I had a strange experience as a child & to this day cannot explain it. I'm 60 now & live in Australia but as a child lived in England. My favourite place to go was an old church graveyard. I'd spend all day reading tombstones looking at statues. I would see some that had lots of flowers on (I called them rich graves) & some with no flowers on (I called them poor graves). I used to share out the flowers & give the poor graves some (I was only about 6 or 7yrs old). I also used to collect daisies buttercups & clover for the graves. When my cat got run over by a car we buried him in our garden & made a little headstone for him. One morning really early I woke up to tapping on my bedroom window which overlooked the garden & when I looked out my cats grave was covered in flowers. (not growing flowers but picked & placed ones). I was completely delighted It was a cold morning so I rubbed the inside of the window to see better & there were tiny handprints on the outside of my window. I wanted to tell my mum but everyone was still asleep in the house. I went down to the garden everything was wet & sparkly from frost. My cats grave was just to the side of the only big tree in the garden a pear tree & I could see the flowers all over it but they were not wet like the grass. As I got closer what I think was a butterfly landed on the little headstone then flew away. But now that I'm old & grey I think it would have been too cold for a butterfly!!
Thank you for commenting. That’s very sweet. We see and experience so much more as kids before we are told that ‘it’s nonsense’ but many of us still view the world as a magical place which it very much is.
As children we are open to life's miracle's and delight ourselves in the magic, until we hear nonsense, don't be foolish, Oh be quiet. Beautiful story Thankyou love from Australia
Many years ago when I was 18 I was still living with my parents having failed to get into university I took on a very physically demanding job and inevitably seriously damaged my back spending weeks and months bedridden. One late evening whilst in bed in particular pain I saw a light under my curtain, I thought a car had pulled up outside but somehow I managed the strength to open the curtains , there on the garden was a beam of light roughly in the shape of a human figure maybe five or four foot tall , weirdly all I did was return to my bed , fell asleep and in the morning I awoke and my back was miraculously considerably better not totally healed but within a week or so I was back to my old self. I told ppl of this experience at the time and met just ridicule and to this day I have suppressed the telling of this story.
I know your story to be true , I myself have and still are having many, people ridicule because they can’t believe what they have not experienced,, it’s just not their time,,
It’s very common to go back to sleep after these kind of encounters as counterintuitive as it sounds, so much so, it’s often a defining factor of many paranormal encounters. Thanks for sharing ❤
...and how Delightful that the Professor makes himself available to sit for a relaxed, wry chat about faeries --as he sits in a fire-side chair with a blanket tucked around his legs...
Indeed so. And what a learned gentleman and the lady as well. Perhaps unusually, as I have a small degree of skepticism toward the reports concerning the very young people, since these encounters can lend credence to those who would claim them as mere impressions and childhood fantasies or daydreams; my personal experiences, which were rather intense and fairly obvious manifestations, even to the point of appearing as myself to others, including my mother, doors slamming, the sudden sight of hundreds of toadstools for a few years, and turning my books from old fairy folklorists backwards on a long shelf I used there, but this took place off and on at my aunt's house (who couldn't read and we lived alone there), in my 20's, back in the 1980's. These series of events I resolutely will never forget.
When I was a child I was playing in the grass outside the Chapel, and saw a little man about a foot high and dressed in green, running through the grass. I ran after him, wanting to say hello, but as I got near to him he suddenly turned into a big black stag beetle. I'm 72 now, and to this day I swear blind that I definitely saw him saw him for real 🧚♂️
I wasn't much more than a toddler. Us kids were waiting in the car, in front of a store, for my parents to come back. I was in the back seat, standing up to the window, When I saw this couple come out of the store. Dressed in modern suits, hers was a light blue jacket and skirt, and he in a dark suit? She was my focus. An older couple. They couldn't have been any taller than 15 inches. Perfectly proportioned. I don't know if I ever told anyone. They wouldn't have believed me anyway. I remember it almost clear as day. It has been over 65 years. It was all so vivid.
Maybe the receptionist was the faery lass... Was there the slightest chance that this was a simple echo of your own footsteps, the changing terrain, shrouded in fog, might have briefly provided a sonically reflective surface ? Irish ale can be potent. Or , yes, it could have been a similarly terrified human. One thing is for sure, it wasn't a fairy. Nice story, if drily told
@@Peter-sk5vg And why not? Perhaps she knew him, read his energy, realized that this was not the sort of man she was looking for -- for whatever fairy purpose -- and allowed him to continue on his way. You are missing so much magick in your life with those dismissive words.
I was sitting on my mother's old chair in my bedroom in a small flat/unit I had moved in to a few month's before. This is in Australia. All of a sudden I had a vision of a very small older woman sitting in an equally small rocking chair that was rocking. Some days later I had another vision of a herd of miniature horses in full gallop. Another time a few days later I saw a litter of miniature cats. All in that one room. Years later on a walk to the shops a bike rider I recognised from a week before came hurtling down the footpath towards me He said "Oh no not you again!". I turned to him now a distance away to yell at him 🤣 when from the corner of my right eye a pretty little lady with golden wavy hair wearing a floral dress told me "keep going don't look back" and she was gone.
As a young teenager I went on a school trip to the Island of Eigg and saw something that I've never shared with anybody even today. However, a few years later an old lady one day spoke to me in the voice that sounded like a twelve-year-old and descried what I saw and told me about what they will do if I get harmed and she told me about everything that will occur in my life and it has. I have no idea why me, I’ve been blessed with extreme luck, fortune and I’m able to see future outcomes. Sounds crazy, but true.
I was going through a bad time ( long story). I became aware of a person sitting beside me in my car. But the 'person' was so blindingly bright I couldn't look. A voice said , 'why are you so worried , you are only in this life a short time . I am with you.' A great peace came over me. Afterwards everything changed for me for the better. I was to find out this appearance was on the other side of a high wall that sheltered an old catholic church where I hadn't attended since a youth. A friend of mine , an atheist , said I was having the beginning of a breakdown. But I was to discover that many people in different parts of the world. have had the same experience . Why would a similar experience be experienced all over the world in different cultures and people if it was a breakdown ? ( which I never had.) I was an academic social scientist which dismissed all metaphysical phenomenon.
Not a breakdown, but a mental phenomenon occurring in trying times or dangerous situations. Look up "third man factor". Some say it's connected to an ancient state of mind, the "bicameral mentality". That means when your brain's right hemisphere (house of the unconscious) thinks it's time to chime in/take the lead because you're in trouble, it can communicate with you via hallucinations. It literally saved lives multiple times.
As a child in southernmost Illinois, I lived with my family in the country, and behind our tiny home was a pond. When Mother was busy in the house and Dad was at work, I ran out to the pond (I was about 6 or 7 years of age) and for some reason, I set my teddy bear on the shore and it got wet. I was sad and then I felt I was being watched. I remember looking over at a large tree that stood right by the pond and down by its roots stood a little man. He was probably about 7 or 8 inches tall. He had on earth-colored clothing with a slouchy hat. I noticed that he was very old and had rather greyish-colored skin. He had piercing grey eyes and he looked right at me and we stared at each other for a bit. The fairy or elf or whatever then turned on his heels away from me and vanished. I did not feel threatened in any way but I was in awe. I am 73 years of age now and I have never forgotten it. I feel that I was granted a blessing in seeing this tiny creature.
That’s absolutely beautiful thank you so much for sharing. Its quite amazing, so many of these experiences involve eye to eye contact. They say the eyes are the window to the soul. It’s as if through the eyes, these two realms meet. Perhaps you connected deeply with him in that moment, whoever he was. Maybe spirit of place? Genius Loci. Another woman saw a man very much like mine in the same location. I can’t imagine a more British video which is real and not a scene in a play! I didn’t know that an encounter like the one these two people are having, even existed. How charmingly British! I just love it!
I was staying in rural County Clare and daily walking in the local wood. A magical place with woodland flowers in bloom. I spoke to the nture spirits, telling them I came in peace from England and was walking gently through their wood. Next morning in that place between sleep and waking I saw a person dressed in a brown, quilted outfit with a smiling, healthy face, curly light brown hair and pointed ears. I just felt they had connected with me in the woodland and were greeting me kindly. I cant think my mind concocted this, as I would not have imagined a fairy dressed in brown quilted clothing!!
I absolutely love watching these videos of UK people telling of their encounters with the little folk. I love their accent and traditional way of thinking ❤, beautiful. I once saw a little person in the woods, i was caught by surprise and so was he. I was picking mushrooms in the woods in the spring and moving the leaves with my foot to find the mushrooms on the forest floor. I felt a heavy sort of animal that was under the leaves that i pushed with my foot. I thought it was a squirrel or something small. All of a sudden, a little man, who was on small tattered clothes, ran out of the leaves i disturbed. He was smaller than a fat squirrel and looked at me and ran!! I was so in shock i couldn't say anything, then, he went in a hole under a tree. I totally respect nature and all her inhabitants so i told him out loud that i was not here to hurt him and would never bother him and told him thank you for letting me look for mushrooms in his forest. I then left so i didn't scare him any more. I returned a few days later just out of curiosity and the place i moved the leaves with my foot and discovered the little person, there was a few flowers that were picked laying there in a pile. I knew i had made a friend ❤. Respect nature and she will respect you❤.
I was driving in Eliot Maine, USA, back in about 1989. It was a beautiful day in June and I had the windows down. The sky was clear blue, and I did not have the radio on. I was alone and driving slowly on an on ramp to a bridge which would take me to the state of NH. I had noticed, the week before that some person had stuck a sign in the ground which read FOR SALE HERSEY, so I assumed someone was selling their piece of land. On this particular day, standing beside this relatively new sign was a little man. He had his teeth clenched and his lips pulled back, enough so that his clenched teeth were obvious to me. He had his fists clenched also, and he was jumping up and down. What made it unquestionable to me that this little man was not a human short person, was that he had his knees bent, and they never unbent as our knees are won`t to do when we jump. I had no question about why he was so incensed. As quick as a wink I yelled out the window of my car `Don`t worry, the land won`t sell, the economy sucks`. And with that I had rounded the turn up to the bridge and was gone. I have thought often about this encounter, and have to my own satisfaction, decided that the only reason I saw him at all is that his emotion, his anger made him somehow, visible. I also believe my yelling out the window, beyond giving him information, also surprised him greatly, for I believe that he did not believe he could be seen by human people. My intention, seeing his distress was to relieve him of the burden he had just discovered in his heart. How he was able to read English I know not. I truly believe we share this planet with others who are kinder to this blessed earth than we. I am sure that I did nothing that day to have made myself an enemy of any sort, because other beings judge us by our intentions. Thank you for this platform.
That's a very interesting share. Thank you. This 'bearing of the teeth' is something that comes up occasionally. Have a listen to this episode on the audio version: www.scarlettofthefae.com/episode-24-wretched-rider-in-the-thorn/ Also I'd love to talk to you about your experience some time. If you ever want to write to me it's scarlettofthefae@gmail.com
I do think for that moment you yourself were open to the gift of Sight, assuring the bared teeth man from a place you did not know existing (still does, if you allow) within you that the land he coddled and treasured would not fall into (ugh) "developers".
So interesting. I think they know what is happening without having to know the language and this man would know land was for sale and he was unhappy and angry about it - so your shout out to him was perfect - it probably put him at ease.
