Warning: Parkour, just like any other athletic discipline is an inherently dangerous activity if not performed correctly and practiced carefully. Training For Parkour urges you to take caution while training and not to attempt anything you are uncomfortable with. Have fun and safe training!

After a lot of videos teaching PK roll that I've came across, this video was the most effective in terms of rolling. I tried this roll, and I felt the impact evenly distributed.
+Zurc Glad you liked it!
same
@@TrainingForParkour Thanks Bro..You are Practic Working
Almost broke my arm trying to do this but it’s a great tutorial
how the fuck. xd
This is a great teaching but I can't learn this, every time I try it, I never roll straight like you do, I always curve or hurt my head/back.
It is not ment to be straight it is ment to be like that because the safety roll is to protect your spine from the impact
I have a hard time to
Same
Me too when i tried many times and i feel dizzy and my back have pain
yea same
Glad we could help! Thanks for watching!
Did my first Parkour training today on the beach
Thnks for the great tutorial :)
Can't wait until it' spring and try all these out. These are so much more enjoyable to watch than Jesse La Flair. He talks more than does. I like your style, you go straight into the business. Keep them coming!
Learning the roll is different for everyone. I have seen people who need a lot of practice to get it right, and others who got it the first couple times. As long as you are rolling across your back and don't feel extreme pressure or stress on one area of your body you are probably doing pretty good.
Last year I tried to follow another youtubers roll tutorial and I broke my elbow... Now that I recovered I decided to try your tutorial, and I can actually do it! Thank you so much!
That depends on what you find to be important.
If you find it important to be able to jump from certain heights without hurting yourself, or minimizing it, the 3 landing techniques are important.
If you find it important to get onto high places, the wall up is important.
If you find it important to get over obstacles that are harder or impossible to jump over, vaults are important. (sprinting is very important). Personally, I think it's important to know the definition of Parkour.
Wow nice tutorial ihave tried for other videos then i found yours and it helped me great keep it up
I know how to role now yay , on my wat to becoming a street ninja
Now im ready to become an assassin. .. after i learned combat
Thank you video makers!! I learned parkour roll/basic roll. This is the best "How to learn roll" video.
Appreciate it!
That is what we like to hear!
Great tutorial bro
It's very effective I watched a lot of videos but this was awesome
@Boisius if you hesitate try padded mats but grass is the more realistic thing trust me wen I say grass hurts less then cement and I had to learn that the hard way to be honest u shouldn't hesitate do exactly what he says and you'll be fine. Cheers and train safe
That depends on your pain tolerance. Assuming you have a pain tolerance similar to mine (relatively high), rolling on concrete from 6ft doesn't hurt (assuming your technique is good). Rolling from 10ft on concrete hurts a little (I'm not that strong so I avoid doing heights like that for now) but not very much. Rolling 10ft on grass is just a little uncomfortable (in moderately dense soil) and about 12ft (on concrete) hurt more than 10ft, but still not that much (I wear boots).
Sorry for the late response! This is the same roll to be used on every surface. Obviously it will feel different going from grass to concrete, but the technique is the same. Work your way from softer to harder surfaces.
When every time i tried to roll, I always end up doing a side roll. Anybody can tell me why?
It’s a side roll
you have to twist your head and arms to a bottom position this video is just a second part on how to roll this is the first
Thank you!! I learned the safety roll!!!
We like to focus on quality content and not the extra fluff :) Thanks for watching and good luck with your training!
Your tutorials are very helpful :D subbed!
You helped me VERY well. Including my sister! It worked perfectly! Thanks
Of course you can do parkour! Anyone can do parkour! Parkour is about learning to adapt to the environment with YOUR body. Start moving around, practicing some of the basic movements, and find what works best for your strengths and weaknesses :)
Very detailed and very informative! I like! Thx!!!
yes you might be able to do some pakour. the key is to believe in yourself and practise that extra harder
Best parkour teacher out there!
Your video are the best of roll basics THankS AloT!
You are the best thank you without you i wouldn't be able to do a skill roll
you are the best ,,, thank you very very very much,,,
my regards,,,,
I had trouble doing my rolls at first. My knees would touch on the ground while doing a standing roll. So I'd like to suggest you to include telling the people to push your leg while doing the roll ao it doesn't touches the ground 😊
Does anyone have any tips for the momentum part. I keep holding back.
do u have the second part of rolling tutorial? i love the way u teach these things. most thank to u :)
Bro thats a really good. Pk spot 👌
hey dude this is the most useful video ever
Glad I could help.
The video is very good. But There is a bone that bothers to make the rol. That bone it's in the side of the shoulder . How can I avoid it?
So a question i always hear u need to go to the opposite hip but when i do it it wont im landing on the side of myshoulder
When you roll the places to hit are the back, the meaty part of your shoulder blade not the tip, go across either more diagonal or sideways whatever feels right. Then not going to the hip bone but on the buttcheek and popping up to your feet in a crouch ready to push up and continue running. Places not to hit, the top of shoulder or edge...its usually bony and can break with a lot of impact. Obviously your head, you don't want to smack your elbow or clip the middle of the spine or hip bone. And avoid hitting knees and ankles coming out. Sounds like a lot but the key thing is to practice and play with it. If you need more advice i can tell you how to fix certain things you might be clipping.
thank you very much
Your right elbow will hurt right? I did it but my my right elbow hit so hard
Do it right
If you look at the video, you can see that he didnt use his elbow directly. He is using his forearm to trasition to the back.
