I was told by some friends about a car collection that was hidden in the mountains of Tennessee that I had to go check out. The grandpa who was a child of the Great Depression never got rid of anything that he thought he might could use again. So he ended up with a whole farm full of old cars, trucks, vans, and other old antiques. Now the grandson is having to sell them all to clean the place up and we ended up buying a few.

Just a slick trick some tow truck drivers taught me when unloading cars from their flatbed trucks ( aka rollback) use a little dish soap under the tires if they dont roll it'll slide right off your trailer and won't harm anything. I saw you struggling with a few cars on the show and forgot to pass on the tid bit of info. Hope this helps you in the future... Keep up the great content guys.

I could be totally wrong but that Cushman looks like it was a police or a meter maid-mobile. The blue & white paint and extra lights on the side and what not looks police/parking authority. In fact if you Google police Cushman you’ll see what I mean. I laughed as soon as I saw it and said to my self just wait till they move it, those things are ridiculously heavy for what they are. They called them Haulsters and Trucksters. I have one with a little dump bed on it I bought to redo someday but have yet to get around to it. Parts pretty readily available. It wouldn’t be a terrible candidate to convert to electric if it’s locked up.

andreamills5852 2years ago I was looking for a 1962 to 1968 Chevy station wagon. I just asked for two things. It needed to run and drive. I didn't care what color it was or how much rust I had to fix. And in the state that I live in there were none for sale anywhere. So I now have a restored 1967 Mercury Cougar instead, but someday I'll have my wagon.

Regarding the holes in the shock towers, Ford didn't put grease fittings on their upper control arms back then, and a lot of guys would cut holes there to access and remove the end plugs and install grease fittings. Other than removing the control arms, that was the quickest way to do it. You see a lot of old Mustangs that have been "modded" in this way. New aftermarket control arms have a 90 degree fitting installed so you can grease them when needed.

Love your channel. That snake was a ringneck. Completely harmless and it was actually full grown. They only get to be about 10 in long 12 in tops. You're actually lucky to see one. Because they're so small and they're usually hidden under leaves and brush most people never get to see one in the wild. They eat little tiny bugs. Years ago I saved one from a swimming pool. Friendly little snakes. They don't have the bite power in the jaw to break human skin or for you to even feel it if they bit you. If you ever see one again feel free to pick it up and check it out before you put it back down. Keep up the great videos. I absolutely love this one so many cars

That's a pretty early bus, '61 was the last year for those bullet style turn signals. It's crazy what they go for these days, even in that condition.

Uh oh! I gotta stay away from places like that. Every time I go someplace like that, around four or so rusty old cars and trucks follow me home. We run a no kill shelter for rusty old iron.

If we didn't learn anything else, we learned that that lady was the "Boss" of that mountain!!! Great adventure as usual! I've gone back and watched all of the videos of Wa's Beetle purchase through the car show. I'm so glad that she got her special Bug and I'm so glad that I got to experience the same thing when mine was new. Keep on making these wholesome videos for us and I can tell you that I'll be looking for new installments!

Great video!! My Mom's first car was a '62 Chevy II Nova sedan, blue w/ a white top that I still remember riding around in as a child. Loved that little car, Mom named her "Minnie Lee." My Dad's car of note was a '57 Dodge Coronet sedan, 2-tone green with the push-button transmission. Would love to find either of those now in any condition! Thanks again for sparking wonderful memories! Looking forward to you working on the Nova!!

Josh the shock towers on the Grabber are most likely torched out so they could grease the front suspension. That was common back then, Ford for some reason thought it would never need to be greased.
That Belvedere was pretty sweet. You guys scored big on that find that Cushman is really neat.

My first car back in 72, was a navy blue 63 Chevy 2 station wagon 4 door. Long story short, got it for $50 add long as I replaced the engine and transmission in my back yard. Drove it to HS for two years. Small 6 with 3 on the tree.

I collect and restore vintage room air conditioners, that doesn't appear to be in too bad of condition. I promise you that will either work perfectly, or work with little work done to it. WAY better than any of the junk made today. Whatever you do, don't let that go to the scrap pile.

I always think it`s funny when they say "it used to run". All cars used to run and most of them "ran when parked" if they had an engine in them at least.

I"m pretty sure the VW Bus is a 57. need to get a look at the rear tail lights , but i think I saw the round little ones like on my 57. I think they went to the larger taillight in 58 and no lip on the rear wheel wells in 57.
Love you guys keep on doing what you do....

Cushmans were common campus vehicles before electric golf carts became cheaper. I worked at a government base in the SF bay are 25 years ago and the motor pool had a fleet of 4 wheel cushmans, and they were so fun! The shifter for it was actually to the side of the seat, can’t remember if it was right or left but it was easy to get used to. But we would race them a bit because the base wasn’t very crowded, soooooo fun!

What a great hunt! Id love the Cushman! Ralf needs to start on it asap. In my opinion from Georgia, go back and make an offer on the GMC!!!! Just the cabs are worth more than what your gonna pay for it. Flip it and make $$ if you don't want to make it a runner (cut the frame down for sure) . Now hurry up and get us done more videos posted. Always a pleasure watching such a great family work together for a common interest.

The torch holes are so they could put grease fittings in the suspension and grease them. Ford made it where there was no way to grease these. So you had to do this to stop the creaking noises! I did this same thing with my 76 only I did a little neater job back in the day……

The "u-joint" thing thats bad on the kushman is called a WEBO or flex disc joint just like most European cars have but in a large scale. You might be able to find one but its going to take some searching. I know that some farm equipment take the same one. Might have to buy a few to figure out the right one.
