There’s something so wholesome about a giant, intelligent animal with all that raw power but just eats plants and really doesn’t really want any conflict at all. I love gorillas.
The humans had no firearms So they knew at least one was for sure going down and none of them wanted to be that one and the more that left the less likely they'd beat the Gorilla Humans don't really press their strength in numbers advantage if they have it, they're really easily intimidated
It's extremely impressive that the surf shark sponsorship section genuinely seemed like it ended about five times during it because the transition into each feature of it was so smooth and somehow tied in with gorillas, well done!
Loving the more detailed life of animals with connecting story points, like the poking dad, farming wheat, and even the fellow alpha brother reunion. Feels like a good story with a connected world
The intimidation scene is completely out of this world, who wouldn't run?? For all their strength they're very restrained, probably more than us lol. Another awesome video, thanks for your hard work!
A lot of animals can rationalize getting actual injuries just makes foraging/hunting more difficult, so if they can opt out they will. Doesn't mean they dont beat each other up pretty good and sometimes overreach...
I love how James’ style brings out that, apparently after millions of years, we humans and gorillas still aren’t that different after all. Still sleep with our parents as kids for protection and acceptance. Still train physically and socially with siblings. Still leave the comfort of home and work to support a family once we mature. Similar familial roles. Hits close man.
@CrestedSaguaro520 It's actually a good thing because unlike our gorilla cousins, our species is severely overpopulated. Thus, the less humans reproducing, the better.
@_paz_888 what a stupid misconception. WE DIDNT EVOLVE FROM CHIMPS! We have a common ancestor with chimps!! (And also gorillas, but chimps are closer)
All these videos made me realise that almost every creature have same growth: They being born Being a child Being aware that sibling/parents can eat you You learn throughout the life Leaving Parents making them proud Finding female Having a baby Growing a baby Cycle continues to next generations You get eaten by others/dies

Man a ton of respect to you for the great research. In case somebody missed it, 9:45 is a reference to a scientific study of gorillas using tools, being one of the most amazing spottings the use of a stick by a female gorilla to check if she was about to throw in a shallow or deep river. KUDOS.
As a gorilla you must learn additional skills such as: - Luggage testing - Barrel throwing - Climbing very high buildings - Occasionally fight large atomic breathed lizards.
Learning that silverbacks have memories reaching back 26 yrs makes 12:24 feel more melancholy. Wonder how many Gorilla's, in their own way of course, had those thoughts when they enter their final years
I was looking at your older videos. They did halfway decent. As soon as you're doing these animated animal videos your views skyrocketed. Me and my wife can't stop watching the orangutan when it's so funny.
these are just so intersting to watch and learn all about the animals, i knew gorillas were plenty smart but i didn't know they were that smart, truly an amazing channel
Thank you for making those videos! Very informative and fun to watch Would love a "live as an owl" thing. Their anatomy is funky, they are hated by every other bird, they will eat figuratively everything smaller than them. Even that is a stretch. And boi... a screeching owl is nightmare fuel.
Just discovered your channel out of nowhere yesterday and watched through your content. Earned that subscriber with that wonderful dry humor and cadence. You are doing a great job.
As a gorilla there’s an extremely low chance that your mum (or another member of your troop) adopts baby that belongs to a just as rare species of bald ape
Fun Fact: in the original book, they’re not gorillas They’re a fictional species of ape known as the “Mangani” They’re rumored to be related to the Almasty of Himalayan folklore
Rare nothing, humans make up 34% of all mammalian biomass on the planet. Livestock make up 62%, and all wild mammals put together make up only 4%. The vast majority of living primates pay taxes, and that's not an exaggeration.
Go to surfshark.com/jamestoland for 4 extra months of Surfshark.
Next do A L L I G A T O R plz.
Good job, I actually watched the entire sponser segment.

Same, they make me happy lol. They just out there living their best life
Humans are like Chimps
Gorillas are god’s chosen primates. Truly the Chads of the Great Apes, not like the virgin human and chimpanzee species.
Strong enough to be gentle
They can be dangerous it's just people don't stick around them enough to make them react that way but cool animal

Not only are the videos fun, but you even went the extra mile to make the sponsor fun. Really appreciate you and your channel man
The only youtuber that actually manages to make ads fun
My sentiments exactly
I never realized gorillas relied so heavily on VPNs.😂 Such a smooth and hilarious way to integrate the sponsor.
Agreed. One of the very few ads I'd never want to skip.
Dad needs a break. Main Mom, take the family to visit the cousins. You'll have fun in the mountains.
RIP baby gorilla with glasses. Gone but never forgotten.
9:52 the shrek reference is crazy
"Get out of my swamp you gorilla's!!!" -Shrek (definitely a movie quote)

i love that the gorrila used a stick to see how deep the water is, because recently it was seen that a female gorrila did the same
This was surprisingly very peaceful.
Is that why the zoo wifi always sucks? The gorillas are hogging all the bandwidth.
They're watching Gorilla's gone wild
Can you please do "Life as a human"? I genuinely don't know how those things live
Funny implementation of the ad during the video, I really found it funny. Thanks for your work! Keep'em coming.
I dont know why this videos humour is comforting. As a brit it must be the 120% of non stop sarcasm that just makes this so funny.

Bro the shrek bit was so good
No one does this genre of animal videos quite like you.
Even if those copycats out there try, this is the best channel
There's a really good copycat channel called Dinzo, with slightly better animation
Normally I skip the sponsors but he sneaked it in the story, witch made it pretty entertaining
The shrek recreation was just **chefs kiss**
The way he makes sponsored ads not wanted to be skipped is perfect and I like it
The bit about finally understanding why ‘Dad is always grumpy’ or why ‘Dad is always sleeping’ goes HARD after having your own kids. 😂
Definitely the most peaceful/none-violent life so far.

Just some corrections: Gorillas get weaned between the ages of 3 and 4. A 4 year old gorilla still sleeps with mum sometimes.