I was a motorcycle messenger back in the 80s, whizzing from one drop to the next. Not the kind of situation or location you would associate with a paranormal encounter, but odd is odd. I was going west down London Wall when I spotted a small man running off the pavement. He was about 9 inches tall and wearing a checked suit with matching wide brimmed hat and carried a cane. He looked straight at me but just kept running. I hit the brakes and slithered to a stop. The small man disappeared behind the bike's fairing but a crisp packet then emerged along the same path. (going north) It continued across the road then went vertical against the adjacent building, spinning like mad. It hovered briefly at the building's roof then shot away at speed. I don't think it was a leprechaun, but neither was it a crisp packet. I looked straight at his face.
@@themodernfairysightingspod8421 Hi, thanks for the interest. London Wall is a wide road running from Moorgate to Aldersgate Street. The only dual carriageway in central London. Part of the old wall of London can be seen at the west end. My experience was close to the Moorgate end. I've told a few people over the years but you really need personal experience of odd things to take them seriously. I remember laughing to myself. I just did an emergency stop for a leprechaun.
@@Geffo555 hahaa! Love that. I am thinking of time slips and those sorts of places that are thin...and seeing this is right alonside the original Roman wall I reckon it's possible that the encounter was associated with the energy of the place which clearly lingers strong! Would absolutely love to hear more stories from around these areas. There must be many of them.
@@themodernfairysightingspod8421 I've seen a few maps of London ley lines, but I don't think that any of them cross the location of my encounter. This little guy/entity was going north though, and with some purpose I'd say. London Wall has changed a lot since the 80s, and buildings like St Alphage House were demolished years ago. The area had been flattened in the blitz prior to the 60s development cycle and a few plague pits are nearby. Thanks for listening.
My Brother in law saw a tiny little man rummaging through his Mum's dustbin, nobody believed him except me, he is 60 now and he still talks to me about it.
My family's English/Irish, and it was my English mum who was out walking in the woods in Oxfordshire with my three sisters (before I was born), when they encountered the little people. From some bluebells underfoot flew out three perfectly formed fairies with gossamer wings. My sisters told me many times over the years of their encounter, describing their high pitched tinkling laughter as they flew away. All of this happened within a moment or two, but it left all three of them with a life long conviction in fairy life, and mum too. When they told my dad back at home, there was no hesitation in believing in their encounter. He'd grown up in Ireland with knowledge of all sorts of fairy folk encounters.
The high pitched voices are a regular feature in these reportings. Thank you so much for offering this. My Dad was from Ireland too and he certainly knew that they were real. Mostly to be feared but he had such a strong connection with nature. @@raolhooley So far as I know, no! These were little girls who were just exceptionally excited to see such an unexpected and unprecedented event. As I said I wasn’t there so can only take their words as related to me over the 70 years since they saw what they saw, so you must excuse any inexactitudes on my part. I just offered up what was related to me. Fairy blessings to you and may the road rise to meet you as they say in Ireland!
I live in Illinois in the st.louis area and in 2020 I saw something that i can only describe as a fairy. It looked in the middle bottom window on the front door at around 11:30pm on sept 15th 2020. I'll never forget that day. I wasn't the only witness to the creature that was in the room. as im trying to adjust to what i think I saw, they said the F word and they backed up what I think I saw. I still don't belive I saw what I know i saw that night. it,'s not like I can just go around telling strangers that I saw a fairy without geting admitted into ketler mental hospital. Thanks for letting me get this off my chest!
Thank you. You are not mad and you’d be surprised how many other folks have seen them. It’s a fairly regular occurrence but like you, no one talks about it! Thank you 🙏🏻
@@themodernfairysightingspod8421 I thought about bringing it up at SIU with the cryptozoology lab as to document the sighting. They aren't suposed to be real but now I believe in fairytails. Ill send you an email here shortly.
Why didn't you tell us what you saw instead of all the unimportant stuff. Saying you saw a fairy and then going into great detail about nothing else is pointless.
I was walking along a riverbank in Edinburgh when I stopped a man to ask directions. He looked slightly dazed and told me in a puzzled manner that he'd just heard a womans voice calling for help.He looked in the direction of the voice and saw a "very little woman" ( about 3 feet high) slipping down the steep bank. He grasped her outstretched hand and hauled her up. She thanked him and then disappeared! She was dressed all in black with long black hair, he said. I immediately thought of "The little people", but didn't say anything to the man as I could see the concept was outside his frame of reference.
Amazing! I wonder if it was related in any way to someone who may have died on the riverbank at some time? Interestingly, I will be speaking to a man who had a similar experience. Hope to do that in the coming weeks. Watch this space (or more specifically the audio version of the Podcast because folks tend to remain anonymous). I had an encounter of some sort years ago. I was hiking alone in a forest and came upon a little waterfall, maybe 4' high at most. The sound of the water attracted me to more closer. Staring at the water, i began to see flecks of rainbow colors in it. And then i heard a female voice talking to me. I thought for a moment i saw a face in the water. Next thing i knew, i was on the trail walking home. I had no memory of how i had gotten there. The sun was lower in the sky. I felt id lost time. It took me 8 years before i worked up the courage to go back there. It seemed an ordinary place and i never had any other experiences there.
An event of a couple of years ago (in south eastern Australia): I've wondered how I could have gotten so disoriented while on a short bushwalk on a path I knew, turns on the path just as I had made only a few days previously, yet got so lost I was wandering about the deep forest for well over an hour in an area where there was no mobile coverage and my daughter was waiting for me to emerge by the car. I am a seasoned bushwalker and know my directions, it was as if the path (or dimension!) had simply shifted while I wasn't looking. Very uncharacteristic for me, I just don't get lost. Since I was there trying to dig up samples of an unusual bracken, I idly thought my disorientation was a deliberate act by nature beings to discourage me from this "vandal" behaviour. Perhaps it really was? I never did get any of the bracken to grow for me, a dark-green-thumbed gardener. I never took such tales too seriously until I read the book by R. Ogilvie Crombie on his encounters with nature beings, and other books associated with the Findhorn Garden in Scotland. These really opened my mind.
Sounds like a beautiful place and very special experience. I've heard some quite terrifying outcomes to these sorts of encounters. Did life take a different path afterwards?
@@anitapeura3517 thank you. Yes, something similar happened to me and my husband one night in a forest that I knew very well. It's a very strange feeling, the disorientation. I'm so glad you made it to safety, especially in the Australian Bush! There are a couple of stories from Australia in the Podcast (audio version): www.scarlettofthefae.com/
@@themodernfairysightingspod8421 No, not from that one. I've had a number of spiritual experiences, visions, flashes of past lives, that were also totally unexpected, unsought. These most certainly did change my life direction and perspective! I've long thought that while I was clearly intended to be a scientist, I had to have these experiences to remind myself on a higher level that there is more to life than the material. I also have a definite association with the natural world (commented on by any medium I might visit), which I don't understand even while I recognise its deep motivating force in me. Perhaps that's why that experience came to me - I should know better! It's why the Findhorn Garden story resonated so strongly with me, and ROC's experiences. And several others from the UK. I often wish I'd been born there rather than here, but there's always good spiritual reasons why things turn out the way they do, no point in our petty human selves quibbling about it!
@@themodernfairysightingspod8421 Thanks, I'll have a listen. From the 19th century there has been a literary culture here of children especially getting lost in "the bush", inspiring a number of famous paintings and stories, newspaper articles. Usually taken as a sign of the clash of cultures and perspectives between the indigenous peoples and the colonisers. But I do now see much of this as a warning, or revolt, or a push by natural forces or beings against those who would carelessly blunder into places they are not wanted. These stories seem universal once you start looking into them, whatever continent you choose. So many ways to look at this, material or spiritual. or both. There's so much we don't yet perceive except in fragments.
When I went to Mauve's Tomb in Sligo County and saw a purple fluorite stone on the rock pile after meditating. I asked her if it was for me. I gave her all the rocks from my pocket and sang for her. I took the fluorite and meditated with it on my forehead before I slept. In the morning I wore from a long dream about my mother dying and the weeks afterward until sitting around the kitchen table with my father. In a panic I called my parents to be sure they were okay. I woke them. But I didn't tell them the dream. A week later when I went home I gave my mom a small gift from Ireland. A few days later the dream unfolded with a call from my dad that my mom had a stroke. The next weeks were the same as the dream. That is my Ireland story. There is a special energy there.
Around fifteen years ago I was out walking my dog in the urban neighbourhood where I live. It was 7:30 ish at night and late summer. As I walked past a house that had a long drive I saw something incredible and I think, suspect what I saw is what is termed, a brownie. I saw a creature that stood upright as we do, it was around 18” tall, dressed in browns and ochres in trousers, a shirt and a little jacket. This creature had the head of a toad, it walked perfectly well on two legs and seemed quite oblivious to me or my dog (the dog didn’t react at all, in fact I don’t think he could see it. I wonder if what I was seeing was in another dimension from ours - perhaps an elemental dimension. I watched it until it walked into a bank of flowers and disappeared from my view. Absolutely vivid in my mind to this day and I have no doubt that the fairy realm is real.
That is so interesting! Pls contact me if you would like to. scarlettofthefae@gmail.com It sounds remarkably like the type of being described in my interview with Kate HareGirl Rae: www.scarlettofthefae.com/interview-with-kate-hare-girl-ray/
Ronald, as an OBOD Bardic student, I have followed you for a while, and I greatly appreciate hearing of your experience. I know several people in whom I have the utmost confidence, and they have seen multiple Cherokee Little People. I saw my own member of the faerie fold many years ago in my early 20's, while canoeing down a river, and I find it sad that folks can't be open to the possibility that we are not the only two-legged sentient beings in this world. Blessings, Ronald!
Lovely podcast. I saw a fairy at the bottom of the garden when I was a child in England. My mother called me a liar. I was furious as she used to tell us about fairies and little people she saw in Ireland as she visited her grandma quiet a lot growing up. I'm old now 65 and can't remember all the stores but i can STILL see that fairy in my mind's eye so I know it was real.
So sorry, that must have been a shock to be told you’re a liar when you were probably overjoyed at seeing something so wonderful. Folks are always doing their best but its hard for them to understand and that also sounds like a fear reaction. Perhaps she did believe you after all but felt panicked. I do believe that you saw what you thought you saw and you’re certainly not alone in that.
My Dad was out jogging early in the morning many years ago by Sarehole Mill in Birmingham where Tolkein used to live and saw 3 fairies dancing in the grass. He was the very last person who would ever believe in fairies and was always quite puzzled by what he saw
I was walking my horse down a trail that leads to an old pond in the woods when l suddenly saw a very thin fairy about 18 " tall all dressed in black with a long pointed hat He appeared to be going somewhere And he just vanished
I was working in a saw mill many years ago and I saw a small crowd of little folk working with picks and hammers on top of some of the machinery. They were there for a few seconds and then disappeared.
I had an experience in Norway. Was hiking a long route through many forests. It all felt very "enchanted". One day, I entered a wood and I started to see something I initially thought was smoke or fog, I rubbed my eyes. Then I started feeling very, very sleepy and I had the idea that I should just lay down and go to sleep. I had the sense that I should speak to the beings there, the forest and give my gratitude for passage through. I kept walking with all my will in full force to do so. When I reached the other side, my hiking partner asked me, hadn't I heard her yelling for me. Nope. Then she said she'd had the same experience.

