    Hello from Linda and Noggin! I'm going to try giving her food on my finger and see if she likes it. I can't believe she's a year and a half old. She's slim, but she eats well every day. I love the way you handle your geckos. You really have a gift.

    Thank you, I have two babies atm, and two on the way. Just lost an egg the other day, so sad but I guess it’s nature. I haven’t hand fed yet, but they seem to be doing fine with the fruit flies and small crickets, aswell as every other day fruit cups.

    could you do a video about lighting for baby/hatchling crested geckos. Reptifiles recommends lighting with a fluorescent lights with a compact bulb but i’m scared of hurting my baby

    • @tmreptile
      @tmreptile  9 місяців тому +1

      I don’t use any lighting for my crested geckos tbh. I’ve grown multiple generations without uvb and they’re all completely healthy and great adults.
      I don’t say that to steer you away from doing it! I think you should if you want to! I was only saying I don’t use them so I don’t really know much about them unfortunately.

    Do you recommend starting with a juvenile? As a first timer i wanna make sure i goge it thr best chance to grow and live as long as possible.

    • @tmreptile
      @tmreptile  10 місяців тому +2

      I wouldn’t necessarily say that. I feel like you just need to understand crestie care. The babies are only challenging because they’re more likely to get stuck shed and it can be a challenge to get off

  • @vertigoog2431
    @vertigoog2431 4 місяці тому +1

    when they first hatch… do you recommend moving them immediately? if we miss the hatch how will we know if they went through first shed to then move them if not? thank you!

    • @tmreptile
      @tmreptile  4 місяці тому +2

      I honestly move them to the 6qt tote tank as soon as I notice them. I give them a plant that is able to help them shed if needed. And I mist a tad heavier than normal so it stays nice and humid for them to shed easy.
      Once you hatch a few out, you’ll kinda learn the difference on if they shed or not. They look different after they’ve shed. But it takes a few times of hatching them out to fully see it I feel like

    Is there any way you could make a gargoyle gecko care video I know them and cresties are similar but I want to know how similar and I'm considering getting a gargoyle within the next few months thank you for all of the helpful information on these little guys!!

    • @tmreptile
      @tmreptile  Рік тому +2

      I will for sure but I don’t know when. I don’t have much footage on them since I down own any yet. A care guide will likely follow after I get some! So yes, but it’ll be awhile lol, sorry!

    My baby crested gecko has pooped but has no white urate he’s active looks healthy , he will also sometimes skip a day of eating is that okay? I’ve been having a lot of anxiety over my baby gecko 😵‍💫 , he has a water bowl available at all times and I spray him down one good time and let it dry out a little then spray again.

    • @tmreptile
      @tmreptile  2 місяці тому +2

      @@sleepysleep1886 It’s normal for them to eat every other day honestly. And as far as misting, spray, let it dry, then spray again. If you’re keeping it constantly wet you could create problems
      If he looks healthy and is acting healthy I wouldn’t worry about it. If you notice weird behavior or poops, maybe visit a vet

    At what point do you move them into a bigger enclosure? I have a baby, about 1 week old I don’t know the weight. I’ve been hand feeding and they seem to be doing ok, I just don’t know at what point I can put him in his bigger enclosure. Thank you :)

    • @tmreptile

    At what weight do they stop gaining spots? :)

    • @tmreptile
      @tmreptile  Рік тому +1

      Idk tbh! Just based off observing mine, mine tend to keep developing spots (and growing the size of the spots) up until about 35g or so. They still will get more and some of the spots will continue to grow in size, it’s just the majority of them are when they’re 35g and smaller based on what mine have done
