Letho was actually spot on regarding what he said about Geralt sparing Sile SPOILER When you meet her in the prison in Oxenfurt in Witcher 3 and you see her all tortured up and everything, quite sad really..
I can never kill him for 2 reasons. 1. I try not to kill Witchers if possible, there are so few of them left in the world. 2. he took care of Geralt's woman and if you have ever read any book about Witcher and played game 1 or 3 you would know Geralt's main motivation are people close to him.
After making sure I have the best blades, armor, upgrades, potions, blade oils and grenades I could get, there was no way in hell that I would let Letho walk away without a fight.
One of the hardest decision imo. In my Iorveth (Main playthrough) i killed him. The reason was mostly that I promised Roche to kill him, and considering how I betrayed Roche before I felt like I owed him. I never really kill people in RPGs because they "deserve to die". But I did feel that I couldnt really be sure if Letho was gonna commit more murders/assassinations afterwards if I spared him. In my Roche playthrough I let him live though.
W2 will allways be the game of my life, but since w3 with all the new graphics, quest-developement stuff etc, it's hard to go back to w2 like living in a world with endless supply of porn, and going back to playboy,... felt more original back then, but one's gotn used to it
That's the problem Witcher 3 is/looks so good it ruins all other similar RPGs including its own predecessors. As others have suggested, a remaster of 1 and 2 in the witcher 3 engine, throw in some bonus side quests, would probably sell like hotcakes.
Same here, I started with W2 when I googled assassin games (lol) and ended up loving RPG. Finished W3 last year and romanced Triss because of damn W2, I literally can't go back to W2 anymore. Same for TES IV oblivion. I can't play TES III Morrowind. Graphics is the biggest bottleneck of gaming industry.
It's so weird how geralt goes from looking like a gothic weirdo in game 1, a vampire goth rocker in game 2, and then finally a non gothic silver haired young dad in game 3. It's a little bit of a shock seeing him in earlier games and having to realise that they are all the same person lmao
@@AimForMyHead81 I get that. Personally I'm a fan of what CD projekt red did with his witcher 3 look. Witcher one and 2 just look a little too weird for me.
@@spikedude73 Yeah, I'm okay with any and all creative liberties CDPR took since the games aren't canon. I really enjoy them as companion pieces to the books though and they're a much better adaptation that terrible Netflix show.
I´m conflicted here, he is still useful but there is no garantee the emperor will let him rebuild his witcher clan, as Liquid Snake would say: You lost your warrior´s pride and became nothing more than a pawn
@fjoa123 - Radovid was definitely not the worst in TW2. In TW3, he was made out to be a lunatic, which doesn't even make sense continuity-wise. Even from the books Radovid was never an asshole. He was clam, clever, calculated and at least a semi-decent person. The reason he was harsh on sorceresses and Philippa in particular was because she and her cronies orchestrated the assassination of his father in the books, and then later on, was plotting to kill him as well. It seems they only made him that crazy and bloodthirsty in TW3 just so you can sympathize with Eilhart when she eventually kills Radovid. Fuck that conniving bitch and her lackeys. Radovid from the books is a million times better than her.
"I'm better I can tell" Despite the fact Geralt underwent farther trials to enhance him more which turned his hair white. Along with being one of the best swordsmen around. He's literally the pinnacle of Withers and others think they can take him. Leto is also big so he's probably a bit slower and school of the Viper uses two blade fighting so he's not even using his schools combat style. No wonder he lost
@Deepak Kool he might be but Geralt is known to be one of the best swordsmen ever and is the pinnacle of witchers even. Eskel was said to be better before him and Geralt got changed into witchers.
For me, The Witcher 2 was by far the best in writing, I mean I love the Witcher 3 and it introduce me to the Witcher universe but assassins of kings have more character development and moral decisions, the gameplay, yes, compared to the last Witcher it feels old but the story will be always epic and intrigue, at the end the three games are great but the last one doesn't finish what the others start, they leave a lot of the storyline and characters like Saskia, Iorvath, Anais, etc, and the Witcher 3 made irrelevant the decisions u took in the other games, maybe they could have launch four games instead of 3 to complete everything, I hope in a future CD project give us an expansion to see how these stories end.
He reveals that he believes the emperor of Nilfgaard is a "true man" and that he deserves more the crown than the other kings, but he states that his main reason to help him was because the Emperor promised he would rebuild the Order of the Viper, the order that Letho was part of, an order that (according to Letho) seems to have been funded by the sole purpose of unveiling the secrets of the Wild Hunt. This Order could help Geralt in The Witcher 3.
The first time I played this I fought him just to make sure I could beat him in a fight (the first fight was tough as hell). Then I reloaded and spared him because he's awesome.