Beware of “electronic fog”. If you encounter it you’ll likely know it. It’s said to distort time and space, and you may not come out in your own space and time.
I was about 6 or 7 years old and I was a little sad and missing my mom ( she was an unfit mother but that's another story). I was looking out my bedroom window and had fallen into a trance and out of nowhere I started to see speckles of color to my right. I turned my head to see what was going on and before I knew it there was a fairy parade that I was all of a sudden in the middle of. I was amazed and eventually I began to dance and skip with them. IDK how long this went on but i enjoyed every minute of it 😂
how wonderful I used to see silver speckles dancing at my right, but never saw fairies, if I tried to focus on the sparkles they would vanish, but I used to feel elated
I’ve been reading through hundreds of fairy encounters, and more than a few mention being children who are feeling sad and unloved…in that moment fairies appear to them in various forms and comfort them with dancing or kind words. How nice 😊 I had an unfit mother too. Sorry you went through that. It’s hard.
@@GreeneyedApe Thank you Mr Ape, I think it was in one of the Cork newspapers, I was reading the translation in Irish Gaelic, and it's possible it may not have been accurate or have stretched the truth. He was mentioning the Kerry faeries, the perception of the Kerry faeries in Cork, has been known to be shrouded in controversy. He mentions the quiet and brooding mists of Kerry and these mists have often given rise to mistaken sightings, especially by people wending their ways back from the locals of an evening.
I was surprised to read Fairies: Real Encounters with the Little People. Reports from around the world of sightings. Also there's The Cherokee Little People are Real.
My ex-husband and son are Lakota (Native American). We Americans don't have fairy culture, but the Lakota have little people, as do a lot of other tribal nations in the US. My ex and I had little people in our house.
I have heard from others in the US that they had seen little people in their house. They were small, black and hairy and caused quite a bit of trouble. They'd emerge from underneath beds and were terrifying in some instances. Were yours similar sounding? Happy for you to write to me at scarlettofthefae@gmail.com if you wish to

