Hello neighbor (DWH). Appreciate the info. Currently flying a piston single 6 seater and looking into jumping into the 310 for hot and high performance and this helped. Thank you.

Jason, thank you for your videos. I enjoy videos like this because it allows me to compare my airplane (310Q) with others and to compare procedures I use vs how others do things. I recently discovered a problem with my plane comparing performance with another channel. I have a question concerning numbers you use for your rotation speed as this could cause a difference in your takeoff performance. I have noticed often pilots will interchange“knots” when it should be “MPH”. I have done it myself without thinking as I flew airplanes that used knots vs mph in performance and vise versa at the same period in my career. My pilot operation manual calls for rotation at 90mph. Have you been rotating your plane at 90k which is equivalent to 103.5mph or was that an error in notation. Thanks again for posting videos like this. I have owned my Q for 21 years and still get a thrill every time I fly it.

Hi Charles. I rotate about 85 to 90 KNOTS, but it's a shallow rotation as I trade altitude for airspeed. In other words I'm trying to get speed (past blue line) as quickly as possible. A real shallow climb-out. Thanks for the question!

Questions…do you have GAMI injectors? Do you worry about or have you had gear issues? How would you rate it to a 310R, especially with cg and different engines?
Excellent rundown of this airplane model overall.

Hi John, yes I do have GAMI injectors...both of my engines run nice and balanced EGTs. As far as gear issues I bought the plane from an A&P and he rebuilt and rigged the gear. To be honest it's time to get it looked at again. I only have a few hours in the R. The R is heavier but has a few more HP. Personally I like the look of the Q and the IO-470's are relatively bullet-proof. Thanks for the questions!

@@flyboy98 what about TAS with the R? Fuel burn I hear with the R is 26-30gal/hour?
Also, would you consider a T310Q over the normally aspirated?

Agree with all numbers, except climb, on my 310F I climb 1800 for the first 5 minutes and after 500 I drop to 1000 per min. I climb only to 8-9000 and once leveled I climb the last 2000 with speed.

Hey Jason, Did your #2 cylinder run cold in your Q model?

Are these speeds LEAN OF PEAK?
