Great breakdown. I wish these tournaments were filmed so we could see the games. You asked about what content we’re interested in. I will watch anything LI related you put up! Thank you!

Yo! Blood Angels drop pods here! You're correct, I got mixed up on the army builder but I was able to rectify it and have it match the squads correctly. That event was excellent and I've been to a good few local tournies since, developing my list. My L was to the winner of the event; I conceded after turn 1 because, frankly, I had nothing left! There's definitely a schism between competitive players about how far to push the cheese lists as no one I've spoken to who have played against The AlphaFists build have said they enjoyed it, but it's entirely legal and it shows that not all chapters were created equally in the rules. Both those factions are grim alone, together is a pretty negative play experience. My local group (verging on 20 local players) have some house rules to deal with the more egregious rules issues and try to treat it as a more "historical" game where building a powerful list is fine, but we self police anyone being a bit too cheesy.

Interesting to hear. I've been chatting with one of buddies about this and we've come to a similar conclusion that the game can be cheesed but it's better to treat it like a historical wargame and just have fun with it!

A word on "expensive" : I cannot recall in my 45+ years with Citadel / GW that they were anytime cheap. There were " comparably" cheaper armies then others. But in comparison to, say Mantic, Perry, and the likes, Citadel/GW was always top of the line. And as a hobby, GW games were and are among the most expensive especially considering that all the great minis, the great quality prints become worthless 8ften after a few years due to major changes in the rules, the units profiles or both. So everyone starting with GW games should be clear about that these products typically have a shorter lifespan then, say Kings of War, Bolt Action or most other rulesets and related minis ( see Epic 40k, WHFB, AoS and several 40k editions ). Now with that out of the way, you can buy almost every standard LI Box at online shops ( who often maintain reallive game shops as well ) for anywhere between 32 and 35 EUR instead of 40. The large starter boxsets are available for around 130 instead of 155 EUR. These are all prices from official GW retailers. So this alone saves you at least 100 EUR on a 2k Army...leaving some moneys for terrain, gamemat, paints...😊...have fun with LI as it lasts..I' ll certainly do and write off the 600 EUR I'll spend...

If I may... Everyone knows you go 3rd party, unless something is unavailable, but discounts and numbers are region/shop dependent, so it makes sense to refer to RRP in UA-cam videos/discussion.
I also have to disagree on the 'expense' aspect - the prices in the 'modern era' are astronomical, relative to when I, for example, bought the original adeptus titanicus, Man O' War, Ork & Squat Warlords, Blood Bowl, etc with my pocket money, while at primary school. I also had a spell back in 6th/7th and had no qualms forking out for Battleforces and Combat Patrols, which today, would be on par with the 'much lauded', recently de-availablised GSC box (yes, the situation is worth inventing a word for). Until production volumes increase, they seem content knowing that, of all the wider audience now interested in the products, there will always be (at least) just enough who can afford to pay a chunk more, before folding, to sell the limited supply available and keep investors happy.

Pioneer companies and Alpha Legion / Raven Guard...
Since infiltration is crazyly strong, it is not amazing to see them. Kinda sad for the balance and the fun :/

Keep those lists fluffy and fun until you need to break out the big guns at a competitive event. Forewarned is forearmed!

@@optimalgamestateI warned my friend group about how good infiltrate was, we're all recently started (they've had about half a dozen games) and I wanted to nerf the infiltrate on my army but they didn't think it's too bad.
Watching a few games it was obvious how good missile marines were, particularly when garrisoned) so imperial fists taking them and giving them accurate when on FF also looks very good. I don't want to paint yellow though :)

Infiltrated Tarantalas and Dreadnaughts are crazy efficient. 68 points for 8 skyfire batteries and you can infiltrate them into a building. This makes a 25" no-go circle in the middle of the board. You are guaranteed to out trade a player who brought fliers by doing that. Dreadnaughts are too slow to get into the game at 5" a turn. Unless they start 4" away, in which case they are mathematically the best shooting and combat unit in the game.

You absolutely cannot infiltrate anything into buildings that are not 100% inside your deployment zone. So no, you can’t do this in the middle of your board.

Might not be able to deploy them in the structure but as long as you deploy them in base contact with a building at the end of the first turn they can garrison it at the end of their movement phase activation