Have had several encounters on Springbok mountain when I lived there. They were in my yard so beautiful. Saw an amazing gathering of them under twin falls one night … sparkling different colours and music and tinkling noises and laughter . I’ll never forget it. I was with my partner and we sat in awe for what seemed like hours. Also had a young girl who would come to visit to see the fairy’s in my garden. I still work with them and and their magic to this day with great reverence. They are wonderful allies 😊🙏❤️🧚♀️ Springbrook mountain is behind the Gold Coast in Australia a beautiful hinterland ❤️
It is amazing, it turns out that not only the Yowies live in Springbrook. I’d love to take my kids soon and see if magic happens. We live an hour away from there!
So lovely to find your channel. When I was about 5 or 6 years old I lived in a village by the sea in NZ .. I was free to walk around..usually with my dolls in a pram ☺ I used to visit a partucular garden which belonged to a couple of older women and I would play in their garden and then we would have tea and I would tell them all about the fairies who inhabited their garden. They loved to hear about them.. and once they gave me a gift of a lacy handkerchief and a small framed photo of Margot Fonteyn. I kept thiese for many years..When I was about 7 my father told me to stop talking about the fairies and also my 'imaginary friend' ( who was a star being) I miss these connections..but feel with the changes in the energies I will be reconnected once more.and be able to see them all again... I am 57 now 😊 Thank you for your work 💗
I am remembering the Margot Fonteyn reference.. I would dance whenever I felt the fae energy. The last time I recall doing this was at Kailzie Gardens in Scotland ☺
I am so sorry you were told to close down these personal connections with the Otherworld. it's hard for some to understand and I'm sure your father was acting out of love for you. But the main thing is you can always resurrect that sense of connection and no one can ever remove your personal experience from you. Hold on to that. And yes, the energies are most certainly changing in recent years. Have you ever read Seeing Faires by Marjorie T Johnson? I would recommend you buy that book which is full of personal encounters. Many of them childhood encounters. I'm happy for you to write to me at scarlettofthefaeATgmailDOTcom and here are many more episodes in audio form: www.scarlettofthefae.com/
@@themodernfairysightingspod8421 Thank you so much! I sometimes feel that talk of fairies and 'imaginary friends' elicits a 'mmmmm..' kind of response ☺ My father pretty much made this announcement.. I think because my brother was playing with matches and almost started a fire. My sister also used to have chats with a spirit called Mrs Banks .. and according to her ( she is 6 years older than me and recalls more of my friend) my imaginary friend used to conjure up things which made it feel like there was a poltergeist in the house..so I can see why my father announced a blanket 'No more! ' Although..as you say this does tend to shut things down rather a lot. I have Irish heritage too on my mothers side..a mix of Orkney and Cornwall on my father's so ... my father was also rather fey in his way. Anyway..thank you. I have ordered the book. Love your work 💗☘
You mention Margot Fonteyn. When I was sixteen and working as a waitress.she was having lunch and being served by the head waiter. Afterwards I came upand shyly asked for her autograph. The gentlle sweet kindness she showed me has never been forgotten.
@@Allan_aka_RocKITEman I shouldn't express my opinion if it's negative unless the person is a bad person.. He doesn't really deserve that. But, yeah, really. I deleted a different one and it was brutal. I will work on the good old, "If you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all" teaching as far as this guy goes. Fair enough.
I first came upon "The Green man in a church in Dorchester ,Oxfordshire and this must have had a powerful effect on the extant church to amalgamate his image in the church. The spiritual side you talk on has a real history compared to ufology which I think is actually nothing to do with aliens but a spiritual demonology, also the female presence in the folklore has a powerful prescence as compared to organised religion which is more of a masculine power. There is, or I get a sense of a powerful sensual female power and to tell the truth if I came under that spell I would go for it 100%.Btw I came into this when doing a bit of amateur medieval sleuthing were I came across the Green man and also signs of the zodiac around 2Doors of a church in Iffley in Oxford also ,so Christianity also must find these symbols and beliefs powerful also.
I'm in Australia Blue Mountains and have also had an experience. My house is very close to bushland but the garden is full of introduced plants/flowers and is very well established. The previous owner left little statuettes of faeries dotted about the place and we used to have a big pine tree growing in the yard that come autumn fly agaric mushrooms would pop up (definitely not native and no I was not consuming them when I had this encounter!) So for me the garden was already a very magical and enchanting place, but one full moon night I was sitting outside - I think I was having a cigarette (I used to smoke but not anymore) or I could have just been moon bathing (I do sometimes). Anyway I was sitting in a pool of moonlight and at one stage I looked down to my left and there was a pair of tiny bare feet! They looked like human feet but small say about 10cm and rather chunky not dainty. They were frozen at the edge of the pool of light realising that they had been spotted. The owner of the feet was still in shadow and after a prolonged moment they retreated. As my eyes scanned the shadows for them I heard a sound to the right of me - they couldn't have gone behind me because I had my back against the wall so must have gone in front of me undetected in the shadows, but I could distinctly hear tiny scampering on the rails of my balcony! I said in the direction I heard the sound "I am so pleased to have met you and know that you are real but I am also terrified right now so I'm going to go back inside now." I had to walk past where I had heard the sound. I was terrified - I'm not sure what to make of it but am pretty sure I didn't imagine it. I wonder whether the previous owner had seen them too hence the faery statuettes in the garden.
wonderful! Some say that the statues give them a place to manifest from as they embody the beings somewhat in this material realm. That's interesting idea. I have heard of others who experience various encounters up in the Blue Mountains. I visited there briefly once and would love to go back someday. A sacred place indeed. Sounds like you may be able to enjoy some communion with these beings in your garden. Thanks for commenting.
@@themodernfairysightingspod8421 Yes there is a lot of faery energy in the Blue Mountains some places just exude it. It has inspired artists and writers like May GIbbs to create her characters the Gumnut Babies, but I never thought that actually encountering a small humanoid like being would ever be a possibility! I have always been comfortable with experiencing faery energy as being elemental. I do ccall energetically on the fae for guidance particularly in creative projects but I prefer working telepathically because then it can somehow still be in the realm of my imagination - encountering a pair of feet just made it more real than I had bargained for! But I think you may have planted a seed there maintaining contact with these beings. The idea of them being able to manifest through the statues is certainly an interesting idea - I do collage and include a lot of pics of statues particularly of Goddesses . Thanks for your reply - hope you get to come back to the mountains someday 🧚♂
@@violettaray3847 Thank you! Yes I rarely share that story for fear of not being believed and making it up. I have always believed in faeries too and the idea of them existing in a realm close to ours but unseen makes the idea of them somewhat more comfortable than to the reality of encountering them -a bit like seeing a ghost for the first time - unsettling, terrifying and challenging to your perception of reality!
Trust your instincs...they are real and folklore says to be very wary. They do mark their presence by scratching noises or tapping. ..or odours. Pray to Yeshua for protection....they are entities more powerful than humans. Do not dabble as i did.
When me and my husband about a year before we married. We saw a fairie fly across the road in front of us. It was golden and sparkly we both saw it. Even little human like legs. I'm very honored we are absolutely believers as we saw it first hand ❤ this was in Loudon New Hampshire in summer of 2004.
A definite honour. They don't seem to reveal themselves to all that many people and I feel they choose the ones who are already open to knowing they exist.
This reminded me of walking along a farm track in Wales, between two fields, with fences both sides, such that a stray sheep in front of me was getting progressively further from where it should have been. Then I saw a young man in the field to my left, who walked onto the track, blocking it, inducing the sheep to bolt back behind me. I turned to watch it for what seemed like only a few seconds, but when I turned back, there was no sign of the man. I'm from a scientific background, but this has stuck with me for more than 40 years!
That's great. Thank you. Perhaps you really tuned into the landscape and maybe that person was so connected to the landscape that a part of him stayed there in some way when he left this realm. Or perhaps you encountered a time slip. Did the sounds or vision (colours) change?
@@davidhowe6905 I'm also a scientist, but as such, have to acknowledge the experiences I and others in my family have had, and try to fit them into my view of the universe. My mother (as only 1 such incidence among many) once saw a Victorian-era ghost lady in the house, a perfectly real, "normal" person but absurd in the circumstances, just as you saw this man. It was in a modern house in the outer suburbs of Melbourne, in what would have been natural bush in Victorian times. Both were as astonished as each other, and the lady disappeared. My mother could describe her appearance and clothing to the smallest detail, she was as real as anything else, yet not of "here".
delusions and dreams even waking are very common - that is what you had - you merely think you saw all this - thats my hypothesis. so if you were a scientist what would be your hypothesis?
Alternatively, it may have been a very real human stalker, following all the way from the pub, in the dark. Somebody real with criminal intentions, who didn't hear the intended victim moving away silently after stopping. Perhaps the would be attacker thought that after a few drinks and total darkness, and being alone in an isolated spot, the victim wouldn't know what literally hit him. Staying silent and then moving off silently after a while, may have just saved his life. Perhaps the would be attacker thought better of it, thinking that the would be victim was armed and had stopped for that reason.
I find it interesting that Prof Hutton says that most Fairy encounters are mundane. With people who say they have had encounters with other things like ghosts, ufos etc their stories seem to be elaborate and they seem to be peolple who are obsessed with those types of things. I saw a fairy fly past my window in the early hours of the morning just a couple of years ago. I live in London in a heavily wooded area. This was the first and only time this has happened .I wasnt drunk, dreaming half asleep ,under stress or anything like this. I have not told anyone of this as that was the entire story and i didnt think anybody even claimed to have seen such things. I stumbled across this you tube post and am fascinated to find out others have had these encounters.
So many great comments in here! I HIGHLY RECOMMENDED reading the comments.. lots of amazing encounters, old stories and tales as well as resources for a plethora of books! This is the encounter story that keeps on giving! ❤
The hotel lights appearing hazily through the mist must have been the most wonderful sight ever! I have been in similar situations ( without the ghostly footsteps ) and can imagine the scene vividly!
When I was a child my mum showed me (on a weekly basis) when the fairies was dancing in the fields and meadows. Always a circle, always anti clock wise. Larger than humans but still similar shapes like covered in veils and very foglike but on a sunny meadow. The sightings became rarer but I could show my children a couple of times in the early nineties. But no sightings to show my grandchildren. I saw them in the suburbs of Stockholm Sweden, showed my children in the countryside of south Sweden. Today I live on a swedish island in the Baltic sea in rural surroundings but no fairies. Have our modern way of living sent them extinct? Probably. I feel sad for my grandchildren missing out.
Thanks so much for sharing that. How beautiful and precious to be able to share down through generations. Would love to chat to you about that sometime. you are welcome to contact me at scarlettofthefaeATgmailDOTcom I do believe that there are still many fairies but I also agree that our way of living (wiping out nature in every sense) is making them extinct. I feel sad too. I have hope we can turn things around and have felt the tide towards that for some time. Let's hold that vision!
@@marcellacoleman238 I have always been a scientific and pragmatic person and have never vibrated in any kind of frequency however my curiosity (and occupation as an archaeologist) have always pushed me to not just look at things but actually see them, as objectively as humanly possible.
@@marcellacoleman238 Yes, the indigenous tribes in America and Canada all agree that Bigfoot is a pan-dimensional being, able to appear in our dimension for short periods. I would imagine that consciousness is incarnate in every dimension in a form appropriate to the frequency of that dimension. Bleed-throughs are only to be expected. Hallucinogens seem to often play a part in raising one´s frequency, I´m sure my world view would be different had I not explored LSD and psilocybin. Unfortunately the bottom of my garden is a couple of hundred feet below, and quite inaccessible. Just the place ...
my brother and i saw a marching line of tiny light-filled, bright gnomes on a stone wall in the mid 1960s in northeastern usa. A wooded area. Because he was with me in the night, we were able to compare this story many years later matching details exactly ! We were both around 12 years old. We both saw them ! We went back several nights to possibly see them again I believe i remember seeing them again with him, i will ask him as this second memory is fuzzy.
Great that you saw them together. There are quite a number of multiple witness sightings. Thank you for commenting. You could consider sending your sighting to The Fairy Census at The Fairy Investigation Society. I’m happy for you to write to me at scarlettofthefae@gmail.com
What an amazing experience that must have been. Do you mind if I ask which state this happened in? I understand if you don’t wish to say, you were probably vague about the location for a reason and I respect that. Thank you for sharing your story, would be neat to know if your brother recalls the second encounter. Take care
Would anyone here be able to help me understand a dream I had? I don't know if what I dreamt was of real faeries, but I don't know how else to describe them. The dream was so specific and oddly unlike any expectation I had in my mind of what faeries are like, but in my heart, I feel that I saw faeries. Yet I struggle to find any description online of what I saw and feel was a true look into the spiritual dimension. I am hoping someone here can help me better understand these beings I encountered? This is the dream: I was living in the woods and taking care of two stray feral kittens by feeding them everyday. These beings soon took notice of me and showed themselves to me as they moved in procession through the woods, somehow my taking care of the kittens caught their attention. They were very thin and waiflike, shaped in faint glowing white light, almost too thin to be humanoid and similar to the shape of a stick, maybe a foot tall. I saw no discernable features. Just light. They wanted me to be aware of them is what I felt. They then showed me in my mind's eye these beautiful chrysalis topped stalks or stick-like structures. The approximate width of a twig from a tree. And there the dream ended. Who have I encountered? Did I have my first faerie meeting? Thank you for reading. I hope someone can help me learn who these beings are!
A new but ardent fan of Professor Hutton, I am enchanted! God bless all who read this with showers of blessings. Love and light from a Javanese from West Java, Indonesia!, 🙏🌴🇮🇩🌴🙏❤💝❣️
A girl I know (then aged about 10) saw what she called a fairy one evening at dusk in the French countryside. The creature was about 20 to 30 cms tall (less than a foot) and had a sort of fuzzy translucid garment, wings like a butterfly and no feet. It flew across the path right in front of her. That girl is a country kid well used to seeing all sorts of birds and animals and it wasn't a bird.
My Dad was Irish too and he felt the same. That they were a part of nature. It seems completely natural to me and many other people too. Particularly those who have had experiences. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. You may enjoy the audio podcast too: themodernfairysightingspodcast.buzzsprout.com/
I believe these beings were very much intertwined within cultures in Britain and Ireland at one or more times. People were much more in tune with Nature, the elements and their own surroundings, understanding plants, water and wind. In part at least, because of multiple invasions and changes to life and belief, and then rapid industrialisation in many places, people lost their connection to the land. As with everything it's not gone, just sleeping.
In England my mother had a friend who was convinced fairies were at the bottom of her garden, her son was so embarrassed, and my father was always pointing out fairy rings😂I think it links to the spirit of nature.
An absolutely chilling tale told brilliantly by the erudite Professor Hutton. It is refreshing to see an academic of his stature adopt an open-minded and enquiring position on paranormal phenomena.
Ronald Hutton is undoubtedly a man of great character. Strong of spirit, extremely clear of vision, adaptable, and brave also. His un-posturing demeanour proves the old adage regarding judging 'Books by their Covers' (no pun intended), to be very true. Coupled with great character, is a level of high intelligence, patience, and politeness. All in all, I see himself as a real, 'man's man'. Hugely to be respected. As a former Cornish miner, I have met with, and enjoyed the company of, many such men, in quite inhospitable surroundings: Men you don't meet everyday; like our Celtic Piskies.
This comment section is possibly the only place I can publicly share that I saw Pan several years ago. I was walking in a suburban neighborhood that I've walked many times in my life, it was a sunny central Florida afternoon, and I felt pressure (not painful or uncomfortable) in my third eye and there he was! Unmistakably, Pan! About a foot or so tall, a jet black pointed goatee, goat hindquarters, with a sly smile, no horns though... just looking at me. I closed and rubbed my eyes and expected him to be gone but no he was still there at the base of an oak tree. I wish i would've tried to communicate with him but I was dumbfounded. He eventually faced away, the concave feeling of my 3rd eye opening hugely closed, and I continued on my walk. :)
Amazing! Happy for you to write to me at scarlettofthefae@gmail.com if you would like time to include this in my research (not necessarily for the Podcast) www.scarlettofthefae.com
I don’t think you saw Pan - but a faun. Pan is usually human-size or larger. R. Ogilvie Cromby of Findhorn (Scotland) fame has the BEST experiences with Pan. I think there’s a UA-cam video where he describes his time with first a faun, then later, Pan. Fauns generally work with the health and well-being of trees. They are creatures of the Light and not to be feared. It was the Catholic Church that demonized the beautiful woodland god, who is Nature itself. 🧚🏼♀️
@katie.loxo, American author Elizabeth Hand (who lives half the year in London) saw a Pan-like figure many years ago. That's never left her. She's the author of "Waking the Moon," a wonderful, rich book about goddess worship.
I once took a walk after having a few drinks at the inn. It was very dark and foggy . I think I heard footsteps near me. I saw nobody and nothing happened. It was a great experience indeed.
It was a sunny, summer day in coastal W.Australia, in 2021when I decided to take photo of one of my plants; I leaned closer to see the flowers better and "clicked". To my surprise what I could see was a face expression at the end of one flower. A doubter cloud say, ohhh, it's just your imagination, but friend of mind who is very intuitive, immediately confirmed my sighting. I do believe in fairies. I found professor Hutton story very interesting.
Thank you. that's so nice to hear. These connections and communications with nature hold great meaning in our lives and we don't often get a chance to recognise how valuable that is. I had a magical experience during a Sammhain festival i was invited to years back with modern druid and wiccan out around Avebury in the UK. We were gathering up in a circle at one ancient spot and i began to see florescent balls of light rolling along the ground but they would gather and "hide" from my behind the wheels of a baby pram since a few folks had small children with them. Someone in the group told me they were fairies and they didn't like to be watched or stared at. That is the only time I've seen them. I've only seen them in the UK and not in other continents where I've lived or worked.
Thanks that’s very interesting. Does not surprise me that they would be observed in Avebury or any other sacred site. But still fascinating to hear about.
I grew up with my grandfather here in Ireland in my early years and what he told me about the shee was not very good at all, he used to point out certain field's in the semi rural area were we lived saying " never take a short cut though such in such a field on a night with no moon as the shee play music and football (g.a.a . An Irish form of football where the hands can be used to pick up the ball ) and if you stumbled across this, on hearing that music you will become inchanted and taken into their realm were the human construct of time does not exist. I've heard other tale's of people making deal's with the shee for invisibleaty , fame or fortune but in return the same people must return to the fairy realm when they finish their early life. Even had heard of a guy who tricked the fairy folk and escaped their realm on a magickal black horse only to fall off the horse on entering the gates of his home and as he hit the ground he aged 100 years and died instantly , to the guy he only felt as if he had only spent maybe two days with the fairys but on the earthly realm one hundred years had passed bye . It's important work you are doing on your channel. This folklore must be preserved .
Thanks very much. I'd love to hear more about your grandfather's traditions and beliefs. Very happy for you to write to me if you felt like doing that: scarlettofthefae@gmail.com And yes, I've heard plenty of stories of those that get on the wrong side of the Fae for sure!
Hi scarlet , I wouldn't love to converse with you on this topic, I'm a bit busy right now as I am building my own house right now but after that I'd like that , i will most definitely email you. On a funny note about nine months ago I had to seek out the local "wise man" to examine the land and the actual site for the house so that he could let me know if a fairy footpath lay on the site of where I wouldn't like to build .
How do we know what happened to the man if he instantly died? Hmmm. I'm being flippant I know. I agree though, Folklore is VERY important and should not be forgotten. The mystery and magic of life is still alive. Perhaps on that thought it is us who are the forgotten ones.
There are lots of such stories in the wonderful oral history accounts by Evans-Wentz called The Faerie Faith in Celtic Countries. Most of the interviews are from the early 20th century in Ireland and England, when belief in little people was very common. I gather that the Hebrides islands off Scotland is a hold-out region, and also Iceland. I think the Irish have practically lost it.
I had a similar experience when visiting renovation of the old nunnery at castle martyr in Ireland. I became aware of someone walking in step with me on the other side of the shrubbery. I told the security guard and he said "nobody will work here in the evening."
Interesting. I had that experience too, the first time I saw a fairy man. I will post that soon on here but it’s already on my audio version of the podcast here www.scarlettofthefae.com
ive thought ive seen fairies or gnomes or beatrix potters anthropomorphic creatures whenever i get to visit & walk in less traveled forests(one of my favorite things to do) & although they disappear in a blink, i always say, " how do you do, i wont be long here, thank u for letting me walk thru ur beautiful forest" & then they dont disturb me.😄😄my respect to this professor for his diligence in his work. we need more like him.
The fairy lore of Britain , aswell as other parts of Europe , is extremely rich and vivid . It is very interesting to note the wide range of different fairy beings that are spoken of in British folklore .
In south of Mexico, the gobblings ( that look like tiny children) are call "chenekes" the are maya gobblings. And they love to hide things from people. 😊
I’m thrilled to read these comments of encounters. Thank you, everyone. We never expected to have a fairy experience. My niece & I were walking the dog in the garden. We were just talking about nothing when this glowing greenish-yellowish orb started floating across the yard towards us. It was about 4” in diameter & flew around sporadically, popping in & out of sight. The tiny being buzzed my niece in her face. I looked over at her. Her jaw was on the ground. The tiny creature flew over to me & darted around at face level for a few seconds before flickering in & out in a strange flight pattern & disappeared into the Irises. When the little flying person was in front of me, she had beautiful little human legs. The glow was too bright to see her face inside the orb, but I could see an outline of the dainty figure in the orb. When I finally had the presence of mind to look over to my niece, she said, “Gae-Gae it had legs.” We thought fairytales were just stories until that odd visitation.
Wonderful 😊 thank you. I think you may enjoy Red Winged Warrior episode on the audio version but pls note it’s v sad and not suitable for children: www.scarlettofthefae.com/episode-17-red-winged-warrior/
As a child I slept on a bunk bed, one night I awoke to see two small female fairy like creatures at the foot of my bed. I remember thinking how intense and blond they were. They had pointed ears and features. The next thing I remember is waking up on the floor of my room facing the other direction. Later I told myself I must have fallen out of bed with a weird dream. Now thinking back I remember smells and definitely didn't fall out of bed.

