Metallica has some of the best ballads to introduce to someone to the rock scene without freaking them out with the imagery or the over the top riffs and lyrics.
Have you considered the Unforgiven trilogy?

Love watching her reactions to some classics. My daughter is now in her thirties and she recently reminded me of when I gave her a couple of cassettes on her birthday at maybe 7 or 8 yrs old, and to this day she loves Billy Joel (The Stranger) and all of the Beatles but especially Rubber Soul from that cassette. And yes some of her friends thought she was a little weird in her teens but she did not care. So you just don't know what will take hold and follow her through her musical life's journey.
AND More of The Warning reactions from both your daughter and son... You need to do one with your son... They are attractive young ladies and Pau is his age....

Studio-Version would be so different....there would be also a string section to hear, which is not part of live concerts. Only the version of the "S&M" [Symphony & MetallicA] -- live concerts which were played with the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra would sound like the studio-version.

    Facts about this song:
    1. "Nothing Else Matters", as well as the other songs from them self-titled album (also known as The Black Album) have the long building-up intros, like "Enter Sandman" or "The Unforgiven".
    2. All guitar parts for the album version were recording by only lead vocalist James Hetfield.
    3. On the original one, you have: James Hetfield, Jason Newsted, Lars Ulrich, and the live orchestra directed by Michael Kamen.

Great to expose current generation to what is in many opinions the greatest metal band of all time. Although this version had kirks solo unrelated to the song and some non studio versions added to the live performance again in my opinion should be appreciated after the studio version. This way you can see the difference and how creative Metallica is live. I’ve been to 19 concerts in my life time and I have never seen a band live that literally sounds like one voice singing every song on the set list. No one ever sits down when Metallica is on stage. Thanks for the video I was curious how new gens would receive such a classic song and band. Keep the Metallica push. |,,|

And she ALWAYS reminds me to start playing our playlist ☺. I say "our playlist" because I sent my wife the playlist a couple of weeks ago when I was at work, and she was trying to get her to take a nap and wanted to know what songs I play for her, and as soon as it started playing, my little girl started going "No, no, no, no, no!", lol. She's 3 now, but I've been playing if for her since before she was a year old. It's the first song she fell asleep listening to with me.

Try some 'new-time' metal: Devin Townsend Project Ft. Anneke Van Giersbergen: 'Hyperdrive', 'Numbered', 'Awake' (from 'By a Thread') or the amazing song 'Grace' (from 'Retinal Circus'), all great live versions!

I just stumbled on this channel and I like it but why so many live versions? I love live music but if there’s a song Someone’s never heard before, it’s got to be the actual song that was recorded
