The fact that you used to be a soccer channel or something idek but you’re quickly becoming my favorite film/tv channel is the biggest twist of the year.
The first time I saw Fallout and that scene came, I was so irrationally nervous seeing how Ethan was basically trapped between a rock and a hard place, I thought "what's he gonna do? Just let all the cops die?" I remember my heart beating so fast every time the truck was approaching, I still don't understand why but it was amazing how that scene made me feel
I thought I recognized Walken in Seven Psychopaths! Yeah, that's a very fun film. But oh my god you need to cover the Pillowman. What an incredible play, and what a series of gut punches the final hour is.
My favorite plot twist ever has to be Oldboy (2003). Usually I'm pretty good at predicting twists, but the big one at the end of oldboy made me legit stand up and put my hands on my head. Unbelievable stuff. Yall gotta watch that one.
Been binge watching all your stuff man I love how it feels like theres an actual person behind the content and (dont take this the wrong way) there's like an unpolished raw feel and I'm coming to this video after just watching the favorite depictions of the devil part 2 and you just seem genuine and knowledgeable. Pause on the glazing. But there's so many just top ten churn out slop content creators but these are always intricate and you go off on tangents which I love. Keep it up man.
A) The opening is perfect! B) it's not a movie, but a short story and there's a radio-play called "Three Skeleton Key" that I read in Middle school and still remember to this day because of the copious amount of rats.
Oh my gosh, has nobody mentioned the movie with an abundance of rats “Willard” with Crispin Glover?! It is SUCH an interesting ride, just abstract enough to keep it weird. Phenomenal ride.
"Desist brother, this will not help us" "It might" I agree that that scene went way too hard for an otherwise semi-goofy movie that seemed to prioritize having fun over taking itself seriously for the most part
Another great post! I hope you don’t get burned out, we’d be happy with one video a week. Hope you have enough content planned to keep up this post rate. Best ❤️
Hey there buddy! I just recently got into your channel and recommend you to some friends. I love your enthusiasm. Anyway, down to business. I'm 34 and your talking about rats unlocked a childhood memory. I remember occasionally through my life thinking of a movie I was terrified of. It involved a family terrorized by a giant rat and them killing it's "baby" Which was just a normal sized rat. I always figured it was a fever dream. I googled. Its real. It's part of an anthology movie called Nightmares. Night of the Rats specifically. From 1982. Good title because I had no idea it was real.
Mission Impossible Fallout is hands down one of the best spy movies ever made and the bathroom fight scene is another level. It was such a good fight scene that it wouldn't look out of place in the Raid movies.
I don't know if it counts as a twist, but the reveal of a real demo ux entity in Longlegs blew me away, even if its fairly obvious in hindsight. I also, shocker, love the twists in Batman 2022. Carmine Falcone being the snitch, Riddler not knowing Batmans secret, and the seawall detonation were all incredibly well done.
This one is objectively kinda stupid but I love it all the same. The twist in Looper that the main character is what causes the Rainmaker to become who he is might be one of my favorite twists because of how clean the execution is. The slow motion shots of Bruce Willis raving mad searching for the kid, the young Rainmaker covered in blood, and Joseph Gordon Levitt's voiceover, the well conveyed notion that our main characters blunderbuss cannot hit anyone from his current distance. It all hits so well and is perfectly ended with the final remark, "So I changed it." followed by a single shot marking his final act of redemption, making a choice to benefit others rather than himself.
An idea for a future video could be your guilty pleasure films? Mine for example is Crank 2. I could never recommend that movie to anyone but I absolutely enjoy it
When it come to movies my favorite twist(s) are probably the constantly twisting story of Knives out. Spoilers ahead. Maybe my favorite twist is the reveal of how harlen died. Marta beleives for the majority of the films runtime that she killed him but the twist reveal not only clears her of the crime but cements her as the good nurse and good person that blanc belives she is from the begining. I adore everything about this movie. But my favorite plot twist in all of media is from attack on titan(again spoilers ahead), the reveal of whats in the basement, a mystery alluded to from the very first episode completely flips the story and world on its head and perfectly sets up the 4th season which is nearly unrecognizable compared to the first 3 seasons. Absolutely brilliant.
I think Se7en was the first plot twist I saw in a movie and what a great one it was. The first movie I saw with a copious amount of rats was The Secret of NIMH.
Coherence is a great potential choice If I can pick a TV Show, I’d pick the entirety of the episode International Assasin from season 2 of The Leftovers - my favourite show of all time It would be hard to pick favourite plot twist from Mr Robot. I don’t really feel it/they are my place to say as it’s such a great show with several twists, and I wouldn’t want to spoil. But if you know any of them, you can pick one and I’m sure it would be great. At bit more broadly speaking here, but I’d like to also pick the genre of Sci-fi in general. I think that sometimes to properly self-reflect on ourselves with total honesty, we first need to permit ourselves to be deceived into thinking that’s it’s actually something else we are bringing into judgement, before slowly realising that we were, via allegory, looking at ourselves the whole time. This is also the timeless power and purpose of mythology in my opinion. Possible video idea - Favorite representations of the mechanics of time-travel in movies. The beautiful and haunting 2013 movie ‘About Time’ could apply to both the twist and time travel video ideas
Putting Julianne Moore and Emma Stone in a movie and making it surprising that they're playing Mother and Daughter is a staggering achievement, like it's so obvious in hindsight. As for Macbeth, it's a bit simplistic to call it a "twist". The protagonist dying at the end of a tragedy is not a twist, I'm no expert but I would imagine even contemporary audiences would have viewed the witches as suspicious and their prophecy as quite carefully worded, it's pretty clear that there is a catch, but Macbeth is so blinded by arrogance and lust for power that he buys it completely.
Maybe this film isn't underrated, but My Cousin Vinny is beloved by many people in the forensic and law world. Surprisingly, for realism. One of my favorites (as I can never pick one) has to be Jurassic Park 3. Objectively not good. Still, I can't help but love it. Okay, really all the Jurassic Park movies. I think the Lost World has some great scenes, and truly the first villain I saw as a child from capitalism. I am of course hateful of Jurassic world and its constituents, but I still want to see the world where dinosaurs and humans live side by side. There are not enough dinosaur movies! I said it! Dinosaurs are too damn cool to only have a few movies about them. I'd like to point out I really enjoyed the beginning bit. Very clever indeed
you’re actually my favorite youtuber rn man and i love all of your openings to your videos they never fail to get me hooked much love man and good luck 👍
The scene from Seven Psychopaths referenced towards the end of the video:

The first time I saw Fallout and that scene came, I was so irrationally nervous seeing how Ethan was basically trapped between a rock and a hard place, I thought "what's he gonna do? Just let all the cops die?" I remember my heart beating so fast every time the truck was approaching, I still don't understand why but it was amazing how that scene made me feel
I've been following you since your favorite depiction of the devil video, hope you'll have a bigger audience man, love your videos
I thought I recognized Walken in Seven Psychopaths! Yeah, that's a very fun film. But oh my god you need to cover the Pillowman. What an incredible play, and what a series of gut punches the final hour is.

If you haven’t yet, you need to watch Moon (2009). Sam Rockwell is phenomenal and the twist actually left me speechless. Great movie.
My man out here putting out 500k subs level quality video essays

Thank you for your videos. You’re a good positive source of joy. I appreciate you, Mr. Caretaker-of-Pancake
*Just earned a new subscriber with that opening. Fire.*
That was one of the most clever intros i've ever seen, props to you, Pancake!
absolute banger if an intro
Pan's Labyrinth, the ending is so unforseen, yet beautifully tragic.
That was genius pancake, Bravo 👏🏽
Oh my gosh, has nobody mentioned the movie with an abundance of rats “Willard” with Crispin Glover?! It is SUCH an interesting ride, just abstract enough to keep it weird. Phenomenal ride.
Another great video 🎉
I can honestly say, of the millions of videos I consume on here that’s the first time I’ve been plot twisted…loved it! Very clever!
maaan, and i almost didn't click on this video... great setup, you got me, rare thing on youtube these days
"Desist brother, this will not help us"
"It might"
I agree that that scene went way too hard for an otherwise semi-goofy movie that seemed to prioritize having fun over taking itself seriously for the most part
1922 definitely has copious amounts of rats at times. Great videos man, keep it up.
Single greatest opening to a video ever. Bravo, my good sir. Bravo

Another great post! I hope you don’t get burned out, we’d be happy with one video a week. Hope you have enough content planned to keep up this post rate. Best ❤️
I feel somewhat responsible for suggesting you breathe more while narrating, you sound *so* much better dude its really impressive
Hey there buddy! I just recently got into your channel and recommend you to some friends. I love your enthusiasm.
Anyway, down to business. I'm 34 and your talking about rats unlocked a childhood memory.