When I was about 5 years old, I was in the back garden with my older brother and sister (they were about 10 years older than me). We were standing close to a big tree, all of a sudden a short, stocky lady about 4 or 5 foot tall, came running out of the tree. She ran around the tree, screaming about something and flapping her hands. She was running around the tree quite fast and her dark hair was really long past her butt. She was really wild looking, with a very stout, stocky body, kind of gnome-ish. I started shouting to my brother and sister "look!!" and i remember them saying "look at what?! Theres nothing there!". The lady dissapeared back into the tree. I have a few other stories of encounters I have had as an adult aswell.

Just came upon this channel tonight/early morning in the USA. I had a very amazing encounter with a leprechaun in dreamtime, in 1986. I'm a singer/song writer//composer on my guitar and was working on one of my songs back then, and was having trouble with getting the right cadence form in a certain part of the song. So I was just dreaming and there appeared a leprechaun in front of me, dressed in the green hat, clothes and buckle on his shoes with his hands on his hips and very short stature and began singing/mocking the certain lines I was working on, he did it in a funny amusing way, repeating it over and over again. And then I awoke, got up, picked up my guitar and just worked it out perfectly for the way it should sound. The song is about a certain time in history, in British isles, btw. I am Welsh, Scots/Irish heritage btw. Have you ever heard people talking about dream encounters from the fairies in this way? If so would like to hear more about this. I am very satisfied with the song and would like to record it some day.
Fantastic! yes, there have been a number of cases and here is a fairly famous one of Thomas Wood. This is by Chris Woodyard and she co hosts Boggart and Banshee Podcast with Simon Young. It's an excellent podcast: Here's her article on the case: hauntedohiobooks.com/music-fairy-recorded/

