- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- In this video I create my own small collage papers to use in various mixed media projects. I recycle papers or use scraps, a few supplies (you don't beed many) and some basic mark-making items. This is for our April Week 2 Prompt 'Recycle, Repurpose, Reuse / Use Your Scraps' in The Mixed Media Emporium Facebook Group.

I have been saving my kids school work and notes from when .i went to college. I have had a hard time dumping them even though the kids don’t want them. I think I will use them to make journals.
I just wanted to say, you can use a matte medium to seal in watercolor. The papers are great 👍
This is a lovely idea , never thought of this , look forward to playing,,,,xxxxx 💗🌷
This was wonderful to watch a second time. Needed to hear your voice! 💌🙏🙏🙏
Thank you Evelyn 💗
17:15 omg I didn't expect that happens.. I must say that paints are not my favorite material. I love colour pencils but I lately felt like I needed something else, to explore and find other ways to express. This is soo interesting. I'm going to do it. Thanks for sharing ❤️
I really love this video! I balk at using commercial stencils etc, because it's not MY marks.
Wow! I have an asthma inhaler and I never thought to use it as a mark maker. Thanks so much.
So pretty and useful. Thank you for all the ideas!
Great video, it was calming watching you make marks. Feeling inspired to do the same. Many thanks.
Can't wait to see how you use these papers!
Oh I do love the marks you made with the white Sharpie pen.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting 😊
I absolutely love mark making, and I have paint on my hands all the time, in fact there is some on them right now. Your collections is just grand. I thought it was brilliant when you painted up the twig and rolled it. The other day I got obsessed with the marks a feather was making and filled a whole page…also the dried seed head of an echinacea flower makes superior marks. I have to try som rocks now…. Thanks for a fun tutorial.
That's funny! The map that you used is nearby where I live. We're living nearby the Dutch and German border. We have visiting Kevelaer and Gelderen many times. I love this collage idea!
Hi Kylie, I am happy that I found your channel. You are a wonderful instructor. I never thought of mark making to create resources. I have boxes of paper divided by colour and will use some to do marks.
Love your papers Kylie 💕 xo
Love this. Wow the best remedy for perfectionism of which I suffer. Thx so much.
Thanks, Kylie. Glad I’m not the only one with pots of old paint water sitting around!
This was so much fun to watch and inspiring. I want to make a library of marks to refer to, too.
Great video Kylie!! Thanks for sharing! Wish you a nice Sunday!! 🤗🥰
After watching Ceri the Crafter, followed his link to you! Never made anything with teabags(watched that video first!) And between him and you(and a few others) I'm now hooked on everything Gelli-fied! Been looking for something different to do to get my mojo back!, (Lyn)
Lovely to watch you creating. I’m off to find some scraps!
A great idea and fun too, build up a supply ready to go! x
Such a great idea, I enjoyed watching!
Wow…lots of wonderful papers with the very cool mark making. Yes I battle perfectionism too….ugh! And when tired fall back into it like you said or when stressed/overwhelmed. Great informative inspiring video🌺
Fun video, Kylie. I'm off to find some found objects to make marks with.
Thanks Kylie. I am looking forward to seeing you use these. I am going to give this a try!
Kylie you made some really lovely pieces - this was enjoyable to watch - 🤗
Love to do mark making as I watch the television. I should go through my acrylics to find what I need to use up and get started! Thanks for the inspiration!
Wonderful. You make simple marks look so artistic.
Very freeing technique! I'm looking forward to doing this myself. WONDERFUL!
Love watching you do this!
Thanks! I enjoyed seeing the variety of marks that you made.
Thanks for sharing! What fantastic ideas for using up scraps! ❤️🤩
Reminds me of childhood times...potato printing etc! Am thinking (when grandson is a little older,he's 15 months!) that we can make marks and then create collages together. Thanks for the inspiration !
I am inspired by this. Collaging with them or binding them into a small art journal, there is a joyful expression in these small works of art.
This is a fabulous idea, and gives you plenty to play with. Tfs xo
Love watching your creating process!
What a great video and a very imaginative way to use scraps. 😊
great idea!.... you safe my 'live'.... now i know how use huge mountain of my any kind recycled paper.... marks on paper fantastic... because used other recycled material..... thanks so much, hugs, Ursa
Lots of interesting ways of making marks. I REALLY look forward to see what you will make of those. :-)

