WARNING!! WARNING!! please ignore any strange messages on here, they weren't from me, seems like a spam bot has got on the loose! it looks like it comes from me, but it is an impersonation account - don't interact with them! Thank you and for the time being my comments will be turned off on future videos until UA-cam have dealt with them. 💗💗
I have seen other crafters posting this warning. UA-cam really needs to get a handle on it!
I used tracing paper! Love it!
Oooh, I am going to have to use tracing paper, someone also mentioned here in the comments to use dressmaking tissue - I shall be trying both of these very soon! 💗😁
I have been doing this for years. It all srarted when i could not find the tim holtz one anywhere to buy. So, had a go at making my own and just stuck with it, its great fun and also lends a unique quality to yor pieces!
It really does make our own work more individual, which is much better, IMO. 💗💗
please ignore any strange messages on here, they weren't from me, seems like a spam bot has got on the loose! 💗💗
I love your decorated paper. It’s true. Holtz does have his own distinctive style. And we all have our own special style too if we take the time to try it. The extra effort is worth it. Thank you for the inspiration ❤
Thanks Wendy, I really love Tim's style, but yeah, I much prefer to be a bit more individual with my arts and crafts, you are right, the extra effort really is worth it! 💗💗
I gave this a try on packing paper. Turned out great! Thanks for the idea!
Thanks Tonya, oh yes, that would be great on packing paper - great idea! 💗💗
I've done similar on old pieces of dress pattern - with the added advantage that there is usually some print on them to start you off!
I love that idea, Sue, I will definitely try it, thank you! 🥰❤

This is fantastic! I almost didn't click on this bc I thought it was yet another new Holtz release--lol. I'm sorta anti-follow the herd, imagine that. You have a terrific collection of stamps. Very very cool. Thank you for the great ideas.
Thanks Ker, I love his stuff, but tend to not want to use it otherwise all my work would be like it was made by him, LOL. I tend to buy my stamps second hand or in sales, so my collection is rather eclectic. 💗💗
@@KariGibsonArt Can't wait to try it!

Thank you Kari, great idea and fab results.
Thanks so much Pauline, I am glad you like it! 💗💗

It's fun to use something you've made yourself. I need to find mine and make more. I hope you have a delightful day. Love&hugs
Thank you Darcy! You have a great day too! 💗💗

How fun! I love to do this as well. I use the bottom layers of napkins, tissue paper, deli paper or plain tissue by either Dina Wakely or Tim Holtz. They both have nice quality ones. I love making things ahead as you do so often. It's fun to do and a real time saver when creating. Also adds more of me / my style to the project. TYFS. PS I'm back and watching all the videos I missed.
Thanks Phinny, oh yes, good idea to use the napkin layers, I will do that. Someone in the comments also suggesting using dressmaking tissue as well. I am going to try that too. I agree, it is great to add our own style to our projects! 💗💗

Great project. I love your faux Tim Holtz paper. Beautiful.
Thank you so much Veroni! 💗💗
Lip balm (chapstick) also helps on rubber and photopolymer stamps that have lost their stick. This is lovely. I have a lot of Tim's stampers anonymous and Seth Apter stamps. I have tried with deli paper but the paper you are using creates a better collage sheet. thank you
Thank you that is very useful to know, I will do that in future! I have a very weird assortment of stamps, I do love everything that Tim Holtz makes, but if I were left to my own devices, all my work would look like a Tim Holtz clone did it, LOL. 💗💗
Glad to know the deli paper info, that's about the closest that I have too. Great reason for a trip to the Amazon store, lol.

I was wondering what the green thing was 😂
It really turned out great! It is about time I grab my stamps and put them in one place to see the great variety I have and put them to use. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
Thanks Kate, I hardly touch my organised tidy ones and almost always turn to the jumble in a box next to my desk. Out of sight, out of mind! 💗💗