fascinating interview - i once saw a beautiful shining fairy high up on a tree branch during the night - shining with very intense blue light - and another time I remember during a nature walk a deer had stood about 10 yards away from me, directly on the path on which I was walking - it did not move as any other deer most certainly would have when they see a human - deer almost always bolt away like a flash - but no, this one looked directly at me and the thing I will never forget were the deer's unusually large and luminous eyes - I knew this was no ordinary deer - to this day I am convinced it was a fairy in the guise of a deer -- it seemed to me the eyes had some sparkle of the light from the otherworld in them - I was with my beloved partner that day as we were walking the path through the woods together - we radiate quite a bit of fairy-like energy of our own, of which I can attest from many other experiences - so I also believe because of our loving energy that we were gifted with the meeting in the woods with the fairy deer - now I don't know about those who say there is anything at all malevolent about fairies - that is something i could never resonate with - except to think the organized church may have started some anti-fairy propaganda to instill more fear in the religious flock towards anything outside the domain of the church's official teachings - blessings 2 all - may the Fae be with you
Thank you for this. I know that feeling of locking eyes with nature itself and it can be incredibly moving. Sometimes it can feel as it you are connecting with the very soul of the place through those eyes. What's interesting is that many of these encounters involve eye to eye contact. Thanks so much for your comment. You might enjoy the audio version with lots more stories: www.scarlettofthefae.com/
Interesting account. Very similar to Celtic legends of faery deer as found in Welsh legend. Though interestingly it was often pursued by fairy hunters right to Annwyn. I would tend to take this account more seriously than gossamer Winged tinker bells which are a Victorian invention. Check out the story of Richard II and his white Hart too🙏
Ahh thank you that is so nice to hear. You can tell her that they are indeed real. I don't recommend my podcast for kids but you might enjoy it. June 24 is the best day to look for fairy and gobblins specially before day light, its the john baptist night, where witches make rituals and conjurings.
Ronald Hutton is my favourite historian of Stuart England, especially his book on The Ritual Year; and I very much enjoyed his victory in a contretemps with an American writer on Christian vs classical resonances in J R R Tolkien's legendarium, in which I think he came out on top intellectually and morally! The breadth of his interests and sympathies makes him a cut above most academics in his field, in my view. How interesting to hear an unusual personal anecdote.
I Saw One in My bathroom of all places.., all gray with large wings...thought was moth but wasn't then it vanished like it Cloaked...bathroom lights were flickering too...I was Stunned...it will happen when you least expect it,it seems...
I remember waking up in the woods after a heavy night's drinking and recalling a magical experience where I was protected throughout the night by a fairy. As it turns out it was just a small gypsy, but it was still magical.
Years ago, I went to Killarney, in Co Kerry. I was riding my bike and went to the lake. At some point, I felt disoriented, stopped and saw something, a bright white light, behind me. I looked behind and saw a tall, bright white woman...the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. I can't really describe her clothes...it was like two seconds, really, very fast. I felt very sleepy and sat down, and fell asleep. I got a message: Learn to live with love and forgiveness. I woke up and found my bike broken...how? Then I saw three people not far from there, their bikes got broken as well, they were trying to go the same direction as I wanted to go when I got disoriented. I asked them for help, we helped each other to repair our bikes, then I ran, ran away! I'll never forget that experience...
I adore Ronald Hutton, such gifts he has. And you're right, he has an ethereal quality to him. I think he may have said something to the Leanan sídthe and isn't fessing up! 😉
In July I was in a special place in W. Scotland my family homeland, not been back for 20yrs (not going to name the area so it remains untouched) the fae are prevalent, I could here them giggling! I asked permission to enter & left them a offerings during the walk! I took my ex & he could hear them too! Of course he got freaked out! He tripped & they laughed so much! They weren't happy & said to me "leave him" so, I moved away, pretending to take photos, gave them a sweet offering & asked them to expose him & his intentions! OMG! The next 3 days, I found out lies, secrets, debts, attitudes etc. Yup! That's why he's my ex!
I had a peculiar experience in the late 90s in Wiltshire, England. I was camping at a quiet alternative festival called the big green gathering with a group of friends, late one night I decided to go for a walk outside the festival in the local fields to visit a long-barrow I’d heard of in the area. Nobody wanted to come with me so I went alone. A couple of fields outside the festival I found the long-barrow, it was dark, maybe midnight, August, clear and warm and not so dark that I couldn’t see well, there must have been a moon up. I walked out to the barrow, climbed onto it even and stayed a while before deciding to head back. When I stepped off the barrow somebody pulled on the back of my waistcoat, I turned around in a flash and saw a young man suddenly dart away behind me but as he did so his body just turned to mist and wasn’t there anymore. It was skin pricklingly frightening. I watched for a moment but carried on walking back towards the campsite. On the way across the field I had my waistcoat pulled at least twice more and turning only saw smirking faces turning into mist, I even saw one of these apparitions running in front of me. I made it to the wall of the field and once over it they were all gone. I hurried back to the tent and told my friends but don’t think anyone believed me. It wasn’t really frightening but I often wonder what would have happened if I’d got tied up in their game. Makes me shudder to this day.
I have only seen fairy lights in my life. Gorgeous pink and green dancing lights. Just dancing lights but very real. My sister actually saw a fairy and she talked about it excitedly for her whole life. The thing about seeing fairies is that it is very real and it stays with you for your whole life. No doubt they exist. The thing is that they have their own realm and their own lives and they need to be left alone and free. They are not spirit guides for humans or anything like that. Sometimes they involve themselves in the lives of humans for better or worse, but usually they want to keep to themselves.
Years ago, I had encounters with elves. One in particular was called Elong Rhingus. As I traveled about the USA, he would introduce me to the elves in the area. He appeared as a reflection in a window in a photograph I had taken. Some of elves in Berkeley, California, would make up things to tell me and then laughed behind my back that I believed them. Elong Rhinhus actually appeared as a reflection in a window of a photograph I had taken.

