- I've never owned a code reader but it's a good idea to keep one on hand in the event of a check engine light. Considering the availability and affordability of this Walmart scan tool, I think it's a great purchase and can do more than just read and clear codes, including showing live data, and some basic resets. I like being cordless and being able to use my own smartphone over having an entire separate device to have to hook up to the vehicle.

For anyone needing to do TPMS relearns, remote programming, or more in-depth diagnostic work you will need a bi-directional scan tool. I decided to get one to be able to perform these tasks on my own and decided this model from XTOOL is the best value for the money. *XTOOL D8BT Unboxing, Setup, Walkthrough, & First Impressions* ua-cam.com/video/OtYv6zac5xY/v-deo.html
That product is made by innova and rebranded as hyper tough for Walmart. I work in the claims department and when the hyper tough scanners get returned I have to ship them back to the supplier and the supplier is innova
Have you tried the dongle with any apps aside from the one on the box?
I have the HT300 . The tool works fine . Not a lot of luck with the app.
Can use the torque app also
Well this tell you which tpms sensor bad?? And will it reset or reprogramming ?? Also do you have to pay to use the app?
App is free
Theres a tpms section but I haven’t tried it, i do need to though
My HT500 OS reading timing from 9 degrees up to 52 degrees 😢
Does this work to reset(re calibrate) the "sas" steering wheel angle sensor? I put in a new clock spring and need to reset it.
Can this tool provide O2 sensor live voltage readings?
Anyone know how this compares to the HT200? I heard good things about that one, but it doesn’t seem to be available anymore.
Is this scan tool free ? Can this scan tool scan for battery voltage ? Can this scan for bad sensor ?Can it Fuel Pressure Test ? Can it test Spark Plugs ?.
The tool itself is $50-ish and doesnt require a subscription to use it. It does tell you battery voltage. You can test your battery and alternator. It scans for all sensor issues and codes (except transmission codes) and it tells you most of your temps and perimeters such as throttle position and afr. You cant really “test spark plugs” so
@@Omgkhii How do you do a live Misfires Compression test ? Does this device detect a live Misfire if one of your Cylinder is not working? Can you make a video for us all to see ? Guide us all ?
Nice! Thanks for the video man! I’m going to drain and fill my transmission on my 4Runner. I have to have the transmission fluid at a specific temperature when checking. Looks like this tool does the job. For $50, looks like a bargain
Did this work for you? I need to do the same and my current scan tool doesn't read trans temp. Looking for something that actually works and doesn't cost over 100
Hey I'ma need you 9 months later review man
This is exactly what I need to do for my Subaru lol, I have found my people!
Maybe I've missed it in this video and every other one with the HT500 including general web search, but does anyone know what the bluetooth name is? When trying to pair with this device I don't know what to look for. I went to manufacture website and they just said look for something with model number...which duh, right, but no it doesn't show up. I've tried in multiple vehicles just in case one of the DLC recievers is bad, and still nothing. Just trying to determine if I am doing something wrong or do I take this back to walmart and exchange for a different one. What BT name do you guys see when pairing?
is it similar to Zurich or blcktec 430?
Does this device ever give you a location?
Does it read air bag codes?
Will this do ABS services?
Will this work with turning off the emergency parking brake for a break change?
I don't think so. You will need a bi-directional scan tool.
Does this actually work for live trans temp?
Yes
Everything I've ever bought from hyper tough so far has worked as well. Funny story My airbag light came on & the dealer charged me $230 to inspect all airbags & I swear all he did was reset the light it hasn't came back on yet 😂. my code scanner wouldnt do it & i panicked worried about the airbag going off randomly paid the $230. Now I got this for $50 SMH never again what a damn ripoff
I agree. My Hyper Tough and Hart tools seem as good if not better than any of the Harbor Freight or hardware store tool brands out there. My few Snap-On tools hardly get used.
Does this read transmission codes?
It reads trans temp i personally couldn’t get trans codes
What is the name of the app?
@@jrr1814 RepairSol2
Doesn’t work on Mitsubishi
Is this ble?
They want to much personal info.
Can this do ECM ? Or scan for Fuel Pressure .? How about spark plugs compression test ?
Is this a Bidirectional Scanner ?
Can this be used on several cars or is it a one car tool?
Several
Where u live I wanna live where u live😭
Does it flush brake lines ?
No, that needs to be done manually with 2 people or a brake bleeder pump.
Does anybody realize this dongle stuff could be hacked externally into your phone and corrupt your cpu system in your car and render it breaking down all the time, just like dealerships are doing.
@@KrazyBear918get that mean meat out your mouth lil bro😂
It is true that dongle connections are inherently less secure. However, the amount of resources needed to do what you are saying, wouldn't even be available for most coutries. Let alone most car manufacturers.
Feel free to prove me wrong though! I've not infallible
I highly doubt that
Your stupid it uses a Bluetooth connection not wifi which Bluetooth 5.0 is secure I dont know any device that can capture a 5ghz frequency
Who makes money from that though? Walmart😂
What is tha app name
RepairSolutions2 published by Innova Electronics Corporation.
No other app will run on this scanner