I love how the Witcher games have great continuity, he freed the sorceress and Letho says how heartless he is for not just letting her die. Then SPOILER...those witch hunters did get her and you find her and put her out of her misery in the next game
Finished this game about 1 hour ago. This guy caused a lot of trouble for the whole country, nearly caused our death, worked with Nilfgaardians, kidnapped Triss, killed 2 kings of the North. Using the witcher powers in wrong way and purposes, so I killed him. We also dont know what he will do with his next step; he is like a walking bomb. Also In first fight he let us go because he said that we saved him once, but in this fight we were even though.
Hmm, I killed Letho, despite not "really" wanting to. Sided with Roche, and promised to get the kingslayer, so that's what I did. :/ Besides, despite Letho having great development that does make him a character you can definetly sympathize with, let's not forget Geralt got framed for regicide because of him, and Letho seemed pretty okay with that ("It's your own fault for playing soldier boy.").
i regretted killing letho i was so angry for what he did to the king but in witcher 3 everything becomes dead past and letho was actually a good friend to geralt and "SPOILERS"!!.... he will be betrayed by the emperor and ordered killed to remove all witness of emperors plan of killing foltest, i felt bad for letho constantly hiding like a homeless dog from any and everyone and knowing his reasons for accepting the emperors request made me understand him a little, he is from the school of the viper and he want to revive it and bring the other lost serpents "other viper school witchers" back together, geralt already have his friends and master vesmer in kaer morhen, i helped him and sent him off to kera morhen hope he will be there to fight with me the wild hunt and hope he won't die!
Thing is Witchers are as Vesemir states "Once many, and now few" as they cannot make anymore witchers since any record for making them is lost.. The Trial of Grasses is only partially known, I avoid killing any witchers since there's so few of them, and whilst Letho did do all those things he could never expect the counts of deaths or anything of the such, he merely wanted to save his friends.. I so wanted to kick his ass, and then straight up say to him "Your Friends are dead.. All you did was for nothing.. and now i beat you.. Now you don't even have glory.. Live with that.."
@@kwazooplayingguardsman5615 vengeance is useless at this point cos it brought peace to no one. Letho would make himself useful by fighting against the wild hunt if he's invited to kaer moran
there are three people in "gaming" that i always kill no matter the consequences and how much people try to justify their actions 1. loghain (everytime i think about him i remember duncan and cailen) 2.letho(everytime i think about him i remember foltest's daughter and son) 3.henselt(everytime i think about him i remember vess)
Don't know how people had trouble with this boss. Wait for his shield to drop and then Aard -> heavy attack -> heavy attack -> rinse and repeat. Don't be fancy with traps or bombs.
The ambient occlusion in this game looks pretty crude. I know it was just having it as a feature was impressive back then but it really sticks out now.
I know it comes down to perspective and point of view, but for me i didn't kill him out of vengeance but more out of need for justice. Not for Geralt but for all the lives he screwed over just because he first wanted to be the bitch of the Mages and of the Emperor of Nilfgard, you sow Discord and Chaos on half a continent just because you wanted to be on the winning side and restart a Witcher school ? He had it coming, maybe not from Geralt but from all the North.
I didn't kill him, everyone knew i was innocent, with that i had no motive to kill him so i just let him go also... he`s kinda a bro (witcher 3 letho ftw)
Collect traps THROUGHOUT the game and then place them all on the higher ground above where Letho was sitting, then he will walk through them all and die instantly.
if u let him live u will meet him in witcher 3 and actually u will be happy and decide to help him with a mission , further more ... you will invite him to come live with u in keramorhan
If you don't kill him, though, which you don't have to, and you start Witcher 3 using your Witcher 2 final save game, then you can find him again in Witcher 3, where you can convince him to go to Kaer Morhen, where he makes a significant contribution to your fight against The Wild Hunt. There is a significant storyline including him, too, in Witcher 3, if you don't kill him in Witcher 2. Also, generally, the more powerful characters in Witcher 3 who you can convince to go to Kaer Morhen, the easier your battle against The Wild Hunt there is... Also, for any who haven't played the game, the story goes on for a good while after that battle, too. 😉
Killed Letho in W2 and haven’t regretted once. Geralt accused of regicide because of him. For the whole game he tried to prove his innocence. That label have sticked with him even in W3 in a convo. Triss and Geralt lost their powerful position because of him. Triss got kidnapped and prisoned and tortured. Both of them suffered. In W3, Triss was desperate bc of him. Lets say Geralt doesnot care politics but surely he cares about the well-beings of his close friends. And any person who meddle with my comfort zone which i have tried so hard to built in W1 deserves to be wiped out. Adios Letho.
