i really needed this video. my gecko was hatched oct 10th 2016 so he is almost 4 years old and hes only about 20 grams and i wanna see him be the healthy chonker he can be! I know for sure his care is perfect, however, part of the problem may be he DOES NOT like insects anymore. When he was younger, he LOVED dubias but slowly stopped eating them as much, then all together stopped eating them. So i needed to hear that while I am doing everything right, he may just be a slow at putting on weight.
This was very helpful. My gecko is still very small (6/7g) at 6months and I've done crickets, pangea breeding, all different flavors of cgd, and he stilllll grows at his own rate. It IS starting to pick up now that its summer though. I noticed he's really horking down his meals now so I'm HOPING that winter was just his factor. Lol
I’m having the same issue but my gecko barely eats anything, he loves crickets but That’s not nutritious enough to give everyday. Not sure on what to do!
My gecko is about 1 year old and I’ve been feeding it watermelon Pangea for all the time I’ve had it wish I watched this vid a long time ago thanks for the video it helped a lot
My crested gecko is around 26 grams and he doesn’t care to eat insects. I have him on the Pangea figs and infects. Would the Pangea growth you mention be better to put weight on him then the figs and insects? He’s also 2 years old. I got him about a month ago from a breeder.
My crested gecko will not eat any bugs and will only eat Repashy fruit based mixes. What can I do if my gecko won't eat anything else but the one formula? How do I switch her over to eating formula with bugs in it?
my gecko was like this too! what i did was slowly mix the two diets in ratios until he was completely switched to an insect included diet. i switched him from watermelon pangea to fig and insect pangea this way.
My gecko really hates pangea growth and breeding, is impartial to pangea fruit and insects, and hates repashy grubs n fruit, but goes NUTS for pangea fig and insects. I guess its the smell or something, but each time it enters his tank within 20 seconds he will have jumped to his feeder ledge and start taking huge bites out of the stuff.
I was thinking of getting a Juvenile Crestie from Pangea (one of their "mystery packs".) is a 12x12x18 Exo Terra tank enough room for them? There is conflicting information online saying you need a 18x18x24 and some with 12x12x18.
Jazz0 12x12x18 enclosures have only worked for me to keep babies and smaller juvies in, and I personally prefer to move my adults up to 18x18x24 enclosures if I’m keeping them by themselves. Most cresties like to move around a lot at night, and I’ve noticed that the more space and decor you provide them, the better and more active they are. I keep my breeding pairs in fully decked-out 18x18x36 enclosures, and they’ve done great in them. Most other small breeders and hobbyists that I know keep them in 18x18x24 enclosures or an equivalent tub size as adults and large juvies. As long as it has enough places to hide and climb, they should be good. Of course, there will always be differing opinions on this, so I would say looking into as many sources as you can and making a choice based off of that is the best option hahah. I’ve personally tried using the 12x12x18 tanks a couple times with hatchlings/smaller sized juvies, but as they get to larger sizes it doesn’t seem to provide them nearly enough space to move around and explore, and they aren’t nearly as active. I have heard of some people having success with 12x12x18 enclosures, but in my individual situation would rather give my geckos what I know they will use - and what has worked well for me. Hope that helps a bit!
That's highly debatable as 64 quarts is about 15 gal which I personally think should be seen as the minimum. 20 gallons obviously would be better but you have to keep In minds that many people successfully keep cresties in 10 gals. In my opinion for one adult 15 is just fine
my gargoyle gecko is kind of thin, i can see his ribs at some angles. not sure how old he is but he’s 8.4 grams last time i weighed him. i don’t know if he eats on his own but i’m afraid he’s too thin
I have noticed mine love crickets a lot it seems like more than there rapashy mix would it be better too get the insect flavored pangaea mix so don't feed too many crickets
My slowest grower is Fritz. We adopted him from petsmart. He has a neurological disorder, they said he was blind. He is not blind but has major wobble, and flips out and does flips. We got him in Sept 2018 he was 1.2 grams he is now 3 grams. I have to hand feed him every day even though he has a small tank. He doesn't seem to find his food on the floor. He climbs fine, sticks to things fine, drinks water off leaves fine but just cant seem to find food. So hand feeding him some days he eats quit a bit and other times 2 or 3 licks and wants to walk around and explore. So he is around 5 or 6 months old and only 3 grams but he is doing fine. One of my others Groot is same age and he is 7.3 grams and when we got him he was 4. grams.
I agree 32 quarts is only about 7 or 8 gallons so that would be ideal for a juvenile, however his 64 quuart tubs are a good size and he should put all his adults In them
Hey um.. HELP i was holding my creative ( baby still) and my dog stepped on his toe .. he came completely off and well he has four toes at the moment! Any advice ? DOES IT GROW BACK ? idk if he broke his rist to need help determining.. I’m scared. ( his name is sparky ) edit: I INSPECTED HIM AND PART OF HIS RIST IS PUSHED IN WITH HIS TOE HELP WHAT DO I DO!?
Sostic they all live in a cage together with a fake tree and a food dish. They only eat the powder mixed with water every other day. They also have a fogged hat goes off twice a day for about half an hour. They seem healthy I’m just confused on why they aren’t growing
@@zoethomas1134 Personally I would use 6qt plastic shoe boxes from Walmart with holes drilled or melted into them for ventilation. They're only about $1 a piece
Tried so many different things to try to make my gecko eat crickets but no matter what my gecko will not he will only eat the pangea and he is a very slow grower
Mines like that too I can only get her to eat crickets if they are smothered in gecko diet. So I just started feeding her the Pangea juvenile growth and breeding formula with insects and it’s helped her a lot!!
This was the same problem for me a couple of months ago, I heard that if this is the case when feeding crickets you should pull the head off so that the juice comes out the top of it, they should smell and taste it and go straight for it.
I'm hoping that Hide will be ready to breed by the start of next year, fingers crossed!

