Thank you both very much for all your hard mahi. I see that you will both help to spearhead this further. My understanding in speaking with many women is that they know nothing about what the NZ Midwifery is doing. Or for that matter what the world is allowing to happen. I can't for the life of me understand why we are changing our language to accomodate a few peope out of millions

It's all very cloak and dagger, Trish. Our mainstream media is reluctant to report on anything that may put dodgy-woke practices in an unflattering light, so for that reason you are absolutely correct that many women do not know what is being done to our language and hard-won rights and single-sex spaces.

Thank you, Katrina and thank you, Michelle. This is dangerous ideology.

Excellent Katrina and Michelle.. everytime I listen to Michelle I learn a bit more about Maori culture and that is in part due to how Michelle delivers her information, that is factually, without that censorious tone of 'white people bad'.
What is also apparent is how the Treaty hs being used as a Trojan horse to implement the insertion of gender ideology particularly as most of us don't know what's in it and rely on and trust the the Treaty academics to inform us. It's not just the erasure of women that is the target, by erasing women you erase the family and that is the aim of queer theory ideology. Awesome, both of you ❤

You are so right - but it's not just Queer Theory that the Treaty is being violated to accommodate - it's the tripartite core of this whole thing. Diversity (Racism via Critical Race Theory) Inclusion (Homophobia via Queer Theory) and Kindness (Cruelty via Social Justice Theory). Imo.

Please know that that is only one person's perception.
Prior to the bible coming to Aotearoa - we had fluidity with our genders - I am surprised how people are so anti - or threatened by the uniqueness of people.
Maybe your guest needs to learns more about her people, cause she is talking a very colonised kōrero - and I would love to see Michelle sit with Treaty and Whakaputanga experts, it is clear her she is cherry picking terms and parts of the treaty.
But we have many māori who need pākehā validation like Michelle - and does Michelle speak for all those 130 Iwi. But she is trying to speak for māori cancelling the kōrero. Michelle you arent everyones rangatira and dont speak for Iwi - especially living in Australia - hika!

@@dale-mareemorgan2895 lol you reprimanded Michelle about speaking for all maori yet you do the same.
'Prior to the Bible coming to Aotearoa WE had fluidity with our genders'.
As Michelle has pointed out before 'if so where are the stories, the waiata etc.

Thank you both for this informative session. This scope of practice is another very obvious attempt to erase women and the sacredness of their blood mysteries.

Thank you from a very concerned Pakeha kiwi midwife. The rhetoric from some Maori midwives is that due to European colonisation, traditional Maori practices were lost. Particularly the inclusion of tane who were their midwives. Im fighting the thought that this is about men not women. I would be interested in what you have to say about this too.

Kia ora Ann. So, every hapū is different and for me, that is a significant point. Most expect that we (Māori) are all the same and that is not the case.
It would depend on which hapū those Māori midwives are from and who they are actually talking about - because not all hapū allowed tāne anywhere near the birthing process. Again, it depends on the individual hapū and that is something they (hapū) would need to speak on.
Unlike the likes of Kerekere et al. we at Mana Wāhine Kōrero encourage broader discussion with all iwi and all hapū - as is our tradition.
      Ngā mihi (thank you).

WHERE are the mens clubs after all the whining about them from women,????????

Ngā mihi (thank you) for having me Katrina. I am now painfully aware of where my child gets her signature eyeroll from LOL but am incredibly glad she uses it almost exclusively for the same reasons that I do.
I implore everyone to stand up and speak out against this affront, this appropriation of women, of Mothers and of Midwifery - which I believe is - the world's oldest profession, because the consequences of this loss will be monumental not just for us but for the generations after us *and for the generations not yet born.* Kia ora.
