Pt. 1 - Air Ride On A Ford F100 Front Install - Front I-Beam Suspension

- Hey UA-cam, here in this video I go over how I installed the Famous Dominator Air Ride Bags on my Ford F-100. This one done on the I-Beam suspension which is not a common set-up with the F-100's. Most will add air bags when they do a Crown Vic front suspension swap. Here I show you it can be done with minor modifications and within budget too.
Below is where you can find each part I used or tool to install this set-up. Click the link and will take you over to Amazon for you to check out. If you have Prime, shipping is free.
If you want to donate, smash the Big Thanks button and decide how much you want to donate to Operation RV. All donations goes right back into the channel. Thanks for your support.

Quick question, why not remove the lower spring perch and set the bag mount directly on the beam?
@@thekeeks282 I could have done that and got 1/4-1/2 lower but wanted the perch to provide more flat support to the bracket.

How’s it ride? How’s the body roll? Do you have a sway bar? Looking to do something like this on my 78. I saw a kit on line but I can also fabricate my own. Would love to know how it’s holding up for you.
It’s rides great! The nice thing about having bags is that you have choices in ride smoothness. You air them out and it gets soft, air them up and gets a stiff ride. The shocks do help them evening out so getting a good set of those would be necessary. I don’t have a sway bar but would help in some degree. When Ford designed the I-beam suspension, it’s one of the best in its time for decades on a lot of their trucks/cars. In all reality, you get to keep the iconic I-beam but then you get to modify your comfort plus ride height.
Check my UA-cam Store:

Did you shorten the mounts only to maintain your desired ride height? Thinking of doing this on my '79 but have no desire to lower it, so I'm wondering if the set works with an otherwise OEM config
I shortened the bottom mount due to correcting the camber. Using the 4" bracket out of the box would create camber too tall and wheels angled inwards. I shortened them to 2" so the camber, regardless of ride height, would be an even plane a ride height.

Do the tire lean in when you are aired down?
Yes, the Camber leans inside when aired all the way down. When I lower it enough for my 33” tires to tuck the wheel well it rides perfect.
