I didn't think my gecko was eating until I started putting less in their little cup then I could see when it was eaten down to the bottom. Great video!
I bought the bottle caps off your website! And almost thought it was gonna b a scam because I never got the shipping email, but I just got them yesterday and they are so freaking cute!! Thank you for the handwritten letter!! That was super sweet!
The LED light actually did the trick for me - great tip! It bumped the daytime enclosure temp up by just 2 degrees but it was enough to get my little dude eating better.
My crestie absolutely refuses to eat live insects which makes me a *little* sad - but they LOVE LOVE LOVE Pangea fig with insects, so it's chill. I loved this video! I appreciate all of the insight!
I watched a bunch of Crested Gecko videos like yours and many others before I got mine. And I love her soooo much. She actually doesn’t mind being held and whenever I try putting her back into her tank she crawls more up my arm.
i had an issue where i was feeding meal replacement and mealworms and crickets and im almost positive my little guy was only eating insects, i had to stop feeding him insects to get him to actually eat meal replacement, and on top of that i spent loads of money trying to find a meal replacement he liked, btw its watermelon mixed with fig... and he wont eat anything but those two mixed lol. crazy how theyre all so unique with personalities.
You remind me of Lukas Gage! But great content! This really helped. I thought my Rye (my crested) wasn’t eating but he’s just a juvy and wasn’t eating as much as I thought he would, just putting slight dents in his food! Helped me save money and reduce waste😊
Thank you. I just moved my juvenile from the 30 gallon set up I thought was GREAT into a 10 gallon conversion tank, and I will stop the hand feeding that I thought was so cute. Bastian will hopefully start eating on his own now.

I have had 2 female Cresties in a 18x18x36 for 5 years and they have done very well. I love cresties and watch my girls constantly to make sure they are eating and happy.

I just got a crested gecko , the room goes under 70 degrees so I got a very low watt heat bulb connected to a thermostat I keep it around 74-75. Wondering if you or anyone can tell me if that’s alright ?
I just got my first crestie a couple of weeks ago. He's a juvenile. He will eat crickets (calcium dusted) and lick pangea off my finger. I am super worried about him getting MBD though because he doesn't seem to eat unless it's off my finger. Daytime temp 76 w 50%-70% humidity. Supplement w UVA/UVB bulb
When I first bought mine the owner told me he was only fed this jelly like substance and crickets, I don’t know if the guy knew that I had done my research bc he told me not to put crested geckos on any other diet than the one he had. As soon as we got home tho I started hand feeding my gecko and transitioning him over to pangea, honestly I think he likes it a lot better and I have no problems w his eating.
So my gecko ate regularly on naturalistic sub, but then I temporarily switched to some cloth, to keep cleaning easy. Then I switched back to a more natural look, with a bit of substrate, and that’s when he went on a short hunger strike. He was suspicious of his substrate 👀 😂
Tyler, what if i want to keep my gecko in a more naturalistic setup? with the arcadia system no synthetic D3 and UV lights. I ask because arcadia only have 1 flavour.
Hi! My 8mo crested gecko will eat if I hold it in front of her face but struggles to find it on her own. It may be because it’s a large enclosure. It’s a 18x24x24. is this large size affecting her ability to find her food source? I can’t get her a smaller enclosure at the moment so I’ll have to just invest in more bowls and spend time feeding her. I also keep my crested gecko in the basement and the room temp is 65. I use a heat bulb and keep the thermostat at 73°. The top of the enclosure doesn’t get above 75-78. I also use an led bulb as well as a uvb bulb. Is this too much or is this okay since the room is generally below 70? Thank you for your help!!!!
You said LED or UVB for a little heat, but LED actually shouldn't give off heat basically at all unless you're directly touching the LED. I would say florescent lights would be a better option because they do give off some heat.
It's been a full week now and I still haven't noticed that my gecko has eaten. I keep a slim water bottle cap with a modest amount of food in it, so I would be able to tell if it was being eaten. if i do have to resort to hand feeding, how much should i be letting her eat? My vet said she is 100% healthy, her tank is very well made and the right temp and humidity, with day night cycle. She will not eat, ever I put a camera for motion detection to watch because I was so afraid.