@@telleva7890 bc he had to face consequences of his own actions.. Letho is not a stupid person he is from "Viper School" and he acted just like a snake. It may not have looked it, but Geralt slashed his throat. Letho is dead. It happened to Foltest as well. His throat was slashed, but the game did not actually show the wound. Letho is dead. The game just didn't show a big nasty slash on his throat.
In the trailer of the witcher 3 "the sword of destiny" when they show all the witchers it showed one with big arms, but they did not show his face. Maybe he is Letho and the canon story is that he did not died.
They showed the Witchers from the Wolf School, all of whom were featured in Witcher 1. Letho's from Viper School, and undoubtedly dead. Unless a save where you spared him gets carried over. Then maybe he shows up.
***** in the part where Geralt is in a cliff they showed 5 witchers 5) Geralt 4) Vesemir 3) Lambert 2) Eskel 1)????? The first one I do not know who he is, he can't be Coen because he is dead. I thought it could be Leto because he has a huge arm, even if he is from another school maybe he joins forces to fight the wild hunt. In the game you can kill him or leat him leave and knowing Geralt it makes sense he didn't kill him. But it is just a theory he could be a new witcher :p
Jorge Alejandro Rodríguez I just re-watched it, and you may be right. That guy is built like Letho. A "mountain of meat," Geralt had never seen any man bigger than Letho.
I thought this too. Geralt just slashed him... maybe a deep cut, but man, he is a mountain of muscle and there was not even blood and Geralt didnt make sure if he was dead.
Mohammed Islam old comment, but figured I’d reply. The Emperor ordered his men to destroy/ invade their Witcher Hold. Then a group of Viper Witchers were escorted to the Emperor by a certain Sorceress with Amnesia AKA Yen, they were told if they killed Kings in the North that their hold would restored and they’d be left alone. Foltest wasn’t the only King Assassinated. And Letho technically wasn’t working alone. So maybe not all the Vipers participated in Regicide, but at the bare minimum a large group of the survivors did. There wasn’t that many left in general after the empire attacked their hold.
HELP! I just complete the witcher 2, I let go letho after that the last credit comes out and then nothing just gone to main menu. when is taking out the eyes of philipa?
You can't get all the content from 1 walkthrough... :)) Philippa is on Iorveth's path. You went with Vernon? Then replay the game and go with Iorveth, because so far you've seen only half of the game content...
its fun to kill letho, but in a real playthrough i always let him live, it feels more honorable. Afterall if u go with roche, Letho does end up saving geralts woman! Thats something you gotta value!
Yes, I do want him to use his 2 daggers. He's obviously an expert using these and size is not necessarily a decisive point in a battle. What Geralt has in reach, Letho would have in mobility.
Daggers is for when he is in snake mode, it is impossible and not realistic to fight Geralt (A great sorceler) who use a Great long Sword whith a small daggers..he is maybe fast but against a sword it is impossible for him to win
It's impossible for him to win because he's fighting Geralt of Rivia ;) Impossible? Nay. Any weapon is as good as the wielder's expertise with it. Doesn't matter with what you fight. You can always win a fair fight if you know your shit. In duels it's not about the weapons you use, it's about the skill you got with them. The weapon doesn't makes the man, the man makes the weapon. Taking realism as a fact to back your argument invalids it. We're talking about the fantastic world of The Witcher, where Witchers can use magic, have incredible reflexes and strength. Real life rules don't apply here.
Watching this you know guys what is funny? In witcher 1 berengar says to geralt that he has a weak spot at his stomach when he does a Pirouette. This is where he gets hit by letho when he does the spin.
So how you kill is important? Taking a life is taking a life. The army was already marching towards north, it didn't matter, if Letho was successful or not. You have also no reason to kill him except for vengeance, his plans are done and he wants to go back to the "good side of life", killing him wouldn't do anything better except for your own needs. You also shouldn't forget that he tried to care for Yennefer, Geralt's long term girlfriend.
Everyone in Nilfgaard is a puppet of Emhyr or dead or soon to be dead. Emhyr killed people even without a justified reason. "running away" would be even more like Geralt, sticking to a king is actually out of character, the amnesia just made it possible and still he killed people for someone else, while Letho had an actual reason(s). Geralt could just go to another kingdom, it's not like someone could stop him anyway. Triss can take care of herself as most sorceresses.