Good title because I had no idea it was real.
Holy balls that opening was a masterpiece👏🏼👏🏼
man you will LOVE park chan wook films !!!! especially old boy, lady vengeance, the handmaiden
Genius intro! It had me going!
Mission Impossible Fallout is hands down one of the best spy movies ever made and the bathroom fight scene is another level. It was such a good fight scene that it wouldn't look out of place in the Raid movies.
I like that the idea of the video is a plot twist. Genius
Holy shit this was a beautifully executed opening
7 psychopaths is a great movie, I need to rewatch it. Saw it randomly in college and it became a fav easily
I don't know if it counts as a twist, but the reveal of a real demo ux entity in Longlegs blew me away, even if its fairly obvious in hindsight.
I also, shocker, love the twists in Batman 2022. Carmine Falcone being the snitch, Riddler not knowing Batmans secret, and the seawall detonation were all incredibly well done.
loving the videos, please take care not to burn out man
I don't necessarily believe that plot twist = underrated. Great video regardless.
I do hope you are joking. 😭
Mulholland Drive type intro, misleading af, but extraordinarily brilliant.
Oh my. I did not realize the pancake could flip so quickly.
Oh my god I got boomed I've never been more excited to watch the rest of a video
Great video dude, thanks. Made my day :)
Your videos are really good
My favorite twist of all time:
"Now that we know who you are, I know who I am."
Genius move with the title it made me comment, subbed W move
That intro was legendary lol
This one is objectively kinda stupid but I love it all the same.

Amazing work
An idea for a future video could be your guilty pleasure films? Mine for example is Crank 2. I could never recommend that movie to anyone but I absolutely enjoy it
God DAMN I love your reviews bro
i'm too high for this video i fully believed everything and the plot twist reveal made me lose my mind thank you
I can't believe you dont have ratatouille in your rats movie list. Also great video!!! 🐀🐀🐀
The newest "All Quiet on the Western Front" movie has a copious amount of rats in one scene but it's only for like a minute so idk if it counts.
COOLEST META BIT/OPENER IVE ALREADY SEEN
Holy shit that opening... was not expecting that .
Holy shit!! That openings amazing
If you ejoy copious amounts of rats you should check out Willard (1971)/(2003).
Awesome video btw
THIS WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE

Praise the pancake overlords 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Opening was actually crazy
You almost got me lmao
Wow that was a crazy plot twist
WE DEMANDS MORE PANCAKE
Bro has been absolutely cooking with fire and oil holy shit
14:33 Willard (2003) = copious amounts of rats. Apparently it is a remake of a 1971 film of the same name
And the sequel to Willard (the 1971 version): Ben (1972)
The special effects in these are hilarious
I don't know enough about Jokier 2: The Jokening to refute any of the opening
I think Se7en was the first plot twist I saw in a movie and what a great one it was. The first movie I saw with a copious amount of rats was The Secret of NIMH.
Movies with Copious amounts of rats. Food of the Gods (1976).
Coherence is a great potential choice
If I can pick a TV Show, I’d pick the entirety of the episode International Assasin from season 2 of The Leftovers - my favourite show of all time

Pardon my language but fucking genius. Fantastic job good sir. You have my standing ovation. (And I did give one).
Putting Julianne Moore and Emma Stone in a movie and making it surprising that they're playing Mother and Daughter is a staggering achievement, like it's so obvious in hindsight.

Spiffy meta-misdirection old boy!
*Golf clap
That goes hard.
We fucking adore people who live for the bit
real monster is me in the sheets

Came here for the Seven Psychopaths love
God the intro was fantastic, your videos are so good it makes me mad that your not more well known
11:29 I don't know what it was about 70s medieval movies but they peaked during that time
Rats, you say? Surely you know about "Ben" from 1972, and its remake from 2003, called "Willard" and featuring the very weird Crispin Glover?
Oh, and how about "Graveyard Shift" from 1990?
i still don’t understand what the aliens wanted from humanity in arrival. i couldn’t hear what she was saying
I'd recommend Willard as a movie with many rats.
I agree with you joker 2 is overhated, i didnt love it but i thought it was interesting
14:36 Another rat filled movie is '1922' which is a Stephen King adaption released in 2017
“What a Twist!”
This dude seriously forgot about Akira Kurosawa's Throne of Blood
you’re actually my favorite youtuber rn man and i love all of your openings to your videos they never fail to get me hooked much love man and good luck 👍
Fallout is still the best of the entire M:I franchise. DR was such a step down... don't get me started on a certain character's stupid fucking death
Almost became one of those people who comment "Arrival is underrated???"
If you like the Haunting of Hill House, you should watch Lake Mungo.
Indiana Jones: The Last Crusade has a great rat horde.
