Actually, if you rewatch the lion king, you’ll notice that simba defeating scar is 100% accurate. Even though simba didn’t have the tooth strength to beat scar in a battle of fangs. He didn’t have to bite scar to defeat him. Simba was losing miserably against scar. But, suddenly turned the tables by just simply kick flipping scar off the ledge. He beat scar with shear dumb luck and a lucky kick. No fangs needed at all.
As you can see, the reason how Simba defeated Scar and pushed him off the ledge is because he is physically-strong because of his daily routine of eating bugs for breakfast. Scar hasn't been paying attention to his health ever since he conquered the Pride Rock with his hyenas so the only redeeming trait of him is the fact that he possesses some sharper fangs due to age.
In addition to his bug diet: Simba doesn't have to just eat ONE type of bug/insect. A few Mopane worms, a tetmit mound or two, a Giant Worm if he finds one, maybe some random beetles.
You can take the giant worm out, since they are extremely rare. Simba would hardly have a chance of finding at least one throughout his whole life and that’s the best case scenario. Just a few beetles, some grubs, a termite mound or two, and perhaps some smaller worms would do perfectly fine.

Yeah that seems quite possible. It seems to be a natural part of lion behaviour to chew on the bones of their prey, so it’s plausible that simba would fulfill this behaviour by supplementing bones with branches.
Not so fun fact: in the lion guard there is a song on how scar got his scar basically another lion outside of the pride promised him power and respect if he worked with him since he was the leader of the lion guard at the time so the strange lion brought him to the volcano where a snake who was working with the stranger bit scars eye and the strange lion promised to heal the venom if scar did what he asked of course scar used the roar to destroy The Lion and the snake he thought doing this would make everyone give him respect but his brother just made it a joke and so scar got mad
Not to mention the joke eventually replaced his real name. Even once he became king no one called him by his original name. And then there's also the fact that he went slowly insane from the venom, so no one bothered to heal him and everyone continually blamed him for the loss of the roar. Oddly enough though Disney still didn't reveal his name prior to the incident but if it really was "Taka", which is Swahili for "trash" btw, then "Scar" would have been a huge step up.

I’ve been watching sooo many of matpats older videos. Something I have to say about this one, simba wasn’t just eating a single type of bug. He was eating any bug that Timon and pumba found for him, he wasn’t picky about the type of bug he was eating so quantity was never actually an issue. Also about the tooth thing, he could’ve chewed on sticks or something to keep his teeth strong. Kind of like dogs do.
You know how rabbits sometimes chew on deer antlers to get their calcium? Would Simba be able to find some bones lying around to chew on those to keep his teeth strong?
He could. Also termite mounds are literal fortresses. Very few animals, like aardvarks, are actually adapted to breaking into those rock-hard mounds. The rest of the termite eaters usually follow them around or eat the ones on the ground. If Simba has any chance of breaking into those mounds his teeth and claws would have to be strong.
1. Simba wasn't eating as much as a full grown Lion for probably 80% of the time he was away, as he was still growing. 2. He didn't need to use his teeth in the final battle against Scar anyway, so he would've been just fine

@@InkWaxstudios100 Yes in The Lion Guard Mufasa was the one who called Scar “Scar”. And Scar’s real name is “Taka” with means “Trash” is Swahili. His parents their second son (Scar) literal Trash and their First Son a cool name “Mufasa”. So Scar’s Parents gave him a bad name. And then his brother gave him a nickname that annoyed him. We don’t know if Scar liked the name “Taka” but let’s be honest, Who would like a name that means Trash!? I don’t think Scar actually hated his brother before Mufasa nicknamed him Scar. They might have been good brothers actually. Scar might have wanted to amaze his brother by killing the evil lion and his snake and saving them. But instead when Mufasa just laughed and nicknamed him Scar. That’s when Scar became Scar and Hated his brother. So this whole thing could’ve been avoided if Scar and Mufasa’s Parents just gave Scar a cool name and if Mufasa didn’t nickname him Scar But what’s the fun in that? But then we wouldn’t have these movies

ACTUALLY, Scar's original name was Taka, which translates to dirt or trash. When he tried to get Mufasa in trouble with a water buffalo named Boma, it backfired and he ended up getting his scar. From then on, HE asked to be called "Scar."
Would Simba be able to naw on the many types of wood we see in the movie in order to keep his jaw and strength sharpened? I don’t know the typical strength of African anthills, or tree density, but it seems like he might be able to make up for that lack in hunting in other ways... But hey, that’s just a theory. A *FAN THEORY* ! XD
13:52 if you look at the battle between simba and scar (or even the fight between nala and simba), simba never bites scar/nala, he only uses his claws not his teeth
Yeah I like this point... I also think it worth mentioning that even though his teeth probably wouldn't be as strong as other lions, Simba could have sort of maintained his jaw and teeth strength by gnawing on sticks, and maybe even bones he found lying around, without actually eating meat

