This was a cool beginner tutorial for craps. This game intimidated me when I first saw it on display over 20 years ago. Now it’s my favorite game to play when I go into any casino. I literally learned the game in an hour after a dealer showed me the ropes on a slow night at Tropicana Casino in Atlantic City. You explained the game perfectly with this video.
High compliment, thank you. Its a great game, and some dealers are very helpful at teaching the game, glad you had a great first experience.
@@ColorUp I don't understand the buy bet, I seen it a few times in your videos now
@@markadkins9290 Here is a video on the buy bet. Its just a different way to bet on a number and sometimes it is beneficial to the player. Almost always on the 4/10 and never on the 6/8, and super rare on 5/9 ua-cam.com/video/qRsaYIj-cgc/v-deo.html

Played for the first time on a cruise last week after watching almost all of your videos! So much fun! Was intimidated at the beginning but the other players were very friendly and I got more comfortable and then I managed to walk away up almost 300%! Looking forward to playing again! Thanks for this channel, it was super helpful to not appear to be completely uninformed.
That is awesome!
I watched 3 of your beginners videos and just walked out of casino up $180! That was my first time at a table and I felt like I knew everything that was happening. Thank you brother for being so thorough and helpful.
That’s awesome! Appreciate you coming back to share your experience too
Just played for first time this weekend. It was definitely very intimidating at first but once I learned the basics it was pretty fun. I ended up winning about $400 playing mostly $10 bets. I am so upset I didn’t learn earlier. I thought blackjack was good odds but I have run into many tables where the cards just seem rigged in favor of the dealer. Like 4-5 card 21ers over and over again. Craps seemed to be so much more winnable. And it’s way more fun! I ended up have 20+ throws my first time and I had 38 throws on my last game of the weekend. It was wild! It’s pretty awesome when the whole table is cheering you on because you’re winning them a bunch of money! And also pretty cool when you’re winning a bunch of money yourself haha.
Thank you for this and your other videos. They are generally well done. The one thing I can't find that I think would be helpful for every beginner is about 5 minutes of play with ONLY pass line bets. People need to see the basic grind of the basic game play for several rounds to get it firmly into their heads. THEN it would be apprpriate to show a couple more bets like the odds bet. I would also avoid any early on discussion of the odds because that complicates things for a beginner. I would stick to showing the basic pass line bet and basic game play. Yes that is surely boring for a professional but for a beginner they need to see the basic structure. It might also be helpful to show that with 3 players, all pass line betting. Anyhow, thanks again.
As always great vid J. A big part of craps, besides the mechanics of the game is the etiquette. When I was learning I wish someone had told me to follow the stickman. Stick down -ask questions, get change, make bets, etc. Stick up - Hands out. Thanks again.
Well said!
ugh... the late reach lol. I think we've all done it at some point. But that would be a great video.
Hi! I’m part of the Loca family and Tony sent me over. Thank you for explaining this game. I was bewildered at how to play, so I’ve never tried it.
It’s intimidating for sure, but at its core, just betting on numbers you think will roll. It’s a lot of fun once you get the hang of it.
Heading to Vegas this morning! Super excited to try Craps!
Good lesson. I've always found Craps to be "Roulette with dice", as I was a roulette player, yes I know it is the worse odds of most table games... and the way I explain it to people is similar to a horse race. You stake your bet on a number (horse) if it rolls you win, if you hit 7 you lose. Field is a spread bet - easy to understand. Don't bets are essentially betting on your number (the horse) to lose. That is your meat and potatoes of the game, everything else on the table is gravy (profit bets).
Congrats on the new layout! Looks great! I like the "to" instead of "for" on the props and "Pays Triple" in the Field.
Good breakdown I pretty much learned how to play from watching your videos about three years ago thanks for all the help!!
Me to!
I used your series of videos to win $105 at a nickel table my first time out!
Very helpful and hope to return the favor soon.
Glad you had a great first experience. Its a great game!
Thank you for this. I’ve played a couple of times but it’s nice to get a refresher before heading back out to Vegas
I really enjoy your videos! I am brand new to the game and watched several of your videos for instruction and betting strategies. I've always wanted to learn Craps and now I can say I know how to play! I just played my third game ever and although I did not do well I still had fun! It still is an intimidating game and I was hoping to try a couple new things but I ended up being the only person at the table. So my losses added up real quick. I've been practicing with and (trying to) playing with the betting strategy you showcased with John Boender. Thanks for the great content!
