Clearly, based on your attitude, rather than your background, your opinions regarding training are remarkable. I see too many military and airline pilots that fail to have your view. Excellent ownership advice/experience video.
These go for around $300k. All those upgrades probably $70k-$140k. Cheaper than a diamond DA62 and more adventureristic quality. Damn. These things are built solid.
You are sharp in breaking the costs and all up keep done. As a retired A&P and so many GA owners try to cut costs and then to catch up on repairs as it snowballs. Thanks for the video.
Always love looking at your videos. You mentioned Baron and 310...did you consider the Aztec and if so why not the Aztec? It is slower than the Baron and 310 but has a good load and good single engine performance. Not as good looking either...
Yes, I did consider platforms from Piper also. The Baron (55, 58) and Cessna 310 (P,Q, R) were better performers overall. OEI at 250FPM at sea level is tops in class and both Baron and 310 can achieve. As for as load capacity, the Baron and 310 allow better load capacity by trading fuel for weight. Thanks for watching!!
Strip the back interior, update the tech at the controls, add seaplane floats. Give it a nice paint job. Boom; my dream airplane. Not my dream aircraft though. That'd be the F35

Indeed, flying privately is not the most economical choice in some applications. But it has shown to be most viable choice in some small market/short leg options. Yep.risk management and condition based maintenance. LOP has few benefits and more risks. But if done correctly, is a reasonable approach. For my panel, better instrumentation and I would run LOP. Thanks for watching and stay safe!!
Navy guy here too. Still active, not a pilot. But I’m looking to get into owning an airplane one day. Thank you for your video.
"Owning an aircraft is pricy on the ground. But priceless in the air."
Perfect quote for aviation lovers, very nice!!
So happy to see you are following your dreams and passion, much love to you young man!!❤️🙏🇺🇸

Wow! Listening to you reminds me of my stepdad. Great memories

@@billinga Thanks for the update.
Skymaster is a cool airplane. Always was. Still is..! 😊 The early rare 336 (lighter) was a rip-snorter for '64 days - excel initial climb..!
Do you ever come back down to Charleston. I fly the Da40 out of CHS. If you are ever back in town, we should link up.
Great info, thank you for sharing
Great airplane, great explanation, thank you. Blessings
Such a great airplane!
Very interesting! Fly safe! The dream (Sky King) airplane I’ll never own…I’m a Sport Pilot and fly a fun 1946 Aeronca Champ 7AC, 65-hp, hand prop.
Great speaking voice
Why does owning an aircraft cost so much money?
Strip the back interior, update the tech at the controls, add seaplane floats. Give it a nice paint job. Boom; my dream airplane. Not my dream aircraft though. That'd be the F35
Gotta ask, did you take the “3:10 To Yuma”?😀
LOL, love it, but No. However, I did take the 310 to Phoenix!!
@@billinga Casa Grande has a lovely airport. It’s a gem.
Hello Arthur : your clip encourages me , think I want to fly now,. You look familiar. DMT The Heir Church😊
Very nice
Can I train on a jet instead of a prop..I know there's a difference. But wondering.
Yes but very expensive
It'd look perfect
What is your training background did u fly in the navy?

@@billinga That's a great story love it .....well done my friend an inspiration to many of us for sure .....thank you for sharing - Luis 🇨🇦👍🏼
So how many people does it hold
6 seats but really, 4 adults and 2 kids
That’s an expensive commute! Beautiful plane though!

Those insurance rates are certainly not 2023 lol
indeed, insurance is now $3500 per year for $1M smooth.
Owning an aircraft means another freedom, a peace of mind, renting an aircraft comes with some stresses. But that costs
You're a Mike Busch guy but not running LOP? Pfft
Yep.risk management and condition based maintenance. LOP has few benefits and more risks. But if done correctly, is a reasonable approach. For my panel, better instrumentation and I would run LOP. Thanks for watching and stay safe!!