Here's another question. Excluding the sequels and spin offs(honestly just because I haven't seen them) do we even know when the lion king was supposed to take place? Modern lions could have emerged as long as five hundred thousand years ago. Possibly bugs and the giant earthworm could have been more plentiful. Along with other teeth sharpening methods, as far as a cartoon goes anyways, it could have been possible. Just pondering.
There isn't really any mention of a time period official. It could be any year within the last 3,000 years (give or take a century). Actually, that would be a good topic for some channel that does theories about films. 😉
Baby matpat: * gets thrown off of cliff * Adult matpat: your next Me: oh look, a new disney theory Me: i Am A l1oN Matpat: did u do it in five seconds? me: i paused the video
Animals that feed off from termites use claws to dig into the mounds, not their teeth. However Lions don’t typically eat solely bugs anyways so since this is a theory I suppose he could try breaking it with his teeth
Still, Scar run and hunts for his food. The most exercise Simba gets is digging through the ground and mounds to get bugs. He'll be greatly overpowered by Scar, who is a powerful lion who sharpens his teeth and runs everyday because he had no chance or need to do that in the jungle.
Termite mounds can actually be very tough, so I honestly would believe that with all the digging that he’s been doing, the sharpness of his claws would make up for his lack of jaw strength
You know many species have learned to chew on rocks to maintain their teeth such as rats. It is perfectly possible that simba was taught to maintain his teeth and could then use rocks to help maintain his teeth for the years of exile.
There's also the fact, that in the movie they mostly paw and claw eachother, where Scar, is the only one biting in their 1v1! Noteably is that simba does use his teeth why against the hyenas, but there's he has help of the pride and should be able to pull it through, even with worse teeth(as we see he can even leave the fight and chase Scar). Just my observations :)
Lol I’m a lion because my school mascot is a lion Oh also, couldn’t Simba just chew on bark/bones that he found while out and about looking for termites
Mine is a black panther...to be honest in my books,we are not the best football team...we use to be...but we not that great anymore...and Im not in football but that's my opinion
i was born and lived in africa for 20 years i can tell that the giant worms are not really that rare, it depend of which part of the contiment tho but leaving in ivory coast where the weather was humid we could see a lot of them when its rainning
I AM not A LION (my success rate is closer to 10%) On another note, considering Simba never used his mouth in the last fight (Scar did all the biting), instead using his paws & leg muscles, I don't think his jaw power after an all bug diet would affect the battle.
Lillian Finegold-Sachs i was thinking the exact same thing. Even domestic cats like the chew and claw on things, so its likely simba just gnawed on branches and the mounds to break them open.
You are walking through the jungle. You hear crunches on the branches behind you. You snap around. There, in front of you in the vast, dense jungle is one of the most famous big cats of the savannah.. The lion. You weigh your options, flee or stay. You stay. The lion growls and pounces. it lands on a large cluster of bugs 🕷 🐛 beside you. It then notices you and runs off into the distance. You live to tell the tale.

Actually in the lion guard Mufasa called him Scar. Next level Douchbaggery
So this whole thing could’ve been avoided if Scar and Mufasa’s Parents just gave Scar a cool name and if Mufasa didn’t nickname him Scar
But what’s the fun in that?
But then we wouldn’t have these movies

his name was Taka which does translate to trash in swahili

@@CooperCBaldwin Eww.. Those mounds are just hardens saliva?!
I am fairly certain this video alone led to that one scene in the 2019 Lion King where Simba cracks open a termite mound
ACTUALLY, Scar's original name was Taka, which translates to dirt or trash. When he tried to get Mufasa in trouble with a water buffalo named Boma, it backfired and he ended up getting his scar. From then on, HE asked to be called "Scar."
The Nerf-Lete He is still called trash though. Ooof

Well now we know who his parents liked more
Wait no we always knew that since Mufasa became king instead of Scar
no wonder why he's evil. his parents were like youre trash
Would Simba be able to naw on the many types of wood we see in the movie in order to keep his jaw and strength sharpened? I don’t know the typical strength of African anthills, or tree density, but it seems like he might be able to make up for that lack in hunting in other ways...

Not the point but still good point
I was going to comment that
True

It’s somewhere in Africa, it’s revealed in the new lion king adaptation.
There isn't really any mention of a time period official. It could be any year within the last 3,000 years (give or take a century).
Actually, that would be a good topic for some channel that does theories about films. 😉

@Alekxander Hellmold but that ruins the point of the first comment, his teeth wouldnt get strengthened by using his feet
Animals that feed off from termites use claws to dig into the mounds, not their teeth.
However Lions don’t typically eat solely bugs anyways so since this is a theory I suppose he could try breaking it with his teeth

@@tnytu3sday924 sticks aren't nearly as durable as bones. The sticks will break and do nothing.
Still, Scar run and hunts for his food. The most exercise Simba gets is digging through the ground and mounds to get bugs. He'll be greatly overpowered by Scar, who is a powerful lion who sharpens his teeth and runs everyday because he had no chance or need to do that in the jungle.
Omg Matpat killed himself in the beginning.

Becky A nice spot
I really thought the lion was about to poop that time...
lol I did. thank you, that was funny
Catpat will be in my nightmares
As the hero, right?
Crazy how in the live action they actually showed simba eating termites and the mopane worm.

in the live action Lion King, you actually see Simba toppling what looks to be a termite mound.
Also, in Lion King 2, I'm pretty sure Zira destroys a couple of those in the beginning of the movie.
That was after this theory
@@pretzelcat581 Was Disney listening or did Jon Favreau did his research?????
I AM not A LION (my success rate is closer to 10%)
On another note, considering Simba never used his mouth in the last fight (Scar did all the biting), instead using his paws & leg muscles, I don't think his jaw power after an all bug diet would affect the battle.
Easy solution to lack of teeth strength: chewing on termite mounds and, if not strong enough, also teething on branches and rocks.
Lillian Finegold-Sachs i was thinking the exact same thing. Even domestic cats like the chew and claw on things, so its likely simba just gnawed on branches and the mounds to break them open.