I'm hoping that if you let him live, maybe he will help you in the next one during a certain side quest or smthn

After making sure I have the best blades, armor, upgrades, potions, blade oils and grenades I could get, there was no way in hell that I would let Letho walk away without a fight.
He defeated Letho even though he clearly had his groin area exposed during that half pirouette.

A game where you can interview the final boss
One of the hardest decision imo. In my Iorveth (Main playthrough) i killed him. The reason was mostly that I promised Roche to kill him, and considering how I betrayed Roche before I felt like I owed him. I never really kill people in RPGs because they "deserve to die". But I did feel that I couldnt really be sure if Letho was gonna commit more murders/assassinations afterwards if I spared him. In my Roche playthrough I let him live though.
Letho isn't a mass murderer ya he is an assassin but there is a huge difference. Now Cat school Witchers.....mmmya they aren't stable.
+Kargath Bladefist (WoD) Letho is a renegade. Witchers kill renegades.
I only kill him of the mages massacre happens.
W2 will allways be the game of my life, but since w3 with all the new graphics, quest-developement stuff etc, it's hard to go back to w2
like living in a world with endless supply of porn, and going back to playboy,... felt more original back then, but one's gotn used to it
That's the problem Witcher 3 is/looks so good it ruins all other similar RPGs including its own predecessors.
Didn't even gave me a chance to spare his life, I just wanted to fight him and end it with a brofist
I don’t know how anyone can choose to kill him after knowing what he did to help Yennifer.
He kidnaped triss and let her wounded on a mountain to be feasted by trolls, this is enough for me.
bro he literally killed Foltest. He was ONLY ONE KING WHO BEFRIENDED Geralt except Saskia. But ofc you not played witcher 1 right

It's so weird how geralt goes from looking like a gothic weirdo in game 1, a vampire goth rocker in game 2, and then finally a non gothic silver haired young dad in game 3. It's a little bit of a shock seeing him in earlier games and having to realise that they are all the same person lmao
His appearance in the first game is definitely the closest to how he's described in the books.
I really enjoy them as companion pieces to the books though and they're a much better adaptation that terrible Netflix show.

never saw letho as the main enemy. worst asshole in w2 was radovid.
fjoa123 Radovid gets even worse in Witcher 3, but i won't spoil, he's an arsehole all-round.
Radovid was calm, clever, calculated in Witcher 3 as you say. It's why he actually wins the war if he isn't killed.
fjoa123 No matter which game Radovid is always the biggest asshole
Radovid was the best king the north ever saw, Just ignorant assholes who just gets their lore from witcher three thinks radovid is an asshole.
"I'm better I can tell"
Despite the fact Geralt underwent farther trials to enhance him more which turned his hair white.
-Give it your best shot (Fight)
-Go, somewhere far away (Let him go)

Geralt: Would you mind for a game of Gwent?
Letho - *Nods
And now we'll never know
The first time I played this I fought him just to make sure I could beat him in a fight (the first fight was tough as hell). Then I reloaded and spared him because he's awesome.