Yeah, I never like to play alone. The rolls just go too fast, and potential to lose money fast is high.
Saw you over at La Lida Loca! Craps has always interested me but I’ve never taken the time to learn. Will check out more of your videos!
Thanks for checking out my channel!
Learned a lot from your videos! Thanks!
Appreciate you watching
This video was perfect for me, thanks! I am traveling out of the country and wanted to visit a casino. My go-to game is blackjack, but I don't like to play if the payout at a table is 6:5. I figured if I could learn enough craps just to get playing, then even if blackjack doesn't work out, I have an alternative. This video was perfect!
glad it helped
The new table looks great!
Thanks
No BIG 6/8 we got the world and we got pays TO numbers AND triple field. Just need those long shot bets and you're set!
Still have no idea on how to play 🙈
LOL ME EITHER !!! So frustrating to because everyone I see playing always looks like they are having so much fun AND WINNING. 🎉🎊🎈🥇🎰🏆🐻❄️🧑🎄🗻🎄🍵🧸💸🪽🥂🍷🍾🍃🎐🐻❄️😊
I've watched it a few times and yea... Don't get it ugh
You have to physically get out there and play. I played at about 4 casinos and I think I got it. This video helped me remember the rules before playing.
Great fair explanation of the game
Thank you cheers. Loving your preswntations
That table is fresh Jeremy.
Yep, first video on it 😁
I would say hardways while being biggest house edge and riskier obviously is the easiest bet to understand at the craps table
Heading to Vegas tomorrow, gonna try this.
New subscriber. The Loca family sent me. I have never played craps and I really want to learn.
Welcome, I have a free video course on my website www.colorup.club or you can find plenty of beginner videos here throughout my channel.
Gracias por la clase me sirvio mucho!!
This is so helpful, mister. Thank you!!
You're very welcome!
This is exactly what I needed.
Glad it’s helpful
Great video. It was very helpful. Great work thank you
Great video! Thanks 💯
Best explanation I've seen yet, thank you for rulling out the complicated gameplay, I wanted to learn in baby steps and you did that for me thank you.
Glad it helped!
great vid sir, great tips for beginners
Thanks Rob
This is awesome! Thanks so much
You're very welcome!
Excellent, thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you!
Not sure if you've already covered it, but how about a video covering all the different types of bonus bets in craps... fire bet, the all, tall, small, etc.
Yep All tall- ua-cam.com/video/ANLHHKG_Evs/v-deo.html
fire - ua-cam.com/video/NuRiYLrJQ1k/v-deo.html
I’ve never played in real life before. I started watching your videos and playing on an app. I feel pretty confident with what you have taught me! I’m going to the casino to play for the first time tomorrow. Fingers crossed that I do as well as I do on my phone 😂
Have fun and good luck 🍀
Great video !
It would be helpful to explain why the odds differ for the box numbers (4 5 6/8 9 10). I had to pause the vid in the middle to figure out what made the odds different. (I'm pretty sure it's because the numbers in the middle have more die combos to add up to that number)
Thanks
The first time that I walked up to a crash table I had the same feelings that I had deer hunting called buck fever.

can we get an age restricted flag on this upload you tube?
jk. nice & to the point upload. very helpful 👍
Any videos more on the horn bet
very good video
Please update your lay out we need to see the hop layout with the future bet or fire bet on it
you will have more option on the strategies for new videos
I have hops and Bonus bets printed separate and can add when needed per video
thats great keep up the good work the videos are excellent
Great looking table !!! Can you tell us how you made it ??
I designed the layout then sent it off to print, as far as the table, it’s not real, just plywood and 2x4 base I put together. Looks good on camera but not so much in full view. Smoke and mirrors as they say in the show biz world.
this guy sounds so much like joe rogan its crazy. great video
You’re deaf 😂
Thx
Great video! I am Trying to learn this game and you explained it very well 🎲
Glad to help
Just right when I think I have this game, I don’t have this game! 😂
3:17 you never said what rolling a 12 does on the dont pass bar… especially since it has a 12 picture right next to it… you would think it matters
Nothing happens…it’s a push. Neither win nor lose. So no, it doesn’t really matter. It’s also not called the dont pass bar…it’s just the dont pass and then it says bar 12 (which means “except for”) except for the 12
@@ColorUp ah. Thanks.