Good Evening Professor... I just came upon your channel....I am glad that finally people are acknowledging that there are little people, fairies, gnomes...in other words, the elementals...which help us with gardens , flowers...and so much more... I had an experience but at the time, No one spoke of the elementals... I was at a hut near the river, I had to kill the chickens that an old friend had, to my dismay he was at hospital and called me to do this for him, it was Autumn....so one by one I did the deed and at everyone of them I would thank their spirit for their offer of food...I had to get pails of water to do all the work it brings, as I was going up the steps of the hut ,something very bright would pass around my feet and I would be careful not to fall....I thought to myself how weird that was, there were no animals, cats around and as I said it was so fast, bright like twinkles....they would stay around my feet without my being able to see what it was exactly....I wonder..,could it have been the hens spirits ? All that lives has spirit am I right ?.. A few months after, I was called at the last minute to be asked if I would join a meditation group for that evening...I did so, as I come in, I see this tiny beautiful woman who was the one to guide us...but she kept watching me, making me quite uncomfortable.....it all went well, some things happened very surprisingly, but to shorten this...at the end, she told me I had the little people with me, were with me, came in with me and other people were able to see them...I was not prepared to hear this as I knew nothing of them...but she told me that I had sat in the East , which she explained little people come from...I have never seen them ...I have no idea what they look like...I am very connected to nature, I do bring candies to water elementals near the river.....with this I Ieave you..and thank you for mentioning about the fairies and more...
This was absolutely fascinating - thanks so much for posting. I love Hutton's openness and humility. My parents were raised on farms in the west of Ireland- counties Clare and Mayo- with a deep respect for fairy lore and forts. You simply didn't mess with them or build near them. Sceptics will roll their eyes and smirk at that- let them. (Q: Are sceptics ever sceptical of their scepticism?). My mother used to speak of the "fir (far) gorta", ie "hungry man", where a man - always a man- and would be overcome with hunger and feel exhausted while wandering late at night. That could be put down to low blood sugar: or not. Ireland is a land steeped in religion with a rich pagan past: we have no problem believing such things. The English are, generally I think, a "sensible", "logical" lot. A brother of mine worked for an Irish archaeological firm in south-east Ireland. They were told about a fairy fort; the English among them laughed it off. My brother tried to make them see sense. Nothing doing. They didn't destroy the fort but worked very close to it. In the following two weeks many of these workers me accidents and bad luck. Ronald Hutton and his interviewers are English anomalies. The English who come to explore Ireland should respect all aspects of the country's folklore.😂
I love that…”are skeptics ever skeptical of their skepticism” 😁 I think it depends how you were brought up. My father was Irish and I think Professor Hutton is very open minded as well as being a superbly talented academic. Much more open mindedness needed in the rower but we are socialised to value ‘logic’ and rationality above all 🙏
William Laidlaw, also called Will O’Phaup, born 1691 was “the last man of this wild region who heard, saw and conversed with the fairies; and that not once but at sundry times and seasons.” Will lived on the edge of Ettrick Forest which was “the last retreat of the spirits of the glen, before taking their final leave of the land of their love.”
Absolutely fascinating interview and story. I have related an experience I had in another post. Dr. Hutton, thank you *so* much for discussing how Western society has no positive recognition or place for the many people who have what would be called Shamanic abilities in a Traditional culture, and would be seen as having an important gift. My background/degree is in Anthropology with a focus on Comparative Religion, Subcultures and folklore, and psychology. I worked as a counselor for many years. There are many, many stories in the folklore of many cultures about how the advice of Shamans saved people in times of crisis and healed people who were badly injured or sick. Early explorers confirmed that Shamans, some otherwise ordinary members of society, gave information transmitted to them by spiritual means that might save the entire group in a crisis. Back to modern times and counseling, I had one job that helped people with disabilities, physical or emotional, to stabilize themselves and find employment. I had one client who came across as extremely professional and social. When I asked her about her disability, she said dismissively "well, they *say* I'm Schizophrenic". When I asked her what this meant to her, she said when she was being treated for depression after a divorce she made the mistake of telling her therapist that she regularly heard voices that told her where her missing keys were, that she had forgotten to turn the oven off, or left the door unlocked. I asked her if the voices ever told her to harm herself or others. She said of course not! Honestly, I couldn't see why this was an issue, it was useful! Society doesn't agree, though. She ended up getting a really good job, and last time I spoke to her she's still receiving helpful advice.
I grew up in the rural American South and played unattended in the woods a lot. I had some weird experiences but easily explainable by psychology. One thing that to this day seems almost supernatural was how safe I was in spite of how careless I could be. I used to just jump into bushes and creeks. I rarely wore bug repellent. I was often enough barefoot even though I had plenty of shoes and even boots for the very purpose of walking in the woods and often didn’t wear them. But I was never bitten by a snake. I ran up on the occasional poacher or homeless camp but was never shot by some peckerwood hunter mistaking me for a game warden or a deer. Some thieves hid some stolen vehicles back there but I never ran into them. Never got tracked by feral hogs. Had plenty of ticks but never contracted any weird disease. Fell trying to play Tarzan on an old vine but landed in a pile of soft mud. The good Lord or some element of His Creation was watching over me for some purpose. Before anyone interrogates me about the problem of evil much smarter people than me can debate that with you. Just a personal understanding I have with reality that gets me through in hard times… at least the boy I used to be had some friend(s) or purpose that kept him from any real harm (except the occasional whooping for messing up my clothes in the elements).
Was discussing just this matter very recently. Kids seem to have a protective layer sometimes! They get into scrapes and take chances but somehow for the large part usually avoid getting into difficulties. We were taking specifically about being around and playing with toxic plants such as foxgloves etc. you’re lucky you got away with the ticks!
My girlfriend's father, whoo's passed away now, had an amazing storry. As a kid he went missing for few days and whole village was on a quest to find him. He miraculously appeared one day and had a story which few believed. He was taken by fairy people into some cave where they fed him with milk and can't remember what else. There was a quarrel between fairies should they let him go or not and the fairy which was fond of him and had possibly some form of authority decided she wants him free. She said to him to not speak of the experience when he is back with his people. There are details to the story which my girlfriend still remembers but I can't recall as I write this. Her father would have so much to share if he's still with us. He was very serious around the subject which i'm sure shaped his view on life as he was growing up after that. Think he was around 6 years of age and this was in rural Croatia.
That is an utterly amazing story. Please tell your girlfriend that she is most welcome to contact me at scarlettofthefae@gmail.com if she would ever like to . I'd love to hear more about that story. Thanks so much for commenting :)
Jacques Vallee in "Passport to Magonia " writes in great depth about "supernatural encounters " , in the chapters " the good people " and "the secret commonwealth " in particular .
Fairies are absolutely real and my experience with them was a delight. I sure do hope it happens again! Here it is, some may find it non-descript: I was in my bed, dozing off, not completely asleep. I began to hear a very gentle and low humming and I also saw flickering lights, gentle, calming. The lights were like little dots flying back and forth, giggling, happy. But all of it very subtle, as if I was seeing into another dimension. And I saw them while my eyes were closed, so I believe it was my third eye that I was using. So, so lovely. A sense of serenity, well-being. I hope they come back soon, it's been a while. ❤
My mother born in the late 1920s in lancashire told me of an encounter she had growing up at around 14. She was walking along the road near her house, not many people had cars then and it was mainly fields and hedges. She said it was a bright sunny day and she was thinking if nothing in particular when a tiny man less than 18 inches high jumped out of the hedge in front of her. Looked at her and jumped back into the hedge and out of sight. Mum didn't have time to get many details. She said he had a human face and wore greeny brown clothes. She was shocked but nothing else happened. When she told her mum she'd just seen a little man, her mum said did you? And continued ironing. Mum sometimes got premonitions. My brother did occasionally too. I sense spirits. Had a number of encounters with ghosts and tiny sparks of light that lived in the gardens around our cottage on Anglesey.
How strange just found this page , not long since come back from a trip to Anglesey. We visited Church Island at Menai Bridge. Also im from Lancashire😮
Thank you. Yes, these occurrences happen much more frequently that we realise. The little man I saw was also a humanoid that was wearing lots of green. His wrinkled ancient face was the thing I most remember but it was a lovely face nevertheless. I talk about it on one of my episodes: www.scarlettofthefae.com/bonus-episode-13-jos-fairy-encounter/
Thanks to Professor Hutton for sharing this experience! I totally know how it feels to experience something strange and not being sure whether it's the senses playing tricks on us, whether the experience is real or an unusual one. We like to be "rational" about things, or at least allow for a (what we call) rational explanation and are careful of not deciding on anything "supernatural" too quickly. I am very sure that the physical world is not the only thing that exists, and that people in 100 years will laugh at our ideas about the supernatural, because scientist will have advanced so much that some of these now-called supernatural phenomena will be explored and understood, at least partly.
i love reading everyone''a comments and totally believe we can attract and enjoy the lovely fairies and need not even pay attention to any who don't emminate love and light heartedness. I think the universe is so vast that we can experience whatever we are open to, and that fey do have certain earth areas more common than others to see and experience,. Love this podcast. Thank you Professor Hutton. And the lovely interviewer. Bless you!..
As a child , playing with my cousins, running around trying to catch Fire flys, it was night time, late, we were on the roof with my elders etc. The elders were talking drinking tea, then a. Adult came over to me, asked me to come with them to the edge of the roof and pointed out into the pitch black and asked me, what could i see. I promptly told her i could see 3 blue light, spheres, bobbing in the air, moving in an extraordinairy lightness and swiftness. The elder asked me more questions, i just answered, as it was no big deal to me, then i went back to chasing Fire Flys with my cousins, as we waited for our elders to set up the mosquito nets over our beds on the roof that night. This was in rural India.
beautiful! I love this. Yes, I live in hope that we are passing these ways of being on to our kids and grandkids. It's a natural part of our human existence that has been socialised out of us. Thank you for sharing.
Some years ago i was walking in a forest when i heard a voice say "look down!". At that moment i heard something scamper away... I looked around but saw nothing. But i knew i had heard something on two feet run away. The sound didn't last long so whatever it was, was still close by, but no matter how closely i examined the ground around me i just couldn't see "it". I definitely had the feeling there was something there. This is a forest where my nana told me there were fairies. And i gave photos of some interesting things from there but i keep them private and rarely show anyone.
The people of Appalachia in America know the fairies both from the Indigenous cultural experience and the Scottish tradition, the two of which hybridised with each other over time as these two demographics married into each other. Modernly, there are, I believe records of encounters both in the WPA archives in the US National Archives which were collected back during the Great Depression of the 1930, and there are allegedly police reports in Gardai archives in Ireland, taken during the course of the 20th century of faery/fairy sightings.
I would so love to read those Gardai reports and wow I hadn't thought of the National Archives. What a research project that would be. I do still get encounters told to me by people living in the Appalachia now. If you are interested in sightings in Ireland I can recommend this episode which is one of my all time favourites. This happened about ten years ago as far as I remember. www.scarlettofthefae.com/episode-9-the-tall-folk-and-the-little-people/ Thank you for listening! American here. I am (naturally) aware of the Nat'l Archives, WPA records. However, I had never heard any stories of this subject matter. Do you happen to remember any specific topic titles or, subject titles within, the WPA archives? I'd be curious to know what kind of encounters wrere recorded.
Lovely story! Thanks.
Thank you for commenting. That’s very sweet. We see and experience so much more as kids before we are told that ‘it’s nonsense’ but many of us still view the world as a magical place which it very much is.
Delightful story, and memory to reflect on.
What a lovely and poignant story
As children we are open to life's miracle's and delight ourselves in the magic, until we hear nonsense, don't be foolish, Oh be quiet.

I’m sorry to hear that and I absolutely believe in the possibility of what you describe. I witnessed something similar happen many years ago 🙏🏻
I have similar life to yours. Please watch - “The Initiates Of The Flame” by Agrippa’s Diary.
I know your story to be true , I myself have and still are having many, people ridicule because they can’t believe what they have not experienced,, it’s just not their time,,
I believe you. I too have experienced such healings...❤
I love that, the lounge setting, the blanket, the whole atmosphere. It's magical to me. ❤
When I was a child I was playing in the grass outside the Chapel, and saw a little man about a foot high and dressed in green, running through the grass.
Wonderful! Thank you

Or , yes, it could have been a similarly terrified human.
One thing is for sure, it wasn't a fairy.

