Oh, yes!!!! I think Timon and Pumbaa adopted Simba - but that doesn't mean that the three of them can still be friends as well as father figures. Honestly, these two are the best thing that ever happened to Simba. =D

I can see how people might say Timon and Pumbaa adopted Simba. They did help raise him to adulthood. But like you Isaac I just see them as close friends. Thanks for doing this video and showing the duo still help down on their luck babies. Beautiful.

Since Simba lived with Timon and Pumbaa for most of his childhood, I can see where people could argue that they did adopt him as their own. However, since Simba's ran away and his mother didn't abandon him or anything, I think that they actually served as his friends and guardians to watch over him while he was in hiding. Since this was through his childhood, however, they did raise him.
Of Course They Adopted Simba. They Took Him In When He Was A Cub,Raised Him On Hakuna Matata And Bugs And Shaped His Personality As A Adult.

I'd say they're more like surrogate uncles to Simba,and Kiara as well. Eventhough it annoyed her that Timon and Pumbaa follwed her around Kiara still loved them which is cute. Kiara is an adorable character,and actually my fave out of the lion king characters(well except for her lion gaurd persona).

Well yes, Timon and Pumbaa had more connection with Simba than with Kiara, but she still liked them anyway and appreciated them for being close friends of her father, and also funny
I feel that Timon and Pumbaa adopted Simba. I mean they did technicaly rais him for most of his life. And heres how I know. When Simba meets Timon and Pumbaa, hes just a cub. And Scar even mentions that Simba "bareley had gotten to live" when he tells the pride that both Simba and Moofasah are dead. So we can assume that Simba was only a few months old when he ran away. A lion is fully grown at three years old. When Simba goes back to Pride Rock, he is a fully grown lion, meaning that he has spent two years and 8 months living with Timon and Pumbaa. Timon and Pumbaa tought simba everything he needed to survive, based on what they knew. Therefore, They did raise Simba, and addopted him.
It can be since Pumbaa and Timon raised Simba from a cub to an adult lion. Going by the lifespan of a lion Simba was maybe a couple of months old when he was presented since lion cubs are usually protected by their mothers. I referenced the deleted scene of when Sarabi growled at Rafiki. Simba was around 5 months- 9 months when Mufasa and roughly 2-3 years have past before Simba must returned to the throne. 4 years is usually when female lions are able to reproduce. So from there, the two bug eaters spent about 2-3 years raising Simba, long enough to consider the two like parents. The Lion King 1/2 had them act more parent like despite them stating they are best friends till the end. So...I guess when SImba became old enough, he was more of buddies than an actual son.

I think they live in Hakuna Mattata Falls (the jungle) but will come to Simbas aid when asked, and are a big part of the Pridelands.

Well, in The Lion King 1/2, Timon narrates as they take Simba in that the 2 of them now faced their most difficult task ever: parenthood.
So, I'd say, yeah, they did adopt Simba. Plus, I think Simba even calls Timon papa in a playful tone before they have a Slug Slurping contest

Timon did say in lion king 1 1/2 that once they rescued Simba the hardest part came parenthood
Don’t forget at the end of 1 & 1/2, Simba is shown playing in the waterfall pool in the jungle oasis, too. That indicates “Meerkat Manor” is close enough to Pride Rock so they can visit each other.
As for the question of Timon and Pumba adopting Simba, that is confirmed by Timon himself when he says, “Then came the scariest thing of all--parenthood!” And while Simba is a cub and teenager, Timon calls him “Junior” and “Sonny Boy”. But once he realizes “our little Simba is growing up”, the relationship changes to that of friendship so that they don’t lose that friendship. After all, nobody wants to be told what to do by their parents forever, no matter how much they love them.
Yes, I also see that both places are somewhat close, maybe Simba only accompanied them for a moment to take the meerkat tribe to the paradise jungle, but Timon and Pumbaa did end up staying in Pridelands with him in the end.
And it's cute how Timon called "Junior", kid and "Sonny boy" to Simba, and it moves me when he says "our Simba is growing up", he was a before and after in their lives, right? Sure they still wanted him to stay little, but they still loved him both as an adopted son and as a friend.
I do feel that adopted simba because there are moments where they act like a proper family

Honestly, yes. I do see Timon and Pumba as Simba's abopted parents. They found him as a cub, raised him. Hell, in The Lion King 1 1/2, Timon even said mentioned parenthood when they took in Simba.

