This song exemplifies the relationship you have with your subscribers. Many like myself are Senior Citizen Rock & Roll Veterans who have heard it all since the late 50’s. We know all the greatest what we now call “Classic Rock”… You are a young man growing up on Hip-Hop/Rap discovering the music we grew up with. The entire process is very interesting and enjoyable for us and you seem to really enjoy (with a great smile) the journey you are taking through the unknown forest of R&R, while we leave “Bread Crumbs” for you to follow. Every Kinda People sums it up perfectly.
@AliasMark69 you are wise beyond your years my friend. This particular song would not be in my plethora of Classic Rock, but I forget how many thousands of other songs we heard before narrowing down our own personal lists. Also, I can def see how this would appeal to JM who grew up with Hip Hop/Rap, which I listened to those genres very rarely. Your true wisdom shows in your sentence "...really enjoy the journey ... through the unknown forest of R&R while we leave bread crumbs for you to follow". We all have to take our own bites of the apple.
Well, I'm nearly 70 years old and have heard it all. JM is the guy who is wiser beyond his years of 24. and he's learning more with each reaction tune he does.@@dabassmann
👍for your appreciation of Robert Palmer's musical stylings, I feel the same way about him and am so glad that he left us the evidence of how cool, hip, and smooth life can be if we learn to celebrate each other✌
Beautiful song, well delivered by a great singer - that said, this is a rerecording from later in his career, and if you check out the original you might like it even more. His voice was more supple in the 70s.
"Every Kinda People" Said the fight to make ends meet Keeps a man up on his feet Holding down his job Trying to show he can't be bought Ooh, it takes every kinda people To make what life's about, yeah Every kinda people To make the world go 'round Someone's looking for a lead In his duty to a king or to a creed Protecting what he feels is right Fights against wrong with his life There's no profit in deceit Honest men know that Revenge does not taste sweet Whether yellow, black, or white Each and every man's the same inside Ooh, it takes every kinda people To make what life's about, yeah It takes every kinda people To make the world go 'round Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo D-doo, doo, doo, doo, dum, dum, dum, ooh-ooh You know that love's the only goal That could bring a peace to any soul, ooh Hey, and every man's the same He wants the sunshine in his name Ooh, it takes every kinda people To make what life's about, yeah It takes every kinda people To make the world go 'round Mmm, every kinda people To make what life's about

LOVE this song; I think this is his best by far; smooth R&B Jazzy Yacht Rock feel. This version is not his original; probably 2 decades after the first and has more beats mixed in, but still great! Never liked his monster hit, "Addicted to Love", lol.
He was the coolest guy alive at the time. Gone way too soon.
Sure was on both
Yes he was 🤘❤️
Robert Palmer - "I Didn't Mean To Turn You On"
Still love and miss Robert such a beautiful talent.
He's the James Bond of rock and roll. No one ever outclassed this gentleman.
That dude had the coolest singing voice. No matter what he sounded cool singing anything.

You need to watch the live version of it back in the 1970's. The baseline is chef's kiss.
J you should definitely hear Robert's cover of a Dylan song - "I'll be your baby tonight". I promise, you'll love it.
YES... That song is great
Love that you love him. Definition of smooth, smoove even.
"Every Kinda People"
Said the fight to make ends meet
Keeps a man up on his feet
Holding down his job
Trying to show he can't be bought
Ooh, it takes every kinda people
To make what life's about, yeah
Every kinda people
To make the world go 'round
Someone's looking for a lead
In his duty to a king or to a creed
Protecting what he feels is right
Fights against wrong with his life
There's no profit in deceit
Honest men know that
Revenge does not taste sweet
Whether yellow, black, or white
Each and every man's the same inside
Ooh, it takes every kinda people
To make what life's about, yeah
It takes every kinda people
To make the world go 'round
Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo
D-doo, doo, doo, doo, dum, dum, dum, ooh-ooh
You know that love's the only goal
That could bring a peace to any soul, ooh
Hey, and every man's the same
He wants the sunshine in his name
Ooh, it takes every kinda people
To make what life's about, yeah
It takes every kinda people
To make the world go 'round
Mmm, every kinda people
To make what life's about
Just so good ❤

"Working Class Hero"... Your fist Lennon tune. I knew you'd like it as much as I do. You have a special appreciation for the great ones, it shows.

Sadly though the inferior rerelease awful mix original is miles better