Temp and humidity definitely matters.
Happy to find this video! My little Bing seems so tiny! My male is massive lol
That is one chunky boi
Mine is 5 g and 6 months old. Eating well and has a good cage, just slow
same here, i am trying not to be too worried but i really want to know if he is okay
Currently my smallest gecko is 19grams at 11months
Not too bad

You're welcome! Goodluck with your gecko
Interesting video
I dont own geckos but like to keep up on how they are cared for in case I ever get a gecko rescue

my gecko does not like bugs so I got him the Pangea breeding formula...
That's perfect

very informative and helpful. thank you!
My gecko for a while did not touch crickets so I had to go a while without feeding her crickets because she did not like them
And that's okay
Great video!

Dude, your adults need to be kept at a minimum of 20 gallons! Even 64 quarts is too small for an adult.

In the UK we say the minimum is 30 gallons - 45x45x60cm for adults
@@adamsneath6976 that's 24 gal in uk
@@jckproductions4988 30 US gallons which I assume you're talking about, yes it's about 24 imperial gallons...
Whichever way you're arguing it almost all UK keepers would say that it's too small

My crested gecko is 1 year and only 13 grams ? I’ve tried different flavours of Pangea, crickets, and it’s cage is large, and ideas what to do ?
13g at one year isn't too bad, I'd say you're on the right track
My gecko is 3 months old and is like an inch without tail
OMG! Mine is the same :(
I have noticed mine love crickets a lot it seems like more than there rapashy mix would it be better too get the insect flavored pangaea mix so don't feed too many crickets

Thanks, he is doing great so i have no doubt he will.
Mine is 15g at around 1.5 year old 💔💔
I have a matching gecko 6:34
Blend bugs into their pangea
Isn’t the minimum for cresties 20 gallons 32 quarts is WAYYYY too small then right?

Take him to the vet if he's not already dead
My gecko won't each chunks
Mine is a year old and is as small as a baby and hasn’t grown since I got him a year ago
I'm having the same problem. I'm in the Midwest and I got him during winter, so maybe that's it. I'm started feeding him Pangea with bugs
My gecko is 5months and only 3 grams
I have 3 geckos and they are about a year old and only weigh 2 and 3 grams. What do I do??
Something with the care must be off. Could you give me some more details please?

Can you bring your gecko to the vet to see what gender it is and how old it is?
That's not something you would go to a vet for
If it has balls it's a male. No balls =female. They need to weigh around 7-15 grams to be able to tell.
Nice vid! I’m asking just because I don’t know, do you have a P.O. Box? Keep up the great work!
I don't sorry!
I can’t messeger my lizard but I know he ain’t growing
So mine lives on pangaea only and is a slow grower what kind of diet changes should I start off with ?
I would feed crickets at least once a week
Can you house multiple Geckos together?
Sometimes you can it’s not a finite thing