The movie makes does not make it clear that they adopt Simba in any way, the closest thing Timon says anything similar to that is when he talks to Simba about eating bugs like him and Pumbaa do. I have almost the same version as you do! After Scar's death Timon and Pumbaa go back to their jungle with Timon's family (like in The Lion King 1 1/5). The realistic episodes from the Timon and Pumbaa tv series happen, and after that they go back to Pride Rock for the birth of Simba's first child Kopa (he count him as canon). When Kopa is a cub the things happen from in the books etc and Kiara and Kion are born. After Kopa's 'death' The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride events begin to happen (expect the beginning). Kiara is watched almost all the time by Timon and Pumbaa (since they also don't really have to do xD) and has a pretty close conection with Kion. When Kiara keeps getting away from Timon and Pumbaa, Simba decides it's time to start Kiara's training (the everything the light touches and all that stuff). Timon and Pumbaa have deciced to live in "Hakuna Matata Falls" (said in The Lion Guard). Around that time they find Bunga. Kiara gets new friends (Zuri and Tiffu) due not having the freedom of seeing Kovu (in my headcanon they meet more then once). Then all The Lion Guard events take place.

Ya see, I always saw it as them taking in Simba as one of their own and adopting him as their honorary son.
I think of Timon and Pumba like cool uncles that adopted Simba. They're not replacement fathers to him, but if we were to put it in human terms they'd be legal guardians.
Yes they raised Simba into adulthood and showed him the less stressful side of life he might not have known otherwise.

I very much enjoined Timon and Pumbaa's series, but it is not canon (although you are right. Some of them feel like they could be.). I drove myself crazy trying to figure out how it fit in Lion King canon until Lion King 1 1/2 came along and disavowed it.
Timon and Pumbaa did take Simba in. I'd say they "raised" him as friend/brother even though Timon and Pumbaa did refer to Simba (and Bunga) as their baby. I'd say their relationship with Simba is one of Friends not parents.

You see, Timon and Pumba raised Simba ever since he was like a little cub. Although he did live in the pride lands before that, he was raised most of his life by Timon and Pumba. Thus, it feels to me that they raised him

I considered Timon and Pumbaa as Simba's adoptive parents myself. Even when Simba grew up, they still had the vibe of parents supporting their kid but also now being a best friend.

I feel like Timon and Pumbaa fostered Simba as parental figures, more so than adopted him. Simba never references them as the ones who raised him, but he does acknowledge them as large influences and important figures in his life just from the way he interacts with them and others. Even in 1 1/2, their dynamic is more like that that of having a "mom friend" and a "dad friend" rather than actual parents.

I always thought that Simba looked up to Timon and Pumbaa as surrogate father figures after his trauma of losing his father and near death. In Lion King 1 1/2, we get a better glimpse of them actually parenting Simba, and Simba even calls Timon "Pops".

Yes, I think Timon and Pumbaa did adopt Simba and raised him into adulthood. At some point, they also became friends, wither early on or later in life. I feel that it is the same way with Bunga. They are raising him but they seem to be friends with him as well. We don't get to see much about their relationship with Simba during the time they are taking care of him as a cub like we do with Bunga. I know that Simba does not say one way or the other about being adopted by them, but I think the lack of words toward Bunga indicated that he did at some point see them as guardians when he was still young.