Bar means push in everything in a casino but slot machines. Bar basically means tie no win or loss
Pretty cool
I assume that the orange dice in the middle table bets represent *any* iteration of the number, not just doubles of a particular number? The odds of any two particular numbers coming up on a roll of two dice is 1 in 36 regardless of what numbers are chosen, so this would be the only way it makes sense for different odds based upon the result. Also, because 11 and 3 pay 15:1 rather than 30:1 does this mean that a bet of the 11 also wins if the roll is 12 (and the bet on 3 similarly wins on a roll of 2)?
I have a video on the "prop bets" that may help ua-cam.com/video/peWGQwAc55M/v-deo.htmlsi=O12VYWtF9y4M_Yps
Great overview Jeremy, but I would caution against too high level of an overview. Any discussion of craps without a discussion about probability is slightly problematic. You say that there are 11 numbers that can roll, which is obviously true, but then a newcomer sees 7 of those numbers are winners in the field and it looks like a great bet. You addressed that prop bets are low probability, and a rough explanation that the pass bet is 50/50, but the field could have been explained a little better to make sure people know what they are getting into. Thanks again I have always enjoyed your content.
I appreciate your comment and thanks for watching my content. Im doing my best to describe and attract hesitant players to the game. I point them to my beginner series which covers probability in detail.
@@ColorUp 100% I agree that dice probability is way beyond the scope of a basic overview. This is much better than the way most of us learned which was basically by walking up to the table and imitating others and watching money exchange hands without understanding why lol.
Hi, what happen when somebody shot number where is white point ? What happen then ?
The placement of that 5 chip had to be intentional... 2:00
Do you have to bet on the pass/no pass lines to make other bets ?
No. It’s only a required bet for person rolling the dice.
I'm gonna be honest because I love the video and mean no disrespect
But what my takeaway was "if you don't go to Casinos ask the dealer how too play" @ the comments
I would say that “asking a dealer” can be helpful, but in most situations it will not be. I recommend trying to get a good grasp of game by watching some UA-cam videos. It’s a complex game. A dealer may be able to supplement the knowledge you have gained online, but rarely can they teach you the game or explain it. Most times they will be busy dealing and any help at all might be very minimal at best.
I men if u wanna learn anything in life you need to go do it and be around people doing it. Why do u think there is something called book smart and street smart? Sure u went to college to do microbiology but I never went and have been in the field doing it for 7 years. Who is gonna know micro biology better? Not the college kid that’s for sure
25 minimum tabel bet 6 and 8 would need 32 on it to get paid even ?
I'm a bit confusing at the beginning. If I bet on The Pass Line, someone threw a 10. The dealer flips the marker to ON and places at 10. And then, someone threw a 6, does the dealer then move the marker to Six or it stays at 10
It will stay on the 10 until a 7 is rolled
7 ends the game in craps that marker will say on until the game ends. A person could be throwing the dice for twenty minutes straight in a game or the could throw it one time in a game
i wonder if there are 4 or 5 people in one side of the table, and every one of them bet the number, fields, horn bet at same time, how do the dealer distinguish the bet belonged to? the chips have no marks on it
There actually are markings on a casino layout to distinguish between each players' position at the table. Pass, Don't Pass, Field and Come bets just place your chips straight in front of you. It makes more sense when you see it action with multiple players!
Not all tables have markings, but here is a video I did on the topic. ua-cam.com/video/zDzqAkwPVU4/v-deo.html
I don’t understand how the dont pass line is the same bet. The 7 & 11 has 8 combinations of dice rolls where the 2, 3, 12 only has 4
So if you're not rolling, do u have to play on the pass or don't line?
No
@@ColorUp other question, can u pass your turn to roll if you didn't feel like rolling ? Just play the table ya know.
@jameson7877 yes, just let the dealer know you don’t want to shoot and would like to pass the dice to next person
You never have to roll the dice one time to play craps but someone does
Jeremy? You said I have to bet the table minimum on any bet at the table. Is that right? :)
this is beginner class and stake values may change depending on the casino. I know what you are asking, a dollar on the hard ways and $4 minimum on the Horn?
I didn’t cover prop bets on video but yes they don’t have the same table minimums. Typically $1 until at a $25 table when the prop bet minimum a lot of times goes to $5
@@andrewcarr2431 If the table minimum bet is less than $25, you can make a $1 bet on any of the Horn numbers. You don't have to bet all of the Horn numbers.
The game of craps is actually very simple. The dice can only roll 1 thru 11. You place a bet on the number you think you’re going to roll. The one place where it gets a little complicated is in the different ways you can place your bet, and that’s where you focus your attention when learning it. However, you can start to play just off knowing what I first explained.
