Pumas are not known to attack people. We are currently producing a video about the Puma Tracking Experience, we'll be pleased to share it with you once it's online!
+EcoCamp Patagonia what about riding alone on horseback? Will pumas then want to follow or jump? I saw the claws and they can jump four road lanes without touching. Just wondering if i ride myself in wilderness in Argentina for hours if its safe? Are there other potential " predators" to worry about? What about snakes? Or fire ants? I'm looking at www.ranquilco.com
Pumas would not attack the horse in this situation. They tipically attack weak lonely horses, or baby horses. They do not attack people riding alone - it never happened here.
I didn't know that there were wild horses originally from Chile or America in general, I always thought they had been brought by the spanish conquistadors.. nice video
Hola Sergio - Actually these horses have been brought by conquistadores and came back to the wild about 60 years ago. They are not native, but the population is stable and allows scientists to have a unique understanding of the animals' behaviour as a herd.

10 000 years ago there were horses from Alaska to Patagonia. In a way humans reintroduced a native species long lost ago.
