During Euro 2020, there was this huge meme because Bernardeschi talked about "risking the play" and acting like he was going to have his big moment there. Many memed about it, especially because, in an Italy team that had Insigne, Immobile and Chiesa, not many expected him to have that big moment. Then, during the semifinals with Spain, he was tasked with one of the penalties, and scored a rather risky one. He delivered on his promise, and showed he was a man of his words. He then did the same during the final, shushing many who were wondering why was he in the squad in the first place.
Fun fact: there was once an Italian show about Fiorentina's academy players, as they were trying their best to become the next big thing in Italian football. Not only they (sadly) didn't achieve much in their careers, but one of the teammates that refused to be part of the program (only appearing in background moments) was Bernardeschi, who then went on to have the exact type of career the show's protagonists hoped for
Dogs lay by the stairs, because they've been trained to do so for generations, its to protect the sleeping family upstairs from intruders. Dogs are smart enough to recognize a defensive choke point, that's easier to defend
Great vid. I'm a huge Italian soccer fan, particularly the national team, but I had little interest in TFC or MLS (despite being from the Toronto area). That all changed in 2022 when they brought in Lorenzo and Fede. I 100% agree with your take that Fede's appeal goes well beyond the scoresheet!

Keep going! Great content. You’ll get far, just keep going.
Man the rest of the Toronto squad must be horrible if they have those 2 Italians, and are still always at the bottom of the standings.