Imagine deciding to kill Letho then seeing him in the Witcher 3 hahah
I love how the Witcher games have great continuity, he freed the sorceress and Letho says how heartless he is for not just letting her die.
Then SPOILER...those witch hunters did get her and you find her and put her out of her misery in the next game
Letho was extremly smart
Geralt : before i kill you how about a round of gwent??
Finished this game about 1 hour ago. This guy caused a lot of trouble for the whole country, nearly caused our death, worked with Nilfgaardians, kidnapped Triss, killed 2 kings of the North. Using the witcher powers in wrong way and purposes, so I killed him. We also dont know what he will do with his next step; he is like a walking bomb.
Also In first fight he let us go because he said that we saved him once, but in this fight we were even though.
CJake3, great video I loved it
Hmm, I killed Letho, despite not "really" wanting to.
Live with that.."
so you let events that killed hundrends of thousands of people to go unavenged for one man? good stock for a nazi skin head
@@kwazooplayingguardsman5615 vengeance is useless at this point cos it brought peace to no one. Letho would make himself useful by fighting against the wild hunt if he's invited to kaer moran

He was dead. Period. Geralt is also no fool either.

there are three people in "gaming" that i always kill no matter the consequences and how much people try to justify their actions

2.letho(everytime i think about him i remember foltest's daughter and son)
3.henselt(everytime i think about him i remember vess)
The effects in this game is fucking outstanding and it was barely the 2nd game in the series.
Don't know how people had trouble with this boss. Wait for his shield to drop and then Aard -> heavy attack -> heavy attack -> rinse and repeat. Don't be fancy with traps or bombs.
All the dialogue options from TW2 felt so much more impactful than in TW3
Damn man i really wanted just to duel letho , not to kill him
The piss take about this game and 3 is I believed Triss, said I couldn’t lose her again and still go into 3 leaving her
The ambient occlusion in this game looks pretty crude. I know it was just having it as a feature was impressive back then but it really sticks out now.
Turning it off makes the game run a lot better too
Letho: *takes a drink, misses mouth*
Geralt: *stares amused*
I know it comes down to perspective and point of view, but for me i didn't kill him out of vengeance but more out of need for justice. Not for Geralt but for all the lives he screwed over just because he first wanted to be the bitch of the Mages and of the Emperor of Nilfgard, you sow Discord and Chaos on half a continent just because you wanted to be on the winning side and restart a Witcher school ? He had it coming, maybe not from Geralt but from all the North.
If you wanna talk about justice then Geralt should be killed as well. He's killed legions of people who were just doing their jobs.

It may not have looked it, but Geralt slashed his throat. Letho is dead. It happened to Foltest as well. His throat was slashed, but the game did not actually show the wound.
Letho is dead. The game just didn't show a big nasty slash on his throat.
It was fixed in Enhanced Edition. Now you can see Letho's blood on the floor in all endings, when he dies.

4) Vesemir

The first one I do not know who he is, he can't be Coen because he is dead. I thought it could be Leto because he has a huge arm, even if he is from another school maybe he joins forces to fight the wild hunt. In the game you can kill him or leat him leave and knowing Geralt it makes sense he didn't kill him.
But it is just a theory he could be a new witcher :p

Are ALL Viper School Members Committing Regicide or just Letho ?

old comment, but figured I’d reply.
Letho - Your nowhere near my level.
Geralt - 'course not, I'm no kingslayer!
Letho (using Yoda voice) - Oh, but you will be...you will be.

its fun to kill letho, but in a real playthrough i always let him live, it feels more honorable. Afterall if u go with roche, Letho does end up saving geralts woman! Thats something you gotta value!
He was the one who took her in the first place tho
that happens in iorveth's path, only if Geralt decides to save Saskia from Philippa Eilhart's manipulation spell instead of saving Triss first
I like the kinda "inky" shading style the character models had in Witcher 2, idk the proper word for it
Why the fuck was Letho using a long sword if we always saw him using the 2 daggers on his chest? Also we never see him carrying a long sword with him.
looool what?? you want him to use 2 small daggers angainst a sword??? that is not world of warcraft
It's impossible for him to win because he's fighting Geralt of Rivia ;)
Impossible?
Real life rules don't apply here.
ihiihihhi sure
It's called justice.
