  • The Hopewell M.I.N.D. Prize supports bold, high-impact research. What is high-impact research? Check out the video for more details on the connection between the gut and the brain.
Dr. Val Taylor narrates her work in exploring the connection between the gut and the brain. Her work shows that when fecal bacteria from a person living with depression, is implanted in a germ-free mouse, the mouse develops depressive symptoms. She is exploring the use of "good" bacteria transplants for the treatment of depression.

offtopic: my daughter has had mental illness for years. A doctor had her start 2 cups of raw milk per day in order to rebuild her organs. In about 2 months, the psych doctor was able to greatly reduce her medication. By 4 months, she appeared to be normal. All the problems were gone. She is not ready to go to college or hold down a job because if she does too many things in one day, she becomes incoherent and needs to go to bed, but none of those horrible things that come with mental illness. The activity tolerance is increasing. We will see how she does over the next year.
