cars are a liability, a burden.
As a classic car/bike owner i understand your frustration brother ❤❤
I want be an Industrial Automobile designer but lets see where i will end up cause door to my goals are very scarce in this country
Don't compare our garib desh with developed countries.
Everything went downhill after Polo got discontinued....
Damn, You said some true facts
Ohhhhh man this channel is soo damn underrated.
Ok let's get it straight the Indian car market is basically producing commuter cars😂😂
And only way we can spice things up is to organise an Indian car racing event where at first only Indian cars will race each other sponsored by other companies too, slowly add international competition and let them innovative and learn technology step by step that's the only way to me i think we can get an Indian car with soul😂😂
btw my brother watches grogtv and boy we love car mechanic sim games
hey, you just earned your 420th subscriber
Disclaimer was epic 😂
Indian Car Industries are built on Businesses not Aspirations
A quality content by Indian
I think you've got it very wrong, your average Indian is much much much poorer than the average person in the west they have to be practical and buy vehicles on factors like cost, fuel efficiency and reliability they can't afford to burn their money on a luxury purchase as they are saving up for their children's education, retirement etc. In the long future when average indian is rich we can spend on art and luxury now people have to keep their aukat in check and focus on getting ahead in life.
SUNDAR PICHAI, SATYA NADELLA ARE JUST C.E.O JUST ANOTHER EMPLOYEE AND NOT FOUNDERS
Appeal of govt job is job security, good marriage alliance and fat dowry.
I have no idea what you are trying to point to.
Finally a based comment in this sea of 12 year olds :)
Extra tax for bigger engine says it all
All fancy terms like creativity and soul of the car are good to listen but the same companies are getting bankrupt and same soulless car makers are buying them.
Avanti ? Check out Bangalore motorminds Hyperion 1 ( which is not a production car yet)
India needs a car that proves a cheap sports car is viable. Even if india sees it as a A-B mostly that 15% of people who are enthusiats are still going be looking for that in a cheaper range.
Soul?? 😂😂😂 India sees car as a tool. Simple.
You need to buy supercars and drive them in your backyard and feel the SOUL
It is clear that you're trying to make several points in your video I will counter them or respond to them one by one -
What is a Soul in a car?
If a car is cheaply made, that doesn't make it souless,
If a car is an econobox, that doesn't make it souless,
If a car lacks a big 2-litre engine, that doesn't make it souless,
everything depends upon the context.
Waiting for Indian equivalent of byd and tesla.
So if you want to make these cars go make it.
U buy car after knowing it's mileage and service cost over practically so ,,, like people like industry
I can understand u man 😢 same thing is happening in Srilanka 🇱🇰
Sri Lanka has a car industry??
😂😂it happens only in India if someone going higher then just pull his or her legs......we have seen many scenarios in India in past.....
You yourself sound soulless
A car is a means of travel. Soul is nonsense.
A unique distinction also helps in setting up a fan base, unique to the brand
And those engineering graduates just want to make the most stale cars as possible which blend in the sea of other brands...
I mean every single automotive brand has a special car, which influences the mass consumers into thinking the brand is interesting...
Kitna deti hai?
Tere pass konti gadi hai bhai 😂😂😂😂
🤣
Hey who are you ?
Why t f are you thinking exactly like me ? Mirroring me ?
Are you a brother i lost somehow in the past ? 🤔🤨
This dude is so Naive ..
True
this video is great but the way you are speaking is kind of throwing me off
its like youre reading a script one word at a time instead of a sentence... idk might just be me
His accent is pretty thick
@@memesofproduction3 its not the accent its the sudden stopping in the middle of the sentence
Go to school little bro
Little bro doesn't understand the concept of money 😂😂
Well I found your video distasteful and pointless. Without knowing history about the industry not being able to make their own car(properly) until last 35 years, this video is quite disgrace.
If you feel Indian car industry is soulless, why the more soulful cars of foreigners are not at all there on Indian road?! Because they failed 😂 and exited the country
The so called foreign brands have headstart by a century.
the sole root of all the international brands leaving India and us not getting too cars is the govt and taxes
Do you watch my UA-cam feed ?
What's missing in my washing machine? Soul 😐
good video,, but just get to the point why so much explaining
All bull ship from someone who has no clue of the real world.
Bro now in india only VW group cars looks like it has soul (im not a fanboy though)
Shuru mein kuch jyada ni ho gaya !
Last tak kuch jyada hi ho gaya 😂
Searching SOUL in machines 🤣🤣🤣
For me they are just a fast medium to reach from point A to B and for manufacturers it's just another business driven by demand and profits.
Abhe tum ho kaun...thumara kya achievements hey bhai?