I think, in a way Simba was adopted by Timon and pumba. Because he did lose his father when he was still at a cub age. And his mother never really new if her son was still alive or not. After simba grew up, and returned, she saw that he was always alive and well. But in the end. Simba was still alive because of the meerkat and warthog friends who saved and raised him.

Some episodes of the cartoons are loosely plausible buy Lion King standards. The episode where a jackal disguised as a lemur might have accrued at some point during Simba's years with the two. Except the lemur was only working for the jackal to avoid getting eaten himself, and to get rid of timon and pumbaa who always eat from his termite mound.

Yes!! Sure they became best friends over time because Timon and Pumbaa didn't find Simba at the young age where he would become attached like Pumbaa jr. Or Bunga did but they still taught him how to survive, sheltered and fed him, and acted like your standard parents. It would make sense for them to view Simba as one of their kids.
Timon and Pumbaa are on my top 10 Disney Character list because their caring nature for young or orphans in need.

i dont think timon and pumba adopted simba. it was more like they were his guardians and teachers while he grew up with them and thus formed a close relationship.
Simba was adopted by our dynamic duo and assuming The Lion King 1 and a half is cannon, it's cannon. In The Lion King 1 1/2 Timone actually calls the relationship, having Simba around, as 'parent hood'. Directly quoting, Timone says "Rescuing Simba was a cinch. Then came the really scary part...parenthood."
I hope in the Lion Guard TV show we figure out how Kion dies because he's not in the Future timeline parts of the Lion King 2.
In the Lion King 1.5 movie, Timon and Pumba act like parents rather than only friends. So yes I think Simba is like a son to them, and that would be the reason they follow Kiara all day, she is like her granddaughter, Kion too.

Well in the Lion King 1/2 Simba dose call Timon Pops so maybe Simba felt like it was adoption but once he retuned home he faded into more of a friendship. Timon and Pumba were like parents so in a way he was adopted.
For me: Simba, Timon and Pumbaa are like family, as well as friends, so i felt it: Well they welcomed him in their home and it's very cute how they take care him with love, accompanying him in his games and that he does not get into trouble, sheltering and feeding it, helping it grow and at the same time they had fun because together their life was amazing, and it moves me how they wanted their life to have been like this forever and and that he would stay , but they understood Simba and supported him in his decision to return and save his kingdom: They also stayed with him until the end, well, just for a moment they went to take the entire colony of meerkats to the paradise of Hakuna Matata, and afterward they returned, they went to live accompanying Simba and even supported him in the battle against the foreign lions.

When Timon and Pumbaa first meet Simba the little lion cub he seems so young and defenseless. that yeah maybe they do father him a little bit in their teachings and such but by the time Simba is teenage Simba there definitely seems to be more of a friendship. A buddy thing happening. They have gone from caretakers two best friends.

Clearly Timon and Pumba adopted Simba... They had to show him how to survive in the jungle when he was too small to even hunt. He would have died without them . This also makes since considering their habit of adopting lost baby animals of other species.. repeatedly

I don't think Timon and Pumbaa adopted Simba because they don't really reference Simba as their son like they do with Pumbaa Jr. and Bunga. I think they are like friends close enough to be family. A strong friendship can be equal in love and care as family, maybe more sometimes. I think Simba would think of Timon and Pumbaa as brothers, rather than fathers. Meaning that Simba is technical uncle to Bunga. I like that idea.

i would say they adopted simba for in the lion king 1 and a half, if simba had a nightmare they let him sleep with them, timon would walk simba across the log if he had to use the restroom, if he was in danger they tried to save him, they played games with him, even taught him lessons and teenage simba did refer to timon as pops. so yeah i would say simba was adopted by timon and pumbaa

Can you do a haunted mansion theory for my 21st birthday November 30? Could Sarah be the future descendent of Elizabeth and Edward Gracy? One problem they both died. I noticed the differences because Sarah and Elizabeth look so much alike last time I saw the movie.