How wonderful of a play with stamps. A must try. Just have to wait till I have a trip to our GFS to purchase the paper. Thanks for showing us. I am a rather new journal maker and love new things!! Blessings from Betty in Ohio.
Hi Betty, it was a lot of fun, I am not a natural stamper, but I did enjoy making this paper. Any paper will do if you can't get to the store, tissue, tracing paper, dress-making tissue (someone in the comments suggested that - clever, eh?)! Have fun with your journal journey, it is so satisfying! 💗💗
@@KariGibsonArt I will try the sewing pattern paper! Great suggestion.
please ignore any strange messages on here, they weren't from me, seems like a spam bot has got on the loose! 💗💗
I have made my own also. It's so fun to do your own. A friend of mine asked me where I bought mine, and it felt so good to tell her that I had made it.
That looks just as nice as the professional paper, but even BETTER, no other person will have your paper i their art paper. You won't see the same paper everywhere.
Thank you very much Marily, that is what I like about it, it makes our work individual! 😀💗
Love this idea! So fun!!
Thank you very much, it is a lot of fun and will be great to use in collage! 💗💗
I much prefer your paper. what a lovely thing. I don't do much paper crafting but I'm always inspired to do so when I see videos like this. Thankyou for sharing.
Thanks Doreen, have fun making your own rice paper, I love that it can be as unique as the maker! 💗💗
Thank you so much Kari, I really really enjoyed watching you create that Tim Holtz style paper, and I agree it’s better, because it’s unique too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Hi Mags, how lovely to see you commenting again, I have missed you! Thank you for your kind comment on this video, I really love everything Tim Holtz does, his style really appeals to me, but I do like to make things my own, so it is great to have my own collage papers now! I hope you are keeping safe and well too! xx💗💗xx
Thank you for showing us. I'd never thought of it but have the tools to do it! Love it. I also hoard my Tim Holtz tissue paper. I'll certainly be using more now.
please ignore any strange messages on here, they weren't from me, seems like a spam bot has got on the loose! 💗💗
Cool stamp collection. I’ve done this on White shopping bag paper as I like to use it for book covers.
Thanks Julianna, I have collected stamps over the years, I tend to buy them used from thrift shops, Ebay, destashes etc. If I do buy them new, I usually get them in sales when their prices are reduced. I love the idea of using the white shopping bag paper, it sounds perfect! 😀💗
"Journaling Planet" channel did a video she did after seeing this video. And referred us to this video. When I got here, I saw I was already subscribed to your channel. Great video! I've done this before on tissue paper some TP was wrapped in!!! It was great paper and only had a small amount of printing. It came out great. Never thought to use my deli tissue paper I have for gel plate!! TFS Austin TX USA
Yes, I saw her video yesterday, she did some lovely papers. Your idea is a great one, I have some nice papers that my toilet rolls come in, I may try that. I am glad you are subscribed, thank you! 💗💗
@@KariGibsonArt Yep! I LOVE your channel!!!
This is great. I just got a new TH stamp set so I will give this a try!
I’d only seen the Tim Holtz paper in the past week while looking at craft supplies online.
I did wonder how I’d go about making my own at the time.
Thankyou for this, what a great way to use up the stamps we all have siting unused in the craft room.
Thanks Bianca - how funny that you were on the same wavelength too! Have fun making your own! 💗💗
I never thought about doing my own stamped papers only painty papers, so thank you for sharing.
Thanks Tina! 😊💗
Absolutely love this idea. - great job!
Thanks so much Beverly, it is great for collage, I love it! 💗💗
I do make my own with rice paper and tissue paper! I think it is a cost saving issue for me🤷🏻♀️ as well as having it just be me! Love how your piece turned out! Trying to catch up on videos from the artist I follow-nice to hear your voice!
Thanks Peg, yes it is a lot more economical and individual, I've been doing it for a while too, mostly for friends in happy mail and this is the first time I thought to record a video. Oh, I am so behind on videos at the moment too, it is hard to keep up! 💗💗
Love this! Brilliant idea and such fun! Ill definitely give it a try. tfs Jo Ann xx
Thank you very much Jo Ann, I am so glad you will be giving it a try! 😀🥰xx
I love stamping on tissue I've done it in the past... Love how yours has turned out... They are fun to do.... 😁😁💖
Thanks Elaine, I have done it on ordinary tissue before and loved it, this paper is a bit sturdier though. Someone in the comments recommended using dressmaking tissue and I am going to do that next (I may have "accidentally" purchased some more of those KatzKraft stamp sets)! 💗💗💗💗
@@KariGibsonArt oooh nice, where did you get them from... Or is it in your description box I didn't look sorry 🙄💖
@@ChattylaineCreates I think it was That's Crafty, the link is in the description, many are greatly reduced! XxxX
@@KariGibsonArt oh yes I know them... 😁😁❤️
I have used this idea too but not with caligraphy paper, but thats agreat idea! Thanks for sharing Kari.
Thanks Maria, I have used ordinary tissue before and it is much flimsier, but quite nice, this calligraphy paper is much sturdier. 💗💗
What kind of paper did you use? How did it turn out?
@my take at The Lake
I used the regular tissue paper only,(the type I saved from shoe boxes when you buy a pair of shoes) which is more transparent but flimsy. What kari is using here is much more sturdier. But I guess you can stamp/print on anything really, even fabric 😊
@@mariacheung647 Excellent--thank you so kindly 🤓

Great idea, I made some using tracing paper and they look really good....
Thanks Margarita, I am going to have to try that, it sounds lovely! 💗💗
I did something like this on tissue paper for a friend. I still haven't done some for myself lol. Love how yours came out. I also love the postage theme in Tim's collage papers but I know I can make my own so I have never had The real stuff lol
Thank you, yes I have used tissue paper in the past, it was really lovely. I have a few friends that do mail art, so Tim's postage one really appealed to me. Now I am just going to make my own on different papers too! Have fun making yours! 💗💗
I love this idea. I have a ton of stamps i can put to good use on something like this. Great idea for a card front or book cover.
