  • Rear bag setup on a 1964 Galaxie using an air over leaf setup. I originally purchased a Ridetech kit but I was not aware of all of the options and bought too light of a kit and also one for springs beside the frame. There is also a kit for spring under frame. The Galaxie requires something in between, but the under frame kit appears more easily modified to this application. I am now using airmaxxx springs from www.airslamit.com.

This would be similar to the Ridetech kit listed here:

I'll try to do a final video once everything is back together. Still sorting a few things out but it seems to work well.

The question I have is, can you daily drive a car with this set up? Especially over the highway at 70mph speeds

That is the eventual goal, so there should be video documenting affirmative or what it takes to get there when the time comes.

The issue with air over leaf is you take a lot of leaf's out which allows axle wrap. Eventually your leafs will break. I am looking into adding an anti axle wrap link to mine.

Hoping to have it on the road soon. I have some things to address but spring field work has all but stopped the hobby work. haha.

@@ssmonte8738 Are the leaf springs on your galaxy 2.5” or 2”? And did you have to specify how wide they were when you purchased the kit? Thanks man. Appreciate it.