♥️🌹🙏🏼
Can I have some of that luck please
So what was it on the school trip exactly? And what lady, where? Did she desribe you what you saw on that school trip because you forgot?
I want to know what happened on the Isle of Eigg

Some people call this a ‘breakthrough’ rather than a breakdown. Holding you in my heart 🙏
Sounds like your personal guardian angel ❤
Sounds like Jesus to me.
I’ve felt that peace - it’s the peace of God 💖It’s incredible isn’t it!
Beautiful! A blessing
Others have described similar clothes and size
Thank you for your input Professor Ronald Hutton🤔🤔👍
That is very sweet! Thank you and great to hear of your connection with nature. I think you will appreciate the new episode I’m about to release

VERY INTERESTING!! Thanks for your story.
That's a very interesting share. Thank you. This 'bearing of the teeth' is something that comes up occasionally. Have a listen to this episode on the audio version:

How come such a casual reaction, was it cause offf shock?
Thank you. Is that London Wall as in the old roman wall?

Multiple witness sightings happen quite a bit too, so you are not alone there either.

Thank you so much for this!

There are a couple of stories from Australia in the Podcast (audio version):
www.scarlettofthefae.com/

Thanks so much Tracy. This is great to hear!

I assume you are telling the truth, but I think you experienced a waking dream from a genetic source -your dna.

I was about 6 or 7 years old and I was a little sad and missing my mom ( she was an unfit mother but that's another story). I was looking out my bedroom window and had fallen into a trance and out of nowhere I started to see speckles of color to my right. That's a very scholarly and gentlemanly way of saying he got hammered.
Modest yet significant, clearly means he had a good buzz on, not that he was really drunk.

At any rate, it was enough to make him see fairies

It is beginning to dawn on me that the world is much stranger, more uncanny than I could ever imagine.
. . and the many explorations of Science have brought us, in the end, to that same awareness. We are returning to the ancient way of consciousness, or, as Owen Barfield would say, to Participation.

😂😂😂 yeah …you got any evidence for this ?
I bet he was a great storyteller long before he had his spooky experience.
Ah, that's so lovely... it is scary because we can't discuss openly and so fear grows... so sad. I'm a believer ❤
@@AmyOrlando-ds6ok what a wonderful blessing 💗😊
@@themodernfairysightingspod8421 Thanks for the reply. No changes in sound or vision; it was a bright, sunny day and the man looked normal.
I’m glad you found us! 😊

How nice to make suggestions! Helpful!
Would love to chat to you about that sometime. you are welcome to contact me at scarlettofthefaeATgmailDOTcom
I do believe that there are still many fairies but I also agree that our way of living (wiping out nature in every sense) is making them extinct. I feel sad too. I have hope we can turn things around and have felt the tide towards that for some time. Let's hold that vision!
I think,it's about the frequency that we vibrate at ,that determines our awareness of different wavelengths in and around us
@@marcellacoleman238 I have always been a scientific and pragmatic person and have never vibrated in any kind of frequency however my curiosity (and occupation as an archaeologist) have always pushed me to not just look at things but actually see them, as objectively as humanly possible.

Yes, the indigenous tribes in America and Canada all agree that Bigfoot is a pan-dimensional being, able to appear in our dimension for short periods.
LSD?
There's a story of a young woman (I think) who saw gnomes in a wooded area in New York

I grew up with the Gaelic world idea of the " fairies". These fairies were respected and were believed to be part of nature .
@@hobi1kenobi112 That's a beautiful thought. Thankyou.
I live in the isle of man where we have a fairy bridge where it is custom to say “hello fairies” when you travel past
Amazing! Happy for you to write to me at scarlettofthefae@gmail.com if you would like time to include this in my research (not necessarily for the Podcast)

I have heard a couple tales of a goat man
@katie.loxo, American author Elizabeth Hand (who lives half the year in London) saw a Pan-like figure many years ago. That's never left her. She's the author of "Waking the Moon," a wonderful, rich book about goddess worship.

Very happy for you to write to me if you felt like doing that: scarlettofthefae@gmail.com
And yes, I've heard plenty of stories of those that get on the wrong side of the Fae for sure!
I will post that soon on here but it’s already on my audio version of the podcast here

ive thought ive seen fairies or gnomes or beatrix potters anthropomorphic creatures whenever i get to visit & walk in less traveled forests(one of my favorite things to do) & although they disappear in a blink, i always say, " how do you do, i wont be long here, thank u for letting me walk thru ur beautiful forest" & then they dont disturb me.😄😄my respect to this professor for his diligence in his work. we need more like him.
There are Fairies all over Europa, Americas, Africa,Asia but there is a large concentration that have found a home in professional Sports.

Thank you Professor Hutton. Being Irish I have always believed in the little people. Possibly because I read the classic, BORROWERS as a child.

I am very satisfied with the song and would like to record it some day.

fascinating interview - i once saw a beautiful shining fairy high up on a tree branch during the night - shining with very intense blue light - and another time I remember during a nature walk a deer had stood about 10 yards away from me, directly on the path on which I was walking - it did not move as any other deer most certainly would have when they see a human - deer almost always bolt away like a flash - but no, this one looked directly at me and the thing I will never forget were the deer's unusually large and luminous eyes - I knew this was no ordinary deer - to this day I am convinced it was a fairy in the guise of a deer -- it seemed to me the eyes had some sparkle of the light from the otherworld in them - I was with my beloved partner that day as we were walking the path through the woods together - we radiate quite a bit of fairy-like energy of our own, of which I can attest from many other experiences - so I also believe because of our loving energy that we were gifted with the meeting in the woods with the fairy deer - now I don't know about those who say there is anything at all malevolent about fairies - that is something i could never resonate with - except to think the organized church may have started some anti-fairy propaganda to instill more fear in the religious flock towards anything outside the domain of the church's official teachings - blessings 2 all - may the Fae be with you

Sounds spooky but very interesting!
Was Elong possibly a Sloane Rhingus?
@@lizvermaas9703 I don't know. Next time I go to the Huntington Gardens I shall see if I can connect with him and ask. Who or what is Sloan Rhingus?
I suspect the person you're asking is making a pun: a 'Sloan Ranger' is an old school stereotype of a rich white woman who shops way too much.
I'm sorry, but there are no elves or fairies in the US. We have Bigfoot here. Little things like elves and fairies would not survive here.
@@juliadixon8465 I still don't get it. Especially, since I am not a compulsive shopper or a white woman. I pass for white, but am Italian/Spanish not Northern European.
A few months after, I was called at the last minute to be asked if I would join a meditation group for that evening...I did so, as I come in, I see this tiny beautiful woman who was the one to guide us...but she kept watching me, making me quite uncomfortable.....it all went well, some things happened very surprisingly,
but to shorten this...at the end, she told me I had the little people with me, were with me, came in with me and other people were able to see them...I was not prepared to hear this as I knew nothing of them...but she told me that I had sat in the East , which she explained little people come from...I have never seen them ...I have no idea what they look like...I am very connected to nature, I do bring candies to water elementals near the river.....with this I Ieave you..and thank you for mentioning about the fairies and more...
Thank you
This was absolutely fascinating - thanks so much for posting.
I love that…”are skeptics ever skeptical of their skepticism” 😁
I think it depends how you were brought up.
A seminal book in this area. It's a must-read. Check out Joshua Cutchin's work too.
I loved that book! It made me rethink folklore! He opened a door to a whole new world and I have never read a book with a more apt title. 😊
I read Passport to Magonia as well, great stuff indeed.
Every culture seems to have stories of beings who exist somewhere between humans and the natural world. Fascinating interview, thankyou!
Thank you 😊
My mother born in the late 1920s in lancashire told me of an encounter she had growing up at around 14.
Can you say more about the little sparks of light
Might have something to do with the Bulley case🥴
How strange just found this page , not long since come back from a trip to Anglesey. We visited Church Island at Menai Bridge. Also im from Lancashire😮
Thank you. Yes, these occurrences happen much more frequently that we realise. The little man I saw was also a humanoid that was wearing lots of green. His wrinkled ancient face was the thing I most remember but it was a lovely face nevertheless. I talk about it on one of my episodes:
www.scarlettofthefae.com/bonus-episode-13-jos-fairy-encounter/
I've seen little sparks of lights as well. My friend heard them and I felt their energy then saw them. They were fast and gold-ish. It was day time.
That was a wonderful, thrilling story. Thanks so much, Ronald. And thanks to the internet whims for sending this my way.
I'm so glad you found it. Thank you
Beautiful to meet the fairies and little ones ❤️ God Bless them all
As a child , playing with my cousins, running around trying to catch Fire flys, it was night time, late, we were on the roof with my elders etc.
I adore Professor Hutton! I've watched him on several TV shows. Thank you for interviewing him!
Really fantastic interview. Love the blankets!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks very much to you both for this engaging and thought provoking conversation.
Thanks so much for watching 🙂
Some years ago i was walking in a forest when i heard a voice say "look down!". At that moment i heard something scamper away... I looked around but saw nothing. But i knew i had heard something on two feet run away. The sound didn't last long so whatever it was, was still close by, but no matter how closely i examined the ground around me i just couldn't see "it". I definitely had the feeling there was something there. This is a forest where my nana told me there were fairies. And i gave photos of some interesting things from there but i keep them private and rarely show anyone.
I enjoyed this interview 😊
Thanks for sharing 👍
This happened about ten years ago as far as I remember. www.scarlettofthefae.com/episode-9-the-tall-folk-and-the-little-people/
Thank you for listening! You might enjoy the whole series here:

The English and Welsh would also have brought fairy traditions to Appalachia.
American here. I am (naturally) aware of the Nat'l Archives, WPA records. However, I had never heard any stories of this subject matter. Do you happen to remember any specific topic titles or, subject titles within, the WPA archives? I'd be curious to know what kind of encounters wrere recorded.
Gnomes too
@@trojanette8345 I would absolutely love to know these too. It would be a great area for research I should imagine.
Boston, Massachusetts, must be a beacon for these things, I' have seen enough of them there.
CT. As well