Love these! A perfect way to mindless craft! And a great way to build up a stash for future projects! Thank you for sharing, take care x
It's so fun to watch you do this, interesting mark making😊
Thanks so much 😊
What a brilliant idea. I have loads of gel prints and random papers filled with left over paint. I can transform them into usable collage hidden by simply making marks on them. Absolutely brilliant 🤯
I just love to watch you. Great job
It's so fun to watch you do this, does make me want to go make some now 😁😁🌼💖
Very interesting and relaxing to watch. TYFS.
You've got some really interesting pieces here, Kylie. I love the way you created these. Many thanks.
The fan brush made surpisingly lovely marks. I already have enough of a problem throwing anything away, and my house shows it. This is a great art tip, but a very bad housekeeping example for me!
Wonderful stuff going on here!!
I enjoyed this video a lot. Such a good reminder and inspiration about how simple and satisfying mark making with a little bit of paint and a few household tools can be. Having all of these collage bits ready is wonderful! Thank you!
Loved this video!! I'm so excited to start mark making! Thank you Kylie!🖤🖤🖤
I will definitely do some of this. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for the wonderful ideas. Loved it.

THANKS for the great ideas!😻
Third time watching. It is so cathartic watching you make all these interesting marks. The design created by dragging the conifer branch was one of my favorites. LOL 💌🙏
Absolutely love this video.
I absolutely love how you used and incorporated so many different papers
Enjoyed your video gets your mind thinking
What fun, I will have to try it. Thank you for sharing. I just found you and I have subscribed.
I'm trying this today!
This is a very relaxed, messing about that I might need to do...always inspirational and I come away with ideas that I can use! Thank you so much!
I know what I’m trying today 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Have fun 🤩
Kyie - this video sparks so much creative energy in me - while - at the same time - inviting me to an almost meditative creative interaction with repurposed materials. How freeing! I am a perfectionist in many areas of my life - but I came to artistic expression late in life - and - your videos - especially - help me to enter into a flow of creativity instead of focusing on end results. Thank you so much!
I loved this video Kylie, I think we can get a lot of experience by just mark making without a project in mind! I find that you allow yourself the freedom to experiment and you can end up with surprising results that you want to incorporate into your painting. You can practice just the different techniques using a pallet knife which does help tremendously. I love the idea of getting the papers ready with intension to play and put them in our flowish pile!💕🇨🇦
wonderful ideas
Just magnificent Thank You Sooo Much
I've been following your channel for a few months, and I love what you do and how you do it! I really enjoyed this video! You inspired me to grab some paper and paint and just have fun! I love having paint on my hands, love the smell of paint, and being a "recovering perfectionist" myself I really needed this! I agree with you about it having a meditative effect. Time stands still when you get lost in a creative process, doesn't it? Thank you so much for sharing and I love your collage papers!
Thank you Kylie. You are so inspiring. I am a "recovering" perfectionist making efforts to loosen up my art. This video will help!
I love these ideas and patterns esp. when you got to the pastels and the resist effects too. I cannot wait for a rainy day lol My cat just loves your music. It is too cute.❤️
Always appreciate how you are both inspiring and clear that what you're doing can be done with very few supplies ❤️
Great idea thanks for sharing
Excellent!
Kylie - I love coming back to this video to be inspired once again and to get my creative jiuices flowing! Thank you!
Thank you so much Mary 💗

Love your mark making. What a fun project. I could even get the grandkids involved. 😀
Kylie, this was wonderful! Other than gel printing I have never done anything like this before. I will now. What a way to just enjoy be in the moment and enjoy it! Completely relate about having to practice imperfection.
Beautiful mark-making!! Thanks for reminding me the pleasure of mark-making!
Hi Kylie I love all the marks you came up with! I tend to run out of ideas pretty fast. Lovely work. Hugs, Julie 🥰
Thank you! Very cool papers! A good way to get out of perfectionism☮️💟
Awesome as. Thanks 💐
I love this kind of collage fodder. You created a bunch of great pieces for your resource folder.
Just the inspiration I needed. On my way up to my craft room just now. Can’t wait to see you use these.
