Looking to get a skink for my daughter. She’s 9 years old. We’re in between the fire skink or peters band. What is the difference between the two ? Thanks
Hello, Peters love sandy/loose substrate, they like warm temperatures and they prefer a semi arid semi dry environment and they are primarily insectivorous. Fires like humidity, they can tolerate cooler temperatures and they eat a wide variety of foods. I personally prefer the fires because they are red, they like cooler temps and I like they way they " smile", but I know many people who love their Peters as they can also be housed in colonies. Thank you for watching :)
l like your videos, please make another animal video especially indonesian varanus, because there are many kinds of varanus in indonesia..good job. thank's
hi, you can maybe feed it tomorrow or the day after when the animal is comfortable in its new environment. as for heat mat I don't know about that I do not use any, I use above tank lights. thank you for watching
Thank You so much for this video! I've got mine like 1 month and to be honest-I've done his/shes enclosure almost like Your's. This is an amazing animal, after one month he/she (dont really know) starts to look at me whenever I work near my desk. I can handle his/her with no problem. I wish I could know how can I recognize the gender...cuz I want one more. :D
They are amazing little creatures for sure :) One of mine laid infertile eggs this year but hopefully I'll get good eggs next year lol. Thank you for watching.
221B REPTILES no i did not know how she was I knew she was 17 inches "full grown female" but I made the mistake buying from a pet store I think she was 3 or so
Great video! Love these little skinks. Glad to see you with another video! Can’t wait for more.
Thanks, these little skinks are so much fun! Want an other video? I'll be back! lol
I really enjoy all of your videos. They're informative, casual, entertaining, and have great music.
Thank you so much for watching, and mostly thank you for listening :)
Great stuff, and very nice setup!
Thanks, I like this vivarium , it is "natural but not really" lol
My fire skink "hibernates" during the winter and I almost never see him, He made his first apperance in march.
Haha mine do that as well during the winter. Thanks for watching.
Great video! Love it
Thanks for the great info!
I love this video. One of the most infirmative ones ive found. Ive been registered blind for nearly 3 years. My original babies are now parents!
They are amazing creatures, mine a two females so no babies from them. But who knows, may get a male for them one day...
@@221breptiles3 ive got 12 banies that are now nearlly 2 months old. Just found another 5 eggs. Im quite happy right now.
Very nice! you must be soooooo happy! I found one egg in my terrarium the other day but didn't find any bubs, yet ;)
@@221breptiles3 that may be a dummy run. They need to be at lesst 3 years old before they can produce fertile eggs going off my own experience.
I had one, I also have uploaded some episodes on it.
Did it die?