I cant find any grass in our neighborhood do i have no choice but to practice on cement
it's hurt my head and back but I did it! thank btw
I can't even get myself round to pushing my body to roll
This seriuosly help me...Basically this is the best..
When doing this on a hard ground, my back shoulder and right hip sometimes hurt a lot, do you have any tips? Thank you, I really appreciate it!

Do u have a percision jump vid please reply
Hey my lower back hurts when I do it why is that?
Hey I have a quick question @trainingforparkour. It seems like the roll was almost second nature for me from the beginning. (I'm 15 by the way) do you think there is something wrong I'm doing that I strangely caught right onto it? I can now do it from higher surface with little to no pain.
my heart love PARKOUR ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
and im try to learn it ♥♥♥♥♥
i am landing on my leg what should i do?
Great tutorial! Keep it up! :)
Thanks you are the only one who could teach me that! lol
Whenever I do the roll, I roll from shoulder to hip, instead of shoulder to OPPOSITE hip, any tips?
Hey bro, im not exactly an authority on this whole thing but based off the video, it'd sound like you just needed to have a bit more curve in your body placement (not quite sure how to word that but im meaning how when he was on the ground, he was saying to make sure your body is curved to the side)
If you have that curve, the momentum should carry you through from opposite Shoulder to Opposite Hip :D
Though looking at your post, you've prolly figured this out in 6 months:p
im awesome at this i got it the first time but i did not do it like the guy on this vid ill run and just role into it
Hello sir, iam enosh and i have a desire of learning parkour. I am 19 years old, i think it was already late to start learning it. Iam an indian and we have no training centres here.. i have been watching your videos and they were great.. can i start learningit now
Yes everybody can!
Parkour is about getting to places with fast speed. Use everything you can found to train.
I keep trying to roll, but end up sideways on my back. Any advice to keep it stable? Absolute beginner BTW.
hey man, it helps if you try it like a forward somersault but give it a slight tilt. obviously experiment with this on mats first, but it helped me a lot to think of the PK roll that way. (i used to have your problem too)
How to roll straightly
I. e., neck is in forward moment
I done know if I am doing it really 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️🤦♂️
Once you get used to this skill, when do you know when you're ready to move to a tougher/thicker surface?
I’m 5 years late and never even perfectly roll but I assume it’s the same as the roll in the video.
どの動画よりも一番いいと思う
thankss
thx
I have the same question.
thx man !
thanx for the training dude (Y)
I'm 15 and a complete beginner when I roll my back and shoulder turns red and hurts is that supposed to happen on your first time
No
Yep
Yes but probably there is something wrong with your technique
am I suppose to use my right knee when rolling? im a righty. someone please help, thanks in advance :)
Irish Perez I'm a complete beginner but I'm pretty sure if your knee hits the ground then you're doing something wrong. Also, I realise this was four months ago: any progress?
what are most important basic movements?
For some reason it doesn't work and it really hurts my shoulder every time...
Does your head ever touch the ground when you are rolling starting on your knees? I feel like I'm doing it wrong but I just cant figure it out. :(
+Lexi Fung No. Try to make sure you tuck your chin down into the opposite armpit from which side you're rolling on. This will help to protect the head and neck during the roll. Your head shouldn't touch the ground.
Im 13 and can i start doing parkour at this age?
+Funny And Awesomeness
Yes! We teach kids at our gym as young as 3 years old
+TrainingForParkour That would be important, when bullies are too big for them that they cannot win, kids can outrun bullies when they knew parkour.
Awesome. I turned 13 about 2 months ago.
I started last September. But the younger the Parkour athlete, the better you can train your body to do parkour.
he he were same!!
I think im doing something wrong. Whenever I do this my back and shoulder hurts. Pls help
It's something you need to get used to having. I always have a bruised shoulder when I'm done parkour training. If you do the roll on cement, it will obviously hurt more. All in all, just keep doing the roll and get used to it.
You need to get used to having pain in order to not feel it.
I need help with shit I do everything he says but I'm ending in a pencil roll what I'm I doing wrong
I know this is a year later but oh well. It could most likely be your upper body and core strength. I've seen people roll completely sideways and it looks awkward. Practice core and upper body strength excersizes. Pull ups, chin ups, crunches, and other core excersizes. Hope this helps!
guys im not landing straight what am i doing wrong?
Ur fat dats y
Thanks for the tutorial man i did it lol
Thumbs up!
@trainingforparkour thanks a lot! Thanks to your videos, I feel so much more positive about myself now that I saw your videos. It's me again, the one about the roll. You said in a video to leave a video response. I was wondering if you could take a look at this quick video I made and tell me what you think, I would truly be honored! Just go to my channel its the newest video. Thanks for the great lessons.
I can't do this, my shoulders are too wide.
Dont listen to this video tutorial and no your shoulders arent too big hes just small. Body shape can play a role in technique just using what he shows won't work for you. Im assuming you have more muscle on your back and shoulders? If so thats great since im thin and occationally messing up my technique hurts like a bitch. But if you're meatier you can have room for error and it won't really hurt
He really likes to say so alot
I learnt to do it on ground in seconds
When im trying to roll i get dizzy can someone help me
Dude, that's natural when u get dizzy, just try to do it slow
might be motion sickness
I do the roll sideways
There’s more detail in this video compared to others
best
I keep landing directly on the point of my pelvis
or the point of my shoulder 😖
Ben KRUGER!!! Lol!!! Mirror's Edge ultimate irony.
Can kids do this? I'm 12 years old that's y
Yes, you can do this.
I started at 8 I'm 9 now I am a pro
