  • Can I be as cool as The 310 Pilot? Nobody can. But I'm trying! I've been working on my multi-engine rating, and today my flight instructor, Eric, and I take to the skies in the Cessna 310 for some more practice including simulated short-field landings and engine-out procedures.

This was great, easy going but very informational, not cerebral technical just enough to want to enjoy the video and prompt me to go get my rating. Thank you.

G, day WY Fly Guy from Sydney, Australia.
The new video format is much better with commentary from both inside the cockpit and desk.
    * the Cessna 310R with 8 sumps; are they for individual tank compartments?
    * with takeoff: once at v1, v2 (rotate) the difference from a single is to gain speed and remove drag: not just positive rate of climb to satisfy, gear up?
    * love the new mech shop!

Glad you liked the mix. It was our way of making lemonade out of lemons. The sumps are for the tanks and cross feed lines. Every possible low point. Yes removing drag in case of engine failure is the primary reason to retract gear once positive rate 1&2 are met. Glad you dig the merch!

2 sources of audio always. Learned that the hard way.

@@JustPlaneSilly I’ve been using GoPro alone then was told about the simplicity of the Sony ICD-PX370 by Parr 4 the Course. This was the first attempt at using it and I botched it.

Loved the video. I watched the mock check ride video first and was curious as well if a twin was in your future? You answered that in this video to Ron and Janis. But, I also was wondering if a turbo Viking was ever part of your future prospects given the amount of potential mountain flying you do? I thoroughly enjoyed the mock check ride video as it is a reminder of the mental stresses involved in learning a new complex task. And that goes all the way back to initial flight training. Great job on both videos. I can’t wait to see the changes on the Viking.

I’m not sure what’s next, but I have always wanted a Malibu for a long cross country plane. With all the work I’ve put into Gus, I would hope to keep him even if I were to move up.

Multi for fun or future plans of a twin?
    Still liking the Halos?

No plans for a twin. This is all about increasing my skill set. So I have been using the Halo's because I left all my head sets in Gus. However, I have found that for me they don't do a great job of keeping the noise out. I also miss the Bluetooth. The other thing I find is that it can be difficult to keep the mic positioned correctly since it is so light and easy to move around.