Yes, as a teacher I explain the game many different ways for many different learners. But many vids I explain like you mentioned. Bet on a number, hope it rolls. That’s the game.
Does the 12 not matter in the "don't Pass" bet when the game starts? You didn't mention it, so wanted to be sure.
No, it’s “bar 12” which means it’s just a push, you don’t win or lose.
If you have bets on say 6,9 with the point being 8, can you ever pull down your 6,9 bet?
Place bets can be removed at any time. Pass line and come bets are the only bets in game you cannot reduce or remove
Iron cross. Win every roll!
You've intro's craps at least twice. I watched about half the one with your son. That video was a little scattered. (Not your son's fault!)
This one's better. As of 5:30 you stop this thing with blacking out the fields. Conceptually, that goes in a good direction. Why don't you actually put felt over the real fields on the table during explanations, rather than just flashing a graphic up in between explanations.
Interesting idea.
what are the boxes above the numbers for?
Lay bets and don’t come bets
@@ColorUp What's the difference? Sorry for my ignorance. I'm a complete beginner
Lay bets are the number showing and don’t come are bets where it doesn’t show. You are betting on the numbers in craps either you want it to show up or you don’t. That’s craps in a nutshell. Do you think 8 is showing up or not when the dice are rolled?
I'm so lost
You forgot to explain what happens when a 12 is rolled on a no pass bet
So FREAKING confusing!
So at a five dollar table you can play one dollar bets on the props. Can you play $5 bets on the props at a $25 table?
Typically at $25 tables is when the casinos also bump the prop bets up to $5 minimum, but that is decided by individual casino management.
Good Crap For number Seven (7)
Oops! Looks like fun.
Me: “okay 7 and 11 are wins”
Also me: “haha ass line”
There will be a day when i'm mature enough to not laugh at the come line, but today is not that day
Just turned $50.00 into $1,720.00 after playing for the first time.
Wow
I’m confused 😐
Hes a bad teacher 🤦♂️ he could have simplified this he talks way to much
Ha
Only 2 and 3 not 2, 3 and 11?? You said 2,3 And 11 in your other video
Not sure what this is in reference to? Craps numbers are 2/3/12. Dont pass wind on 2/3 only. Was I talking about one of these items?
Why is the "puck" on or off? Asking for a friend
I could make up a clever answer but I don’t know. Good question.
On to signify a game in play, or a point has been establish, off to state the current game is finished and we start with a fresh come out roll. It also shows if the standard bets are working or not. I asked Google but it couldn't tell me the history of the puck or why it is on/off?
Good explanations of function of puck, but why chose the word “on / off” I still don’t know. Best guess: your “on” the point then “off”
I must be mentally deficient. No one can seem to explain this game to me in a way that makes any sense. Why can’t someone go step by step or something??
Check out my free beginner course on my website www.colorup.club
Step by step, one rule and bet at a time.
I am in Vegas the weekend of Jan 14th and can not find any $5 tables. Am I looking in the wrong place?
Weekends tough to find, but OYO, Jerry nugget, Ellis island, southpoint, Sahara, downtown Grand, will have 5, or go further away. Mid strip no chance,
still confused and not quite get it to me
I was really liking this video, but then he started removing lines that I don’t 100% understand yet. So 👎🏽
So confusing
Why are six and nine written in words tho? Btw this is 69th comment.. nice 😊
They look like same number depending on which side table your at. So helps make it clear.
@@ColorUp thanks :)
I thought the dealers there there to rob me.
Nope, casino is ha…dealers work for tips, the more you win the more potential tip they get
Im sorry. But not explaining the game first...i dont know, maybe something is blocking my brain, you seem to remove options without context to the roll.
Chances are you have so so many more choices...unless you put chips somewhere.
Like you cant play unless your on the ass line when a new roller starts or when it aint.
Explain the roller vs better vs anti better.
I have multiple beginner videos all approaching game from different points of view as I understand everyone learns a little differently. Btw, you do not have to bet the pass line in order to play. That bet is only required by the shooter.
I'm still confused. I've never gambled....when can you take your chips out and put them in? I don't get it.
huh
Ass line 🤓🤣🤣🤣
wtf
Sorry bro you make it more complicated removing things nd stuff
Ok
@colorup I gotta say i REALLY ejoyed and also REALLY APPRECIATE that lil speach you gave at the end of your video. It was wonderful a pleasent surprise. 🖤🤍☯️
