Nice repair Peter! On my channel I recently posted a video where I had an Atlas GP40 run like crap right out of the box brand new. I've got i running better but still not great. So I think i'm going to have to tear it down and rebuild it.
Illuminate your work area and get some squeeze to release tweezers! Use a toothpick for the glue, speaking of glue BSI is what you need here. Removing the rails and using hot water or an incandescent bulb would soften them.

I had one in ho scale that did it intill I fixed it it was a Walters train line b40-8
